Helpful staff started the holiday off well. The site is very well maintained with brilliant access to the coastal path and beaches (, if a little steep at times).

The facilities are clean an well cared for. The area is beautiful. We will definitely return.

What a friendly welcome! This set the tone for our stay and we were not disappointed! Good hard standing pitches in the Caravan Field with room to pitch awning. Facilities excellent and kept immaculately clean.

Fabulous laundry room with 2 industrial size washer/ dryers plus large drying cabinets, good covered washing up area, even lockers to charge mobile phones!

A small shop that sells essentials and a lovely cafe to eat in /take out. Great for dog walking along the cast towards Three Cliffs or to the beach, quite a steep walk down through the dunes- well worth the effort.

Had lunch at the Oxwich Bay, hotel prices but there are snack bars near the surfing school and an upmarket restaurant on the beach. We loved it - dog walking/ hiking heaven, would definitely return and recommend as such!

We spent a night here in June 2018, having last visited in about 2005! The site has changed but in lots of good ways - more showers, better shop, levelled pitches in the shop field.

The location of the site is brilliant - being able to walk down through the woods to Oxwich Bay means no hassles of getting in the car & finding space in a car park on a busy weekend. The beach is plenty big enough to find a space on and the walks along the coastal path are stunning.

The shower and toilet facilities are outstanding - underfloor heating in the sensor operated showers, plenty of hot water and the facilities were immaculate during our stay. Freezers, mobile phone charging etc are all available and the washing up facilities are good too.

The cafe isn't cheap but it is good, and you are on the Gower after all!

Best of all the family who run it are so welcoming and accommodating, even when it is busy. It makes such a difference to deal with nice people - thanks to everyone for a lovely stay and we promise not to leave it another 13 years until we visit again.

Fantastic views of the sea, because the camping field is on a hill! (Where we were).

Subsequently our tent was not totally flat and when I was in my sleeping bag I looked up at my husband as he was a bit higher up! Also the crows on our field woke up en mass and us as well at 5:30 am. Apart from the levelling of the field, it is a nice enough field, basic but maintained.

Decent pitches but not overly huge and not well separated. A bit of a rise whilst driving in the car up to the pitch and at the bottom of the hill, quite a gradient to get to the main road which just catches on the underneath of the car. The junction out on to the main road is not good.

There was another field lower down but we did not stay there. On the photos it looks very close to the beach, but in fact it is about 45 mins to an hour away, through the forest and over sand dunes.

It’s a nice enough site, but because the roads are so twisty and narrow at some points and the walk to the beach and pitches on the hill we wouldn't go back.

May Half Term break and what a fantastic site this turned out to be, despite being absolutely full.

The family and staff are extremely efficient, but also friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble.

The showers and toilets were spotlessly clean all the time we were there and they are not closed for cleaning at any time of day, the staff just work around the visitors. Plus there were no queues, the facilities seemed to cope despite the site being full.

The cafe is a delight and I highly recommend the pastries, smoothies and Shmoo plus the pots of tea!

There is a large freezer which easily accommodated all the cooly packs and a bank of fridges for food (not alcohol). The washing up sinks had loads of hot water and plenty of space.

They have a facility for charging phones up in lockers something which I've never seen before and was a great plus point. That and the free wifi across the site for keeping up with social media updates etc.

The beach is an absolute delight - it's huge and the walk down through the woods is lovely although it is slightly steep coming back up, but well worth the effort in my opinion.

They allow dogs as long as they are on a short lead and it was great to see so many and they were ALL well behaved.

We very seldom return to the same site twice, but I think we'll be making an exception here!

Site has limited facilities for the price charged! However we were particularly impressed with the very clean shower/toilet blocks with touch control showers. Access to the site is reasonable.

The pitches are large. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The site is dog friendly and this is clearly emphasised by the unpleasant and all pervading smell of dog faeces. The trails (coastal Path) around the site are littered with dog droppings thrown to the sides of the paths, a lot of it bagged. This spoiled the whole experience and we would not stay here again because of it, which is a shame as it is a nice site and ideally placed for visits to the local beaches and Swansea City Centre.

Excellent site with stunning views over Bristol Channel to Devon/ Somerset coast - and in close reach of all parts of Gower beach / coastline. There are two fields - caravans with many flat all weather pitches and tents with flat terracing to take large tents.

Efficient electric hook-up facilities allowing for use of tent/awning heaters. Probably the best wash facilities we have found and all under cover. One large block with heated floor (attached to excellent café / shop / reception area) and one with several all in one (toilet, basin, shower) cubicles. All showers have hands free electronic temp / on-off operation!

There is even a large drying room to dry outdoor clothing after a wet day walking! Plenty of dishwashing space.

Staff are all cheery and very helpful. Perfect

Fantastic campsite in a first class location.

Excellent, very clean facilities. Great cafe and shop. Walk down to the beach, where you can walk to Oxwich along the sand, and Three Cliffs if the tide is out.

Just perfect in my opinion.

 NEGATIVE

Access to the beach from the camp-site is treacherous !

The camp website, (& indeed several of the reviews here) seriously underplay how difficult it is to get to that beautiful beach from this camp-site; you won’t be able to use a baby buggy if you have young kids for example.

If you are over 30, you will need to either drive off-site to get safely to the beach, (parking may then be a problem) or you should invest in some Leki, (or Eurohike) walking poles from Millets. If you elect to walk from the camp-site there are several paths, (not well maintained) down through the woods, (full of biting insects day & night !) only one of those has steps set part of the way down, with several ‘drops’ then still to overcome en route. The dunes then are a final & real steep hurdle to overcome.

NEGATIVE

The camp website Gallery picture is out of date for the Shop.

They no longer have one of the Stalls or supply Bananas & apples, it has been replaced by a large Ice Cream fridge instead. Yes they have Bread, Pain au chocolate, & in the fridge, Pasties, Cheese, Milk, Bacon, & on the Friday when we left, we saw some Burgers & kebabs.

The food shelves though fell short of what you’d expect to see available in a camp shop, yes there were some condiments, tinned mushy peas, & strangely some pickled onions. However the ‘usual’ selection of tinned food, (carrots, ‘proper peas, ’ potatoes, beans etc. ) were missing, & why stock spaghetti pasta, without tinned tomatoes for example ?

NEGATIVE

The Gallery picture shows this - In the Showers the soap dish ‘ cage’ is annoyingly poorly positioned for people taller than 5'4” as in it’s in your face !

POSITIVE

Yes that beach is fantastic !

The site is clean & tidy, as are the shower blocks

The pitches are generous in size

Some pitches have an excellent view of the bay

The staff are friendly

Fantastic site which lives up to all the fantastic review even during busy August week. Absolutely first class location with a great walk through walk and dunes down to a great beach!

The toilets / showers were cleaned regularly and there was generally a small team of cleaners there constantly to ensure that the toilets and showers were all spotless. Best facilities for charging mobiles and tablets that I have come across with little lockers to ensure security. Lots of huge fridges and a giant freezer.

There were even free bin bags in the washing up area to help keep the site clean. The top of the wood field got a bit muddy but they put down metal sheets to help solve any problems with cars getting stuck. The site supplied a useful little map on arrival to let you know how to get to beach etc.

Good signs in campsite to direct to beach. Really enjoyed our stay here and impressed with the site even during a busy August week. Could not fault the site really.
