We (wife son aged 9, and me) stayed here over the early may bank hol, and we were glad we did !
Good points. (there isnt enough room to list them all)
At least 2 play parks for the kids, free swiming pool sauna hot tub steam room. (you have to book numbers/room is limited). Good sized arcade, good sized shop and very well priced cafe all close to one another ( there is two/three bars but we didn't go to these )
Pitch size was more than ample ( we had a service pitch with water hook up, NO GREY MAINS so take your waste water container with you) our unit is 26ft and my mistake was to pitch then try to connect the water up ! next time I will connect water and move unit so it reaches the tap is at the rear of pitch!
This is a very well run large site that our son loved and was kept entertained all weekend, there is plenty of space for all to pitch and even though is was bank hol there was still a few pitches vacant but even if these was full I am sure the site would not feel crowded, there is plenty of space for everyone.
We went to southport for the afternoon and the wife loved the range of shops that was there to be acquainted, plus (i feel) a smallish arcade and a pier. We could see blackpool from the pier at southport.
Bad points.
The site is clean and well kept however I feel in 2-3 years time this site could feel outdated and not modern at all. Could do with extending the range of wifi (even if it occurs a charge)
Would we return here again, YES definitely. There are far too many good points for US as a family and our needs. Cheapish to pitch, close enough home 1hr20min, southport is small enough not to spend a fortune with the kids, but blackpool is not far up the coast if we want more action.
Keep up the great work (just keep one eye out on the decore if over looked you'll soon be left behind by the competition.

After checking online for prices on this site, I thought it was a good deal that they were advertising £11 per night, inc hookup for tourers. The website shows a picture of a car towing a caravan, with a slash price of £11 per night. Which is about the going rate for this time of year, after half term holidays. I travelled about 40 miles to get here, I didn't book because I knew there wouldn't be many tourers about with families, one week after half term. When I arrived, I asked for two nights stay, the young lady on reception, who was extremely polite, asked for £54. I was a little stunned, as £27 per night, in the winter season, is daylight robbery for one person in a motorhome. I told her about the offer they were displaying on their website, of which she had no idea. When she checked online, and saw their own offer, she could not contact the manager, so she asked me to site myself, and call in to reception later to sort things out. This I did, I was then told that the offer was for seasonal pitches only, ie if you kept your unit there all year. I did not agree with their interpretation of their own offer, they then said I could stay for £15 per night. I informed them I would be contacting Lancs trading standards.
I decided to stay for just one night, because the gents toilets were closed for refurbishment, and the ladies toilets and showers had become unisex. All the grass pitches had been covered in soil, and the whole place appeared to be in disarray. What did appear to be functioning normally was the massive amusement arcade, Coffee shop was closed, as were other amenities. I have taken photos to back my complaint to trading standards, and a screen grab of their website. In conclusion, I have to say that this site is grossly overpriced, in an area that is not particularly beautiful, the stream that runs through the site, compares more to an open sewer than a river. Being a member of the C&CC, and used to the quality of their sites, this place is not in the same league. If you want to throw money away, and have the kids pestering you for money for the amusements, stay here. If you care about where you stay, look elsewhere.
I will post the results of Lancs trading standards investigation at a later date.

We stayed here for 3 nights and took advantage of the Sun Newspaper offer so it only cost us £15 for the 3 nights with electric! For the price we paid we cannot complain. The site is a bit weathered and could do with a lick of paint in certain areas. The shower / toilet blocks were ok but could do with being cleaned a little more. Outside the shower blocks there were fag ends and it needed a good sweeping. I had spotted a dirty nappy on the grass verge on our first day and it was still there on our last day so cleaning needs to be improved!
The ehu pitches are on top of eachother whereas the non ehu pitches have a lovely big field with trees, which looked much better.
There is a nice cafe and shop on site and a small amusement arcade. The number 47 bus stops right outside the site which takes you to southport or onwards to Liverpool. Day Saver is £4. 60.
Overall the site was ok I have stayed at better sites but for the money we paid it was ok. I have read reviews saying that weekends are noisy so with that in mind I would only stay in the week.
The staff were friendly.

Took our grandchildren for a weekend. Nice welcome. However the 'nice' stopped there. We were only there 10 minutes and 3 older children decided to walk right past our door. Toilets were cleaned at 12, but by 1 were covered in toilet paper. Had to flush every toilet. Far too many seasonal pitches, which looked about 30 years old.
Grass very long, and needed mowing.
Club ok, arcade ok. Shop ok. They are the plus points.
Toilet block was wrecked at 0230. Whilst we were there. Needless to say we never visited it again.
Very very loud music played until late in the night by people in the tent pitches. Rubbish left everywhere. Never saw a warden all weekend.
This is and will be a once only visit.

We have just returned from 2 night at this site after visiting last year and unfortunately things were not great.
First of all, I received a call on the Friday (about 3 hours before we were due to leave) telling us that the Cannon and Ball show due on the Saturday night had sold out. Now I have got nothing against Tommy and Bobby, but it is fair to say that this was not the reason we booked but I was concerned that we were unable to get in the family room which my daughters enjoyed last time. I was assured that the lounge bar could be used and they had a singer on. What they didn't say was the the lounge bar was a poor version of a working men's club with just as many locals. To say we were made to feel unwelcome is an understatement. At one point one of the locals felt the need to go out of his was to say 'excuse me, I think you are in the wrong place, the family room is through there'. A pretty strong hint I would say.
We arrived late and the lighting was absolutely appalling. My wife had to guide me in as I reversed with a torch. The pitch itself was a decent size and flat but this only applies to the hard standing, the grass pitches are very cramped. Good point over. The grass had not been cut for weeks, the water tap had spiders and webs all over it and the tap was pretty much useless. The main toilet block was great last time we went but the toilet block were we were basic and contained more species of insects than an episode of The Really Wild Show. I didn't bother using it for a shower. Also, I have never been to a site where so many people like having fairy lights on their caravan.
The site is not cheap and I hope they take on board the feedback on here and being given first hand by some regulars as I left. It is such a shame because the location is great and Southport is lovely. It takes an hour for us to get here and it would make a lovely getaway if the right level of care is shown to the site.

Very, Very disapointing
Booked to stay the evening of Friday 3rd of August and Saturday 4th August 2012, and having spent the worst night camping in over five years of regularly camping left at 9am on Saturday morning, could not bare to stay the second night
Plus points: Easy to find and close to Southport, but unfortunately that is it.
Kept awake all night by loud music, drunken adult behaviour and a multitude of other unbelievable and unacceptable events.
The toilet / shower block whilst being sufficient, was not clean and had gangs of youths hanging around late at night
The road next to the pitch was very close (around 12 inches)
The pitch was hard to find as the concrete slab within the grass was very hard to identify, especially in a Car !
Overall a big let down, and can't express to strongly how this site should not be part of your choice if you want to spend some quality time with family members

Dont go here its appalling. The ground is constantly flooded. Couldn't use our awning. The toilets flooded with excrement. Staff had to ask their manager if it could be cleaned. There barriers were broke so your caravan etc could easily be stolen as they were in the open position and no site security whatsoever. The shop shut when it wanted. The arcade for the kids half the machines were faulty taking money and not paying out. I reported this and no body cared. The family entertainment room says it provides food 8 while 11. Get this then the room hasn't a kitchen but advertises food in their brochures. My son was verbally abused by a supposedly family entertainer. When we reported the chap nobody again cared. There's a one way system for traffic and was nearly mowed down by the staff speeding the wrong way around it. If your stranded in the boggy terrain don't expect them to help you. I reported a stranded caravanner who needed help. I swear to god the gave me a tow rope and said serves the. Right shouldn't of drove there. I towed him out. If you like chickens you'll have a good Sunday dinner as that's were they nearly ended. They start chirping at 3am. Chick chick chickens GOD there everywhere. Even the waste removal carrier a big 32000kg lorry was speeding on site driving through the site were kids were playing. If you can handle people smoking wacky backy then this is the place for you. I've tried to explain the best of my stay but try the place yourself we've all our own opinion. Oh yes I went with two children one which was 6 year old. I thank them in the tent that turned up next to us were there older child they had punched my child in the face. This is not a nice place and not a family place. And don't forget your torch there's no lighting on the touring area whatsoever. And watch whose around your equipment

On arriving it was hard to see the pitch numbers which is a concrete slab in the grass with numbers on, though not all pitches had them and some were very hard to see. Especially in a car.
Good value at only £21 for 3 nights with lots to do for the kids. The swimming pool was great, but had to pay extra to use it (not stated on website), though changing rooms were very small and there are no cubicles. There was a lifeguard, but he wasn't poolside for the first 25mins and we had a hour slot!
The park had lots of swings missing/damaged which is a shame as it was brilliant last year when we came. Our kids got bullied by what seemed like kids who lived on site. The kids entertainers didn't seem interested in the kids during the day and were seen watching tv with all the kids sat behind them.
The toilets/showers were dirty and never got cleaned during the 3 days we were there. There was no soap and toilet roll didn't get filled up when empty. The hand dryer was useless and blew out cold air. We went in one time and it looked like there were faeces in one of the sinks.
There were lots of fires, loud music and shouting going on until all hours which made sleeping difficult especially for young children.
We never saw any site security at any point during our stay. Last year he drove round multiple times a night to make sure everything was in order and kept things quiet. This is definitely needed at this site.

When you first arrive staff in reception pleasant do not be fooled! The site is dirty and very run down a lot of the pitches are very unkempt. The toilets were dirty as were the showers the hand towel holder was ripped off the wall and condoms over floor, security is nil although they give you a list of what you can't do know one seems to give a fig if they are followed or not. The site was like a rough field with gravel roads put in supposed to be a one way system and speed limit it was a joke the man driving the tractor was the worst culprit.
If I could have found somewhere else to stay the day we arrived I would have left then, no wonder you have to pay full fees before you arrive. Have found out about an offer that if you pay for a monday you get tuesday and wednesday free that in the middle of august says it all.
THE STANDARDS ON THIS SITE WERE WELL BELOW STANDARD, ELECTRIC BOX OPEN NO DOORS ON IT AND NOT REPAIRED EVEN WHEN NOTIFIED SAID SOMEONE WOULD COME NEXT DAY 4DAYS LATER AND STILL SAME I'm SURE THAT IS A HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE.
I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS SITE TO ANYONE BEEN CAMPING AND CARAVANING FOR 15YRS NEVER HAVE I SEEN ONE AS BAD AS THIS.
BE WARNED I NOW KNOW WHY FELLOW CARAVANNERS JUST LOOKED WHEN WE SAID WE HAD BOOKED THERE, IN FUTURE I WILL LOOK AT THE REVIEWS
