After having spent a couple of nights at this site last year, my son and I spent a week revisiting it, mainly due to the local archery / falconry centre.
The site is well run, well organised, and has excellent facilities. There's a bit of a slope to contend with, but nothing too outrageous. The toilet blocks are modern (more on those later), and the shop is well stocked and reasonably priced.
Oxwich Bay is about 20 minutes walk down the hill, and is a superb, safe, clean beach. When the tide is out there are some good rock pools to explore, and you can walk around to Three Cliffs Bay.
Worms Head is about 15-20 minutes drive away, and Swansea about the same.
My only criticisms of the site would be that the shower rooms really do need a mop supplied. The floors get very muddy, and so I spent a good 10 minutes each day wiping the floor down with toilet paper to make sure we had a clean floor to step out onto. The shower is 20p for 3 1/2 minutes, which is doable, just don't expect to spend too long washing yourself down.
A further criticism would be that in this modern age, wifi would be a nice touch. The mobile phone reception is patchy, and at times non-existent. A wifi connection would be a welcome addition, especially considering the pitch price (which charges extra for pretty much everything).
Overall though, a lovely site, in a lovely location.

Lovely site and location with great views over Oxwich Bay. The facilities were a high standard and kept nice and clean. We would definitely return.
The shop on site has some basic essentials as well as home grown fruit and veg when in season and enough ice cream and treats to keep the kids happy.
The beach isn't far away although it is a steep climb but it's a cracking beach. We even picked up
Fresh cockles and clams at low tide and cooked them for tea. Brilliant!
Highly recommended.

Booked this site for a short family break over the weekend. All I can say is what a site. Arrived late on the Friday evening was greeted by a lovely woman in reception who said we could pitch on any of the pitches in the bottom camping field as we booked electrical hookup which I thought was awesome, it aint often you can do this and the site was busy. The site entrance is controlled by a key card barrier this gives you a little peace of mind. The pitches were sloping gently but the hookup pitches are pretty level as they are cut into the slope. Being in the bottom camping field there is a short walk to the toilets didn't really bother us as the weather was fantastic the toilets are very clean and up to date showers brilliant and on a token meter.
There is a shop and cafe which is fantastic sells local picked fresh veg and fruit from the farm which again went down well with us, the breakfasts are brill by the way. Also freshly made smoothies.
The site has direct access to the beach at oxwich bay which is simply stunning, the beach was not at all busy not too bad a walk down but a proper walk up but in my opinion was well worth the walk. The site is a fantastic well kept and clean and was nice to book onto a site which everywhere you look campers were having fun outside in the evenings as we have booked onto some who don't allow this in my opinion that's what camping is surely about.
I have only 2 minor gripes and they are minor or its me just being picky (1) the ground we found was very hard for knocking pegs in so bring proper ones as I bent over 20 and (2) the showers are 20p I thought that could be included in the booking price I think I know why they have token meters, in the toilet block we used there were only two showers to supply a few fields I heard there were more around the corner in the other toilet block but the time is 3 mins per shower for me with no hair not a problem but my wife not enough time. Think they could put more showers in, but again I think its me just being picky.
Will be returning again though as this really is one of the best sites we have been on with owners that make you welcome big thumbs up nicholaston farm cant wait to return.

I have been coming to this site for many years and it never lets me down. Friendly service, peaceful site with excellent views from the caravan field.
Excellent ultra clean toilet and shower blocks. Very clean and useful utility area and laundry, with drying facilities. + shop selling basics and a cafe.
The walk down through the woods and dunes to the excellent Oxwich bay makes it the perfect site to leave the car behind. Might be difficult with very young children though especially coming back up! You can't use a pushchair as the sand through the dunes is too soft.

This is a top secret review, you can only read this review if you are not going to this campsite because we want to visit again but it is always very busy. We now know why - with the spectacular view over Oxwich bay and surrounding coastline. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the café carried a 5 star hygiene rating. The shop has to be one of the best stocked shops for fresh fruit and veg. The toilets were immaculate and thank you to the staff that kept them that way. We were lucky to have had very hot weather and will return.

We stayed here over bank holiday weekend and had a fantastic time, helped by the lovely weather. The site is in a stunning location overlooking Tor Bay and Oxwich Bay. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and the cafe seemed to be doing a roaring trade, particularly on breakfasts. The facilities were very modern and spotlessly clean. The pitches for caravans/campervans were all hardstanding and generously sized.
We spent a lot of time on Tor Bay and also walked to Oxwich Bay which has toilets and a couple of beach cafes selling drinks and snacks. We walked some of the Gower Coastal Path which runs right past the site.
All in all a wonderful site in a beautiful location. As other visitors have mentioned though it is a shame that they charge extra for everything including children's tents.

Fantastic site! we were met by a very nice Welsh gentleman, who was very helpful.
There are three fields. Even though it is on a hill the pitches are Terraced. We were in the Hard standing field, and didn't need our chocks. The other two fields were closed, probably because it was out of season and very quiet.
Just the one block was open, with one toilet with a sink and three shower rooms with toilet and sink. The others door was locked but assumed it was another shower room. Next door in the laundry block there was a row of locked rooms I assume were unisex toilets. Behind this it just gets better. Industrial dryers and washing machines, a top load spinner dryer, Dryer wardrobes and loads of fridge and freezer space. It was obvious the owners have put a lot of thought into making your stay as comfortable as possible.
There was a cafe but it was closed because it was out of season.
The views are fantastic! Loads of walks down to the beach. You can walk to Oxwich bay either through the gate at the bottom of the hard standing field or there is a track just outside the sites gate. You can also walk to three cliffs via the same gate.
Would recommend this site and look forward to using it again.

Simple three fields with nicely spaced semi-hard semi-level standings;. About £23/ night for two adults in a caravan or motorhome; plus extra for almost anything else.
The sits at the top of the cliffs so excellent views over Oxwich Bay —especially from the top of the site—but windy there.
Quite basic, small food shop with deliveries of mostly baps. The people at the shop do bake a small number of part-baked frozen loaves each day—the brown bloomer was crusty and tasty if eaten within hours of baking. The café, which closes mid Sept, does breakfast and sells pasties and sausage rolls which might be useful for a picnic or to take back for a quick meal. The café has TV on all the time so we didn’t eat there. There is no visiting fish and chip van.
The camp has no wi-fi but ‘3’ mobile network is just about usable so you can get online with a broadband dongle.
Gas not avail so if it runs out, and you are in a motorhome, you have to pack up and drive off to either the nearest garage several miles away or the nearby Three Cliffs campsite.
Two nice clean fresh toilets and shower blocks. Excellent laundry and cabinets to dry wet walking gear. Very friendly and helpful staff—especially Anna.
During the week it seemed popular with walkers and owners of elderly motorhomes. There were even some younger outdoorsy couples. But come the weekend then the hordes arrive from the south Wales towns. Expect plenty of tattoos, piercings, and in the case of our neighbour an ‘attack dog’.
In the touring field, there is a large central ‘green’ which gives a feeling of spaciousness. Unfortunately it is used by dog owners (everyone on this site seemed to have at least two dogs) as a toilet area. And if you are parked on the opposite side of the green to the showers then you have to walk across the green, often in your flipflops—not nice.
Really good bus connection to all parts of Gower just outside the gate of the campsite; including the northwest on Sundays—but they don't accept English bus passes. A day-pass is £4. 50.
So in summary; one of the best sites we have stayed at, friendly staff, great view, good buses, good toilet blocks. You might want to avoid weekends in season though.

We stayed at this campsite over the August bank holiday, and had a great time. The location was brilliant, just a 5-10 minute walk away over the sand dunes to Oxwich Bay, and a lovely walk over the cliffs to 3 Cliffs Bay. It's also just a quick walk up to the ridge to meet up with the Gower way, which is definitely worth doing.
There were three large fields to camp in, and we were in the one nearest the beach but furthest from the toilet block. It was on quite a slope, but it wasn't a problem for us, and it was lovely and sheltered. The only allocated pitches were the ones with electric hook-up, but there was plenty of space (even though they were fully booked for the weekend) and we didn't feel crammed in. It's a very family-orientated campsite.
The facilities were generally good, with a small shop and cafe on site, and fridges and freezers that you could use. The only small problem that we noticed with the site was that there was only one small shower and toilet block for 3 fields of campers, meaning that at peak times they got very busy. Also, many of the cubicles were self-contained bathrooms, which was quite nice but isn't the most efficient. Also, you had to pay for showers, which always annoys me a bit as you are already paying for the campsite!
Overall we were very happy with this campsite, and would definitely stay here again - earlier in the year next time so that we could take advantage of the pick-your-own farm.

After my young sons induction into camping in England and Scotland, I decided on a short break to Wales, and due to it's location on the Gower Peninsula, chose Nicholaston Farm.
The site states that summer holiday bookings must be of 4 nights or more, but we only wanted two. After a phone call to the site, it was confirmed that we could indeed have a 2 night stay.
The site is quite pricey compared to a lot of others, and charges for pretty much every extra or option, including children's tents etc. I can understand this when the site is crowded and busy, but a little leniency would be appreciated when things are quieter. My son brought his small play tent with him (a little two man tent), but I was reluctant to put it up at a cost of an extra fiver a night.
The site slopes considerably, and if you pitch on the high ground in the tent field, you are over the other side of a hedge from the main through road on the Gower, so it can be a little noisy with lorries passing by a few feet away. It rained heavily during our stay, and things got a little muddy, but once things dried up it was a lot more pleasant.
The site shop was excellent, with a good range of essentials, but we didn't try the cafe facility. All was clean and well presented.
The utility room was clean and tidy, with a couple of large fridges and a huge chest freezer for food and freezer packs.
The showers were excellent, and although limited in number, we never had to queue. They were little self contained rooms with toilet, sink and shower. The shower was 20p for about 3 1/2 minutes, and this was ok, but 5 minutes would be better when you are also trying to shower a 5yo. A mop or squeegee would also be useful, as I found myself having to clean the wet muddy floors with toilet roll so we had a clean floor to step onto out of the shower. One other useful addition would be a fold down table in each shower room for putting bits and pieces on, rather than having to balance things on the sink.
The beach was a ten minute walk away down a sandy woodland trail, and some would find the walk back a bit of a challenging climb. The beach was excellent, with a huge expanse of sand, and lots of rock pools to explore. We saw everything from kites and horse riders, to climbers and a running club using the sandy beach.
In all, the only thing that really put a damper on it was one wet day, and it can get very very windy on the site. Then again, this can be true of pretty much any coastal site.
If the site either lowered its prices by a couple of pounds, or allowed a limited range of extras to be included in the price, then I'd say it was excellent value for money. Location-wise, it's excellent, and in a superb location for some good days out.
