This was run by a very pleasant helpful family on a working farm ,the shop is full of fresh produce ,with a small cafe. Our Motor home lost a gear on the way to this site and on phoning to explain our delay ,the owners provided us with the address and phone number of a garage who could help us,we were also given a lift into the nearest chemist ,and the owner waited for us to do our shopping and take us back ,instead of waiting for a bus-how many people will do that for you these days? There is a steep but pleasant walk through woodland to a large sandy beach, takes about 10 mins down, and 20 mins back up over sand dunes, a bit difficult to negotiate if you are carrying babies/lots of paraphernalia. Very clean facilities, the only comment is to beware of the showers. They are good and hot but on a timer and as the timer runs out the hot switches off, blasting you in cold water. You just need to step out of range as the last seconds click off the timer. We will certainly be back to this site again.

What an amazing discovery! We chose this site because it was the nearest one to Swansea which we needed to visit family living there. When we got there we were rooted to the spot because of the beautiful view of the bay in front of us. We woke up every morning to that. The Beynons were lovely people and nothing was too much trouble, even let me borrrow her mobile phone because I couldn't get a signal on mine. The toilet and showers were true to their word and were immaculate. I cannot fault this campsite and we cannot wait to come back again.

Just had 5 days there with two boys (9 and 13) and some friends and would recommend the site despite the hill back to the tent (we chose our spot so only oursleves to blame) - even my old legs managed OK. Facilities were excellent and clean - although busy when the camp was full Saturday to bank holiday Monday. The farm shop was good for emergencies and also we had a nice snack there when we first got there. Staff were all friendly. Road behind our tent/the hedge was noisy at times (sometimes during night) but bearable. It helped that the weather was very good! The walk to the beach (very quiet) through the woods was good and was well worth it - "slight" incline on way back so I would not recommend carrying lots of beach stuff. On the whole a great break and we will definitely return soon so we can explore the area alot more.

At a lovely place! If you can pitch up on a flat area – there are no marked pitches, then you really have got a site made in heaven!A group of us went for 4 days; we were able to set up our own ‘micro’ camp complete with Mess Tent and had camp fires every night. It seemed that the toilets / showers were being cleaned (from Top to Bottom) at least 3 times a day and are tiled from throughout. 2 giant freezers and 2 giant fridges are situated in the dish washing area for you to use free of charge – brilliant idea! The café / shop are great: serving breakfasts / snacks and coffees throughout the day. General groceries also for sale. The beaches are amazing and quiet and vast, with plenty of walking to do. The whole place oozed a ‘Happy’ atmosphere and we will definitely go back.Top Tip – Get there early in the day to claim the flattest pitches!

Was recommended this site but was actually very disappointed. The family field flat areas were all full when we arrived so we had to go in the middle. By the next day we were surrounded - many too many tents all close by - no marked pitches and a long walk to the toilet blocks. Showers and toilets clean but we had to queue morning and evening to use the toilets. Great fridge and freezer facilities and nice shop. Beach nice but long sandy walk, very hilly!

Took my two kids for a weekend to this site. Luckily we were in the field furthest away from the road so it was quiet. Excellent beach, only about 70 people at midday. Could probably do with some more showers, although the queues weren't too bad.
I read some other reviews saying that the owners were hot on noisy people - a group of girls pitched next to us late on Saturday afternoon and were playing music ( not loudly ) when the owners came and asked them to turn it down!
Trek from the beach back up to the campsite was a bit of a climb, but would definitely go back.

Fab. Great shower block. Shop which as well as the usual camping 'food' also sold farm picked strawberries. Great family orientated atmosphere in the evening but all quietened down by 11-11.30. Owner on gate duty and saw him turn away one set of 'lads' which probably is what helped the atmosphere. Great views from top of field (until someone pitched in front of us). Not too many flat pitches and it got very full on the Saturday night. Good beach in walking distance but its a long old uphill walk back and there's nothing at the beach except sand and sea so might not be for everyone. Drive a couple of miles to the other end of the beach and there's a cafe, toilet etc but be aware what took 10 mins on a Saturday morning took nearly an hour on Sunday to get into car park. We only stayed two nights but will be going back.

This was my families first camping expedition and what a start. The facilities are great, though busy at peak times. The toilets are very clean though another block in the western field might not be a bad plan. It is relaxed and those who like peace and quiet after 9pm may not best pleased as it is a popular site. The slope of the field did lead to much amusement on the first night as my wife and I slid down to the end of the inner tent, but by the second night this wasn't an issue. Access to the beach is a good stretch of the legs but well worth it. We enjoyed it and will return, hopefully this year.

July 2005 On the plus side; great view of the sea, informal (unmarked pitches), good farm shop with fresh fruit and fruit smoothies, lovely walk down to the sea and great beach, well placed for exploring the Gower, the loos were really clean (cubicles with loo, sink and shower).
On the down side; we got put in the main field (behind the shop) where the only flat pitch was near the hedge at the back, our heads were 10 feet from the road. Now, this isn't the M25 and there was very little traffic at night, but it did spoil an otherwise tranquil setting. Could have done with some more loos as there were often people in them showering. Would have been nice to have a tap in the field - take a big container with you.

August 2004 We have been to this site many times and have found it one of the friendliest sites we have stayed at.
The sloping fields and the hike through the woods to the beach may not be to everyone's tastes or abilities but these are more than compensated by the lovely setting and the warmth of welcome from the Beynon family.
Our children come here every year and they never tire of it. There are no silly or petty rules. There is no need for petty rules because the campers are treated wirh respect and they in turn respect the facilities and the other campers. Where problems have arisen ( V rare) they have been dealt with swiftly and tactfully by the owners.
A beautiful part of the country - except I really don't want any more people knowing about it or we won't get in !!!
