After "squeezing" us in at very short notice on the bank holiday weekend we were very pleasantly surprised by how spacious and seemingly uncrowded this site was when we arrived. Our two campervans occupied a pitch that would have had 10-15 tents jammed onto it at other sites. We will definitely visit this site again - hopefully then the owners will have the planning permission for a new shower block that they thoroughly deserve - the only downside to this site was that at busy times there was a queue, but I wouldn't let that put you off they are well worth the wait, he facilities were the cleanest we have ever seen and hot. Even in the rain, it seemed like the owner was always in the shower block cleaning and wiping down whatever time of day you went in. They are also very spacious so able to have a shower without getting everything else wet too. The location is stunning and there is a lovely short walk to the nearby village. The owners were very friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome, and were always visible around the site if you needed to get hold of them.

This is a cracking site. The toilets and showers were spotless even when pouring down with rain and everybody wet. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Combine this with stunning views, a clean river to play in, a good dog walk and a lovely safe 10 minute walk into Beddgelert this is an excellent site. We would definitely recommend this site and we will certainly be visiting again.

Wonderful site, excellently run and would fully recommend it. Unspoilt and rural - and we were left to choose our own pitch with a little guidance from the owners. Gorgeous valley, near to Beddgelert - only a 10-15 minute walk away. Campsite huge and even though we camped a little distance from shower / toilet block - we were next to the river - which our boys loved! Will definitely go back!

We stayed here with our two children and retired father and the site has excellent facilities the toilets are spotlesly clean warm and the showers are hot and large enough to get three people in, this is important when you have young children. The views are fantastic and you can walk into beddgelert from the back lane of the campsite which is safe for children and then along side the river which is lovely, the site is large with lots of camping fields and also lots of water and a second set of toilets by the river. I would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone, and as you would expect as you are in the mountains you can be sure you are going to get the usual amount of midges.

We stayed at the Cae Du campsite for a week in beautiful hot weather!

This is a truly wonderful site and a secret in my opinion. It was virtually empty, yet it is so beautiful and tranquil. there seems very little advertising done to get people to stay here, yet once discovered it will be one of the most popular sites in Snowdonia!

We had a whole field to ourselves. Yes, the grass was a bit long and the midges like to come out and enjoy us as we enjoyed our barbeque, but we didn't worry about that too much. Some Lemon candles put paid to those critters.

The owners are very friendly and the place is spotless. It is also huge. They must own about 300 acres!

Can't recommend the place highly enough and am looking forward to going back in September!

This is a superb site - excellently run - our visit coincided with rain, lots of it! but the site remained clean and the toilets and showers remained clean, warm and dry. no shop and no gimmicks - thank goodness - just plain simple quiet open space, glorious views and welcoming owners. I visited with my son age 9 and, despite the rain, he has become a convert to camping - we will be back and recommend it to all seeking quiet enjoyment.

Went to Cae Du on bank holiday weekend. This site is huge!! There is loads of space and we had virtually a whole field to ourselves and the owners still put up a "full" sign which was great as then it was not overcrowded. The site is a ten minute walk into Beddgelert- good for a cracking ice cream shop, pretty village, three pubs (one dog friendly) and a reasonable riverside restaurant as well as a handy camping shop. Through the site you can walk along the river and the lake to reach the start of the Watkin Path up Snowdon.

The shower block is really nice- warm, clean and new-the downside is that the shower queues get really big and I sensed people were either getting fed up or just didn't bother having one!! The showers also close at 10pm, opening at 7am. However, that said, they are lovely showers but you can't stand in it for long as you are too aware of the other poor souls in the queue!
The only other downside to this site is the midges- it was pretty bad when we were there but the grass was a bit long perhaps and it is by a river and the weather at times was also quite muggy.

The site is set in an open valley so it can get quite windy (or very windy on that particular Saturday...there were a few tents replaced!!!).
This is a really great site in a fantastic location.

This is a fantastic campsite with excellent and very clean facilities (free showers), great views, friendly staff and loads of space. Quiet location yet only a short walk to Beddgelert. Probably the best campsite I have stayed at and will definitely go back.

Camped at Cae Du over the May bank holiday weekend. The campsite is set in a lovely valley with stunning views and although it was Bank holiday, there was plenty of space for everyone. The facilities are excellent although had to wait for showers. The showers are free and worth the wait through. The site is dog friendly and the owners are keen and willing to help when needed. Will definitely go again

I can't recommend Cae Du highly enough. The setting is beautiful, with mountains on every side, lots of conecting fields but with small dry stone walls so you feel like you are away from all the other campers. We have been here twice now and thouroughly enjoyed ourselves both times, despite the typical Britsh weather.

The owners are exceptionally helpful and the shower / toilet block is stunning, especially considering that you're on a camp site. They were adding washing/drying facilities when we last visited.

A beautiful stream running through the site and never been busy whenever we have been, probably because the owners like it that way.
