This was our third new year at Riverside and the first one to disappoint :( Elsan point was blocked and over flowed ( due to freezing weather and people still using it despite it being full ??? why ?surely if its so blocked its better to take inside and empty down the loo ??) warden when made aware quickly cleared it.

Lots of road works going on and the heavy diggers etc have to go past the caravans at an early hour ( I'm on holiday 8am is too early) this wouldn't be so bad if they didn't make the caravan rock ( not just ours we checked several times to ensure the legs were fully down)

We went mainly for the New years entertainment and the bar. The bar we were informed would be shut on the 29th ( my birthday !)and 30th surely the busiest 2 days for people arriving ? ( 20 to 30 units arrived on those 2 days ) I assume it was closed due to being a Monday and Tuesday ?. The lovely lady that runs the bar managed to organised it so she was allowed to open on these days but such bad planning. ( we made other arrangements as they knocked on caravans to inform people they would be opening)

If you had booked on site and not pre purchased your New Year tickets then you would luck out as they had sold all tickets but not offered them to tourers that booked ( I had checked in advance but some hadn't )

Bar was very cold as the only heating they had was a big gas industrial space heater which was not giving out enough heat to heat the room.

Entertainment (singer)was disappointing no get up and go to get us up and going. Nice buffet.

Shop closed as was the arcade and cafe. All in all a disappointment.

Very doubtful if we will return.

Childrens play areas are lovely.

Spent several breaks here and each time see further improvements.

Located as near to Southport as possible.

Grounds are always very clean.

Kids play area is very tidy.

Tents are no longer allowed, trying to attract a better type of customer. Not meaning all people owning tents are trouble.

Showers are hot and clean.

Elsan are always clear with functioning water.

Park well kept, grass always kept cut and no rubbish

Dropped on the park.

Club needs a little work but still passable.

Got a bargain got 4 nights for the price of 2 (£60)

Lovely site, park is lovely and we are placed close to park. Electric hook up, however had to pay extra if I wanted water supply too.

Toilet block is large and kept clean and tidy, cleaners were always about. Pitch was lovely, tidy and grass maintained. Went to the club on the second night for entertainment (comedy show)and it was fun.

Shop on site is well stocked but expensive £2 for a loaf of bread not brand name.

The pool is lovely and clean, very modern and the sauna and steam room look very inviting! only problem is you have to book in advance to go swim/sauna and you only get 45 mins. Well by the time you have got changed, its not very long! was only 3 other families in when we went and we were still kept to the 45 mins. I would understand if it was very busy, but it wasn't.

Overall I loved this site and would definitely return!

Two night stay for two adults and one 7 year old child. Arrived during awful weather on Friday. We called reception to ask for warden to confirm we were in correct spot (Pitches have been changed slightly to allow much more room than when we previously visited), warden arrived quickly to confirm pitch and also very kindly helped us set the awning up. During heavy rain!

Toilet and shower block always clean and accessible.

Swimming pool was open until late on the Friday so we got to go after pitching up.

The only thing that I would improve is the Arcade, most of the machines are empty or switched off :-(

Just spent four nights at riverside, two dogs plus two grand kids. Had a great time. Plenty of space for kids and a good dog walk. Play areas good. Pool is great, so is the sauna. All in all had a great time. You really have to take the reviews with a pinch of salt, one thing but this is just me, I would like a covered seating area so I could have a drink at the bar with the dogs.

Lovely site was quiet being out of season facilities clean and well maintained shop on site

Had a nice relaxing weekend didn't use much of the facilities on site as we were with friends so the kids made their own entertainment

You need to leave a £20 deposit for pass on arrival the site was being updated when we were there so some bits were shut off

Wanted to try van out in the winter, so booked 5 days at this site. Most things on site were closed including 2 of the 3 toilet blocks. Only thing open was the Bar at night, but we didn't use so can't comment. We booked a superior pitch, which had a tap and that was it. No grey waste or TV point. The pitch was very small, if we had put the awning up, we would have had to put car on the small grass area. There were a few van on site which looked as if people lived in them. The showers were large and hot but only stayed on for 10 sec. The play parks were good and my two enjoyed them. Would not return as not a lot to do in winter and pitch size too small. In summer I would think this park would be very lively and too cramped for us. Should have read the other reviews before I Booked.

Do not stay here with children. Bad language, fighting, arguing, people being sick and threatening behaviour. Pitches terrible, uneven and muddy. On arrival we couldn't locate our pitch as it wasn't numbered. All pitches are realy close together and crowded. The swimming pool had to be pre-booked first thing in the morning which wasn't ideal. Loud music was played constantly and we couldn't sleep for the duration of our visit. Many dogs were not kept on leads and were just left to roam and foul wherever they liked. Would never visit this site again.

This was our second time on this site and we were egear to return having had such a great time here on our last visit.

What a disappointment! ! !

( I try to pride my self on being honest ) please feel free to read my other reviews.

After one nights stay we were ready for home, this time when we were on site we felt out of touch, no one smiled, it was hard to be spoken to generally not a very pleasant clientèle.

It was like a free for all and with no restrictions on who or what turned up to the site! transit vans, commercial vehicles towing caravans, plenty of 47kg red gas bottles and there was never a shortage of pegs for sale ( clothes pegs that is ) or lucky heather !

We just could not belive how much different the site was regarding the last time we visited. We carnt work out which visit was the more accurate one, regarding shall I say fellow caranavers?

Sorry but we wont be back, we have enough pegs and felt out of place having road tax on our vehicle.

Just left this site and would never dream of returning, left early reasons:- very unkept park, we were there for 9 days and grass never cut or tidied once. Toilets were not the best, showers poor, cleanliness could have been better. Facilities, cafe, shop, amusements not the cleanest either. Pool, no supervision, have all the rules but no-one to carry them out, only one person on the entrance door and he only ' popped into the pool area a couple of times'.

Evenings:- children running riot up to and after midnight, again the park has the rules but no-one sees them through. This park seems to be only interested in 'sited caravans' and packing as many tents in as possible. All in all for the money paid not a lot of returns.
