July 2004 Also known as Beynons farm ( remember if asking locals as thats what its known as!) this site is basic but offers good no frills camping and caravanning. Where possible all caravans are together on one field and tents in the other three. There are several hook up pitches for tents however these are on a quite steeply sloping field so if you can manage without hook up that may be wise and stay on a more level pitch on one of the other tent fields. Loo blocks are small but well appointed but could get very busy in high season and possibly would not cope with demand! There are only two washing up sinks ( both indoors) which are very good quality but again in high season, expect a queue. One plus point is that the showers and washing up water is always lovely and hot. Showers are coin operated ( 20p for 3 mins) but this seems to be to deter beach vistors from using the facilities for free in high season. When we visited there was no need to use a 20p piece. Beyons farm is a pick your own fruit farm and the prices are very reasonable the shop also offers ices and a full range of vegetables all reasonably priced. Sadly they dont offer bread, milk or other essentials which we thought was a shame. The nearest shop is at Knelston garage a 5 minute drive away. One huge plus point to this site are the free industrial sized fridges and freezer available for campers use. situated at the rear of the shop all are welcome to leave their shopping in them, labelled and these can be acessed day and night. Had we known that these existed Id have left the hook up at home.
The walk to the beach takes around 10 minutes but is well worth it, take everything you need with you though! The climb back up to the site is quite steep and its a long way if you forget anything! It isnt suitable for pushchairs or people with mobility difficulties either. The dunes and woods are great for exploring with your children though! Were looking forward to a return visit in the future

June 2004 Beautiful situation overlooking bay. The site is not level and this made for uncomfortable nights as we slid down the tent! Toilets and showers immaculate but a longish walk from our field. The beach is wonderful - not for the infirm or pushchairs - it's a steep walk down and even steeper back - not sensible to try and carry lots of stuff or to 'pop back' for anything you've forgotten - and no facilities like loos down there. Farm shop selling lovely fruit and veg and pick your own also available.

August 2003 Good campsite - clean and well spaced out and quiet. Beach is fantastic and almost empty even in August. Beware the walk to and from the beach if you have little children and lots of gear! It is extremely steep and just when you think you are at the beach, you have some very large sand dunes to get over, which are a killer on a hot summer day! Beach is great when you get there, but be prepared to go for the day as you do not want to 'pop back' for things - no facilities at the beach like toilets etc.
The people at the campsite are extremely friendly and helpful and I can't fault their service

August 2003 Open fields with no marked pitches, 1 field with single point hook ups around perimeter effectively determined the layout, 2 additional fields without hookups mainly used by tents, quite a slope on the camping fields, no levelled or hardstanding pitches. Pitches all open, not screened from each other but this meant everybody had the fantastic views of Oxwich Bay. No formal play area but plenty of room for games in centre of fields. Brand new facility blocks. Pitch fees £13 pn inc hookup (Aug 03), 20p for showers. Probably the closest site to the beach in that part of the Gower although still quite a steep walk back up, but worth it. Farm shop for fruit, sweets, sandwiches but no milk bread or meat. Best meat go into Kiwelly. No pubs in walking distance but worth a five minute drive the best eating out is at the King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldsen, superb food and service, don't bother with the Gower Inn.

August 2003 An excellent campsite. Two fields for tents with plenty of space and no set pitches, so you can camp where you want to. Good facilities - showers, hairdryers, toilets, washing-up facilities all clean, tidy, modern and well maintained. And what a beach!! Absolutely stunning, very quiet even in the middle of the school holidays, and less than a 10 minute walk from the campsite.

June 2003 We were recommended this site by a friend and it was very good. On a working farm (with pick-your-own fruit farm as well) it has one big field for caravans and another for tents. Not the flattest but not bad. Nice new shower block in the farmyard has shower rooms with shower, basin and toilet in - perfect if you have little kids you need to keep an eye on. It is a 5 minute walk down through the woods to the beach, from where it is a half hour walk along to the Oxwich bay hotel (food recommended). Good for families.
