Fantastic site! Friendly owners and LOTS of space. We camped May Bank Holiday weekend and basically had the whole of one section of the field to ourselves!
Facilities were excellent. Laundry with a freezer for your ice blocks. Two showers in the main block and another 3 (I think!) showers in the potacabins in the middle of the site. Do not be put off by the exterior of these – the water in the portacabin showers was piping hot and they were spotlessly clean. However, we did find the water in the main showers was a tad cold!
This site is a little expensive but you get what you pay for – worth every penny.
Short walk along to river path to Beddgelert – very safe for families (and my little Jack Russell)!
Can’t wait to return in August!

We are brand new to camping and really loved this site. Very friendly owners, lovely and quiet and right beside the river. There are additional toilet and shower blocks though not permanent as the owners are tying to secure planning permission for this. It really doesn't matter though - the 'portacabin style' additional facilities are spotless and just as good as the permanent block near the entrance. Great place we're coming back again in a month's time as we loved it so much. Nice walks for Izzie the dog too!

Just returned from a brilliant weekend. We couldn't fault it at all. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. The walk by the river to Beddgelert is one not to be missed along with the ice cream shop. Toilets and showers lovely and clean. Would be happy to recommend thi site and will definitely return.

I can heartily endorse the previous reviewers' positive comments about the site, it's location and the very friendly staff. Initially we thought the price a little on the high side, but the shower block alone was absolutely clean and very fresh. Again, you gets what you pays for! Apart from a few bugs down by the river we had a pleasant and satisfactory stay. Whilst we were there we were very pleased to see that a continental style waste water/toilet service point, as seen in Europe, had been installed adding a very useful extra facility.
Motor caravanners please note!

My husband and I have been visiting this site for over 17 years and have watched it grow and improve to the benefit of all. Site owners Tony and Paula are very welcoming and extremely nice people.
The site itself is situated in some of the most spectacular scenery in North Wales. The river, Glas Llyn runs through the site. This offers the perfect opportunity for dam building and ideal spots for swimming and paddling alike. I have visited many sites over the years but this is the only one that has consistently drawn me back year after year.
The site offers facilities that are kept lovely and clean. Free showers, ample toilet facilities and a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Electric hook-ups are available.
Noisy groups are not welcome and dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Tony is keen to upkeep a quiet family oriented site and ensures this for the peace and enjoyment of all his campers.
The site is well placed geographically and there are ample places of interest to visit within easy driving distance such as Black Rock Sands in Porthmadog, Caernarfon, Llanberis to name but three.
A short walk along the river from the campsite brings you into Beddgelert village which is beautiful and offers lovely pub grub in the Prince Llewellyn hotel. However, be advised that none of the pubs serve alcohol on a Sunday! The village has adequate shops to stock up on essentials and post cards and souvenirs. For other shopping needs try Caernarfon where Morrisons can be found on the outskirts of a lovely seaside town or Porthmadog where you will find Tesco and a typical market town with a nice selection of gift shops.

One of the best Campsites we've visited
It's huge, unlike other smaller places, you never really feel on top of your neighbours even on a bank holiday. And you're not allotted plots right next to the people next to you
I cannot imagine them ever being full
Brilliant facilities with free and hot showers
Set in glorious countryside with a pretty walk to the village. Friendly staff as well
The only downside was even though the village is lovely with 3 pubs; not one of them is that good
True, you can get a decent pint of Robinsons, but the food we tried in 2 of them, the Saracens and The Prince Llewelyn was truly awful and dated.
(We were limited as we have dogs with us, perhaps the other places to eat were better) The Tanronnen Inn is not dog friendly, but it feels like a hotel lounge inside and the food was just ok
The ice cream shop in the village however is fantastic

This has to be one of the best sites we've stayed at yet. The campsite is set across several green fields, in a beautiful valley. We went in March when the weather was really cold, but we were always guaranteed a warm welcome from the people working on the site.
The facilities are good, a couple of warm and free showers for ladies and gents, plus plenty of toilets. These were all always extremely clean. You really got the impression that the people who own the campsite care about their visitors. They also have a limited licence so the site will never be too busy.
The village of Beddgelert is just a safe 5-10 minutes walk away. There are three pub / hotels there and various eating places. I'd heard the ice creams are amazing, but unfortunately the weather was just too cold!
If you're looking for a peaceful campsite in Snowdonian this is the place. Just remember your torch so you can find your way around. We'll hopefully be going back in the summer.

We had a very enjoyable visit here in August. There is plenty of space, very clean facilities, gorgeous views, and a the site was always peaceful. You can walk into Beddgelert, which has an excellent ice cream shop, along a pretty footpath. The river runs through the site and you may need plenty of insect repellent.

We spent two nights at this site as a trial. My wife had never been camping before. What attracted us to this site was the advert on it's website "If you want to party all night then don't choose this site" So, wanting a bit of peace and quiet we thought we'd give it a go. It certainly fulfilled its promise of a quiet site, very relaxing. The no music policy is strictly enforced. There was a purpose built washroom / shower block /toilets . Outside this block were several sinks for utensil washing with hot water. Also a few w/c's adjacent to this building. Across the site was a new portakabin type building housing more showers. Behind this was an old block of w/c's. On the outside was a utensil wash area with sinks, this only had cold water and was meant to double for hand washing after using the toilet. Yuk. Needless to say we always used the other block even though it was further away. We got an EHU pitch and were startled to be pushed into a corner in between two already pitched tents, but it never presented any real problems. The river nearby was in full flow and we enjoyed listening to it. I wont mention the midges as a problem, you just expect them when in the country, it isnt the fault of the site !. Plus points. Very quiet site, very clean facilities and site, very friendly staff, superb location. Minus points. Just the unhygenic arrangements at the old toilet block. Will we go back. YES definitely, very impressed overall

This was our first camping trip since buying our tent and what a lovely site to cut our teeth on! Site is easy to find in Beddgelert and we had a friendly welcome and were personally taken to our pitch by Tony and his infamous jokes! Were also offered an extension for our EHU if we needed it, how nice! Pitch was nice and flat, grassy and no mud. Views are amazing and the no music rule really helps to promote a relaxing atmosphere - all you can hear is the burble of the river, the sheep, and the odd car rumbling in the distance! Facilities were super clean, lots of hot water to wash ourselves and our dishes in. You can easily walk into Beddgelert via a country walk within 10mins, fantastic! Just remember to take a torch with you if you come back in the dark like us - its pitch black otherwise. Small selection of restaurants and pubs in sleepy Beddgelert, we went to the Bistro Saturday evening and had some lovely food. Don't miss the ice-cream shop too, it has the best ice cream I've eaten in ages! We also visited the camping shop - and had to be strict with ourselves so we didn't buy more camping stuff. I did see a grocers and a newsagents for your bits and bobs, but only 7 miles away is a massive Tesco in Portmadog if you need more. All in all a great weekend, would definitely return when we want a "get away from it all" break.
