We had a lovely week at this site. The biggest benefit is that it is really spacious - lots of fields, separated by natural hedges and wild areas, so you can pitch even a large tent where you want it and still have space around you. No numbered pitches or white lines here! Also, the location is excellent - there are views up into the hills all around the site, offering plenty of choices of long or short walks directly from your tent. All in all a really tranquil and relaxing site, carefully run to keep it that way.

In all a great weekend weather was good. The scenery was fantastic, went on some excellent walks. The campsite was clean and tidy well maintained, pitch where you like. Very peaceful and relaxing. Now for the only gripe, showers need to be more centrally located so as limit the distance of travelling to them. A good site for families and couples. will return.

Just returned from four days at Cae Du - beautiful location, superb facilities (spotlessly clean) and amazingly helpful owners in Paula and Tony. Example: ten minutes after our arrival our seven year old fell over and split her knee - requiring hospital treatment. Rather than watch us all traipse off to the local hospital Tony and Paula got out their car and Paula took mother and child to hospital (in Bangor). Four stitches and five hours later all returned safe and sound to the rest of the family on the site all ready for bed (it was almost midnight!) The site itself is lovely. Plenty of green open space for your frisbee to fly. There are endless walks on the doorstep and plenty of places to eat in Beddgelert.

Just spent an enjoyable three nights here and this site just gets better and better. Access road has been recently resurfaced and this time there were no midges. Such a clean well run site in terrific scenery. Owners are extremely welcoming and friendly. Facilities spotless. If you like music and noise until the early hours this is not for you, but if you want a really tranquil campsite you won't do better.

This is a campsite frequently used by my parents and they suggested that I took the children here and I am so glad I did! From the onset Tony and Paula (Owners) made us feel extremely welcome and Tony had my 2 boys (10 and 13 years) laughing with his jokes. The site was extremely clean and space was not a problem - there were no limitations on where you could pitch but if you did not require electric hook-up you were requested not to pitch in a hook-up slot. The cost was not too expensive and as a single parent this is an accounting factor! Free showers and hot water for washing up in a lovely well maintained heated block. Electronic cards to operate the entrance and exit barriers which are supplied for a returnable deposit with the main gate being locked at 10pm but only a short walk to your tent/caravan if you were late getting back from a days activities. The river that runs through the site was a firm favourite of my boys and kids from other campers as this was extremely clean and fresh and was used as a haven for swimming and the odd fisherman if he got the chance to get there first. A short walk from Beddgelert itself and starting point for some excellent walks, this site is situated just off the main road and is ideally located for local areas with the Sherpa bus running right past its gates. We had such a great time here that we went home for one week and then came back for a couple of weekends after that and today the kids have asked when we are going to see Tony and Paula again - so they clearly cant wait to go back! If you have a problem with gnats - pack a cream but they only seemed to gather near the river but there is no way some little midges are going to keep us away from this outstanding warm welcoming site.

This is the second time I have used this site and it is one of the best I have had the pleasure of using. Despite the rain early last week, the site was spot on as always and its fantastic location, helpful owners and clean facilities always ensure a good stay.

I am stunned at the amount of comments complaining about the showers! I have stayed in many campsites around Snowdon and most have only 2-3 total in unisex bathrooms! A lot of sites also meter the showers - so I have no complaints there! They were also the cleanest showers I have ever had the pleasure of using in a campsite! A beautiful location. Relatively flat pitches. Very close to the lovely village of Beddgelert and paths up to Snowdon. Very friendly and helpful owners. My only slightly negative comment would be that it is quite expensive - almost double what I pay in other near by sites, but as my Nan used to say "you gets what you pays for". I would definitely use this site again.

Very enjoyable stay at this campsite, easy to find and good base for the coast and Snowdonia. Was not expensive also nice and quiet even at this time of year. Clean facilities and plenty of nice walks nearby. Mention of Gnats has been made but we found they were more of a problem near the stream. Would recommend this site to anybody that wants a nice quiet site and enjoys the splendor of the mountains.

A very quiet site in a very picturesque location and the best thing is that most mobile phones have no signal here. The owners were very friendly and always seemed to be available. There was lots of room around the tent. The toilet block was spotless although with only two showers per for each sex there was a bit of a queue in the mornings. The village which was only a 10 minute walk away was very nice with a few shops and lots of places to eat. If your looking for a clean and very quiet site then this is the one for you.

Max and paddys grand UK tour, another site! Now having been to this site 4 times this year we thought it was well worth a review, simply stunning, location and its peace is unrivaled. Clean and simple its what camping is all about, my mate, sorry paddy! had a few grumbles about the showers ie a little wait but otherwise no problems. The Village is a place of few distractions ie commercialsim and thats the whole point about this site , DO NOT TAKE your mobile if you get a call stick it on busy and enjoy the view. Walking is well, superb. Pubs are good though , not too keen on the welly as its like the pub out of american warewolf! We named it the Slaughtered Lamb, very unfriendly! Food quite awful. The site is charming and allways spacious , the couple who own and run it must be truly commited and it shows, does that woman ever not stop cleaing the toilets! All in all, get to Millets and buy a twenty quid dome tent and get up thiere, enjoy the peace and quiet with some friends and do some walking, have a meal at Lynns Cafe and chill out its great. We're just planning and sorting out the first weekend that they open - that should illustrate how good it is!
