What a fantastic campsite! Not far off the M5, a few 'tight' places on the road into the village but nothing to get too worried about. On arrival, through the pub car park, the reception is housed in a wooden hut.
Nice warm welcome. We had pre-booked a hardstanding pitch in the adults only section (The Orchard) and were lucky enough to be given one in a small section near the entrance with just 7 pitches in. There is another bigger adults only section and then an even larger section near to the newly built facilities block - which is large and very clean.
The 'old' block (near our pitch) left a lot to be desired but was always clean (and empty!). There was a building site near the entrance and although there was some noise from it on Friday afternoon, once the builders had packed up and gone home it didn't bother us.
For us the pub right outside the site was a great selling point for the campsite. It was doggie friendly (indoors & outside), did really decent pub grub and best of all had an excellent range of local scrumpy ciders and perries and all at £2.35 a pint (cheapest we've found in years!).
You had to book a table Friday and Saturday nights if you wanted to eat indoors due to its popularity! A fish & chip van visited the site on Saturday night and seemed popular but we ate in the pub so can't comment on the quality.
Just a short walk from the site is the 'local shop' selling daily papers (get there early otherwise you have no chance!) and a range of essentials. There is also a cafe there (The Black Shed) but we didn't try it because the pub was so good. There are plenty of walks in both direction up the canal too. The WWT is also a short walk away but we didn't go because they obviously don't accept dogs!
We cannot wait to go back. This time we'll take our bikes and explore the canal towpath further.

We have just come back from a long weekend at this site were we met up with friends. They were in a tent but no problem pitching together. The site is really nice and tidy and the shower blocks nice and clean.
The area is lovely with great walks (on a level) along the canal. Great to watch the barges going by. The pub at the site entrance was handy too. Nice beer and tasty food. There are two good pubs along the canal worth the walk to,about 3 or 4 miles very pleasant walk.
The area itself is great for cycling, there seems to be lots of bikes about, you can hire them and boats at the boatyard across from the site.
Also near by there is a good camping shop which has everything you could possibly need. Handy to know.We will be visiting this site again.

Our second visit to the site and this time during the peak season. Site increasingly busy as Bank Holiday approached and as we left, some newly arrived tenters needed reminding of the rules on spaces between units as they had spread into other pitches. However, was delighted with toilet and shower block, clean, a little cobwebby here and there but with tall vaulted ceilings it is to be expected. Small morning queue but gave you chance to catch up with your neighbours! New CDP grey and black waste area now installed. Made to feel welcome just a shame about the lousy weather. Had booked hardstanding but was given grass - made pegs easier to get in. Managed to get us and our friends together which was handy for diving through the rain from one unit to the other! Pub great as before - now serving cream teas - a must. Will be back!

Stayed here a couple of years ago and liked it then, love it now with its new facilities.
They have a new shower block - excellent and spotless. Plenty of space between the pitches and lots of hardstanding.
The location is lovely - right beside the canal -lovely for walks or cycling. There's a Tesco a couple of miles away for anything you need.
We used this site to visit Bath and the Cotwolds.
A nice quiet site that even our teenagers loved.
Would recommend this site to anyone, good value for money too.

Been using this site since the late 90s due to its location to cycle path, bird reserve and GBG listed Camra pub. Disagree with comments regarding toilets/showers found them clean and spacious though this may not be the case at peak periods, didn't have to queue and there is still the old toilet block to use over the wooden bridge. Also notice an advertisement for a cleaner there so the site may have received some complaints. Never found the bird noise a problem, this is after all a country site with a bird reserve down the road. Eaten at the local pub many times and although mainly pub grub find it of a high quality especially when washed down with equally quality locally sourced s/w real ales.

Fantastic site, made very welcome on arrival, toilets and shower block brilliant. Comments from other people state showers dirty, there is a mop and bucket provided, if everyone used them the showers would be clean, as for spiders, you are camping, back to living with nature. Would def. Visit this site again. Only comment would be that there could be a small playpark provided for the kids as none available within easy walking distance. Great walks along the canal in both directions. Site is peaceful and pleasant and not bothered by owners constantly patrolling site.

Stayed at the Tudor caravan site for the weekend and had a great time even though the weather was bad at times. The site itself is lovely and the facilities are very good with plenty of toilets and showers. There is a pub and cafe just outside the site itself and a fish and chip van was there on the Saturday night, we all enjoyed a lovely fish supper, the fish was excellent. Enjoyed a day at the wildfowl wetland trust on the Sunday which is only 2mins away never seen so many ducks! Will definitely be back again.

Stayed here for 3 nights mid-week, was very enjoyable.
Not too busy but can imagine that at weekends it gets very busy, as does the neighbouring pub - you have to book at weekends! The food and service there is very good, they have an outside sheltered area and if they are not too busy will let you take dogs inside.
The pitches were all flat and well maintained - there were a few tents up and would definitely recommend tenting! It was quiet but relaxed, with children playing on the fields and a good atmosphere.
They don't accept card which is unusual and would have been helpful but the pub gives up to £50 cash back if you spend more than £5. The nearest cashpoint is a 5 min drive.
The new toilet and shower block is lovely but we were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness - during our three day stay the showers were only cleaned once - on our last day (Thursday). The toilets were cleaned every day as were the sinks but the showers were very much overlooked.
Had to queue for a shower but only once and not for more than a few minutes. Would recommend getting a shower before 8am or after 10am to miss the queues!
The building is also a bit 'spidery' not a problem for the brave but there were definitely some very big ones hovering by the entrance doors!
The bins were very full by our last day but we managed to squeeze some bags in - they also had recycling available which was good.
In terms of location, it is quiet (Except the birds!) and pretty but not much to do.
Good as a base to explore but after walking so far down the canal you just have to turn around and come back. If you are willing to drive 20 mins or so there are some great places to visit.
Little cafe next to the canal does a nice cream tea and allows dogs. They hire out boats for the day which sounded exciting but was £85 for 3 hours so we gave it a miss!

We stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend. We have a wheelchair and a dog. The camping fields are flat but not level as they have humps in them that look like they are from when the fields were ploughed. Some paths are gravel so a problem for a wheelchair. The disabled washroom needed a key which required a £10 deposit. It was clean and had good facilities. This campsite does not accept debit cards nor does the cafe on the canal path. We had not brought adequate cash. Good dog walk along the canal. The site was noisy at times. Excellent pub near by.

The site if beautifully kept. Large pitches.
The new shower block is lovely and ample for the size of the site.
Had a lovely walk along the canal to frampton-on-severn - few nice pubs there - the bell pub does nice food. Tudor pub is by the main entrance to the site - had a meal there one evening, not overly impressed by the food.
Overall a good visit - will be returning soon.
