We've just spent 2 nights at the Tudor Caravan Park and found it to be very well-kept, clean, tidy and beautifully laid out. Pitches are generous and well-marked.
The new shower block is excellent, with 5 spacious shower cubicles in the ladies section, 5 loos, 2 wash cubicles and a baby changing cubicle. It's warm and clean.
We ate at the Tudor Arms, food is fantastic (OH is still raving about the braised beef!) and reasonably priced with basket meals at just £4.25 and an extensive bar menu. The range of ales, ciders and perries is good - try the Broadoak Perry premium at 7.5% but treat with caution!
The Black Shed cafe and bar, over the road from the site and pub do a good fry-up from 9am, or sit beside the canal with a beer, just watching the boats go by.
A blissful break, we'll definitely be back.

We have just spent 2 nights at this superb site.
A new toilet and shower block has been opened in the last two weeks with the washing up area currently in the final stages of completion. Superb facilities. Male facilities has 5 toilet cubicles, five shower cubicles, sinks and two washing cubicles with shaver points. Lashings of hot water. No charge for the showers. Cost was £17 per night on dedicated pitch ( hard standing and electrical hook up) with allocated grassed area alongside.
The site backs on to the Gloucester to Sharpness Canal (not visible from site). The Tudor Arms public house provides good quality, good portions at a reasonable price. Lamb Curry and rice £6.95. Across the road is the Black Shed Cafe and shop alongside the canal and swing bridge. Straight walk of approx 0.25 mile to Slimbridge Wetlands Site. Good value.

We spent a very enjoyable 5 nights here in June. I know they can't control the weather, but it was glorious which showed we didn't have much shade to sit in when it got too much.
The showers were clean and conserved the water by using a push button, great idea in my mind, but not everyone's cup of tea.
The long awaited shower block was still in construction and it should be great when finished.
We took a visit to Slimbidge itself and the birds were awesome and I can't wait to go back to see the beavers and otters that should be there later this year.
Overall, I liked the site, plenty of room for the tent, a flat pitch and within walking distance of the wildlife centre and the canal which I highly recommend people to go for a stroll along.

Just returned from an enjoyable 4 night stay at this site. Generous pitch sizes plenty of room for our 8 person tent with porch extension and wind breaker - plus car ! Friendly site with lots of offers of help from other campers with putting up tent in windy conditions.
Our 2 year old really enjoyed visiting Cotswold Farm Park although may have been better to go to Cattle Country Adventure Park - both similar attractions farm animals, rare breeds, play barns, sandpits and jumping pillows etc but Cattle Country is a lot nearer to campsite.
Had lovely evening walks along canal towpath feeding ducks and swans.
Only negative would have to be regarding toilet block - as previous members have stated this is a poor facility, which is inadequate with only two showers per gender. Understand the need for push button showers, but this meant constantly holding the button whilst trying to wash with one hand! The new facility is welcomed, would recommend check finished before booking your stay.

Visited for a couple of nights with dreadful weather. Location is superb especially for cycling, flat, no busy roads and some great little villages along the canal route, wish we could have cycled longer, it was as close to perfect. Very handy off the M5 and couldn't hear it either. Pub at entrance is very busy and serves good but not great cuisine. Overall I would recommend simply for the location. Toilet blocks nearly sorted, just finishing the Gold taps! Would definitely revisit.

Have just returned from a 7 day stay and here is my report.
Good points.
Access to the campsite was well sign posted. Owners were very polite and helpful when we booked in. Pitches are a good size. (We had grass with electrics) Plenty of water points. Local amenities were available but we didn’t use them. Local attractions close by (WWT 15 min walk and worth the money, we spent over 4hrs in there).
Unfortunately there were some bad points.
Toilet and shower facilities are not up to standard. The showers were old toilet cubicles converted to showers all 2 of them. (Both sides). So expect to queue for a shower and the general cleanliness was not good at all. (Maybe because one person did the whole block) When the new toilet block is finished I hope they don’t end up like the current ones. They will if they are not cleaned properly. The washing up area was ok, but for the amount of people that use it I would expect more than 4 sinks. And they were not cleaned every day.
When new toilet block is finished we will return again.

We stayed at the site for 2 nights in the school summer holiday.
This site mainly attracts caravanners (hence the name!) and when we visited, the only tent pitches available were non-EHU on the family field, which suited us fine. It was nice to see a variety of camping types and everyone seemed friendly enough. Each evening, the kids gathered on the field to play, which was nice to see.
The site is in a lovely rural spot next to the canal - You have to go out of the campsite to see it though. The canal is a great place for a walk, cycle ride or just to watch the boats go by.
We couldn't hear any traffic noise at night, but were woken early each morning by the crows!
As mentioned before, the current washroom facilities are a bit tired and dated, but the big new toilet / shower block (next to the non-EHU area) seems to be almost finished.
A cafe and pub are near by - we only tried the cafe (which is licensed) and had very reasonable prices.
Due to torrential rain, we didn't visit the wildfowl trust but visited Gloucester docks/quay, and the National Waterways museum instead. We found a very reasonable Chinese buffet restaurant next to the Cineworld cinema, nearby.

We have just returned from a lovely four night break at Tudor Park, helped by the fantastic half term weather!
The Good Points:
The site is pleasantly situated, and the pitches are level, if a little uneven in places. We had no problems with space, even though we have a very large tent. The large grassy central area of the field is left for the children to play, and ours certainly made good use of it, and made some lovely friends. A new amenities block is under construction, which will add a touch of luxury. Water points are well spread out, and recycling is encouraged. People are asked to keep noise to a minimum after 10pm, and everyone stuck to this. The adults only orchard area is pretty with nice trees and good shade.
The Tudor Arms outside the gates does good food, but don't expect anything earth shattering. As mentioned before the Black Shed across the road does a good snack menu and big breakfasts! Be sure to look out for the bears while you're there.
The Not So Good Points:
The existing toilet block is small and grubby - only two showers each side and the push button type that only lasts a few seconds at a time. Only four washing up sinks for the whole site. I know that the new block is well under way, but it does seem to be taking it's time. We were there for four days and I can honestly say that the builders were in attendance for about half a day of that time. If you are booking hoping that the new block will be ready very soon - don't count on it!
We also found that in the quiet of the night, the road noise from the M5 was very apparent, so much so that I went off to Boots in Dursley and bought myself some earplugs.
To sum up; a nice friendly site in a rural location which is doing it's best to upgrade it's current poor facilities. We enjoyed our short stay, but won't return until the new block is finished.

This site is situated in a quiet location down a small no-through lane, right by the canal. This did worry us at first as we all have young children but, after reassurance from the friendly, helpful and efficient owners, we needn't have worried. There is no direct access up to the canal and, in fact, you wouldn't really know it's there. There is a fence and very thick brambles dividing the campsite from it and the actual canal is in an elevated position about 7ft up a bank. So, those with children please don't worry or let this put you off.
There was a nice relaxed atmosphere on site and pitches were a good size, being situated round the outside of the field enabling children to play in the middle. Kids can ride their bikes round the main site but not in the smaller Orchard site.
Amenities block was small but functional. Only two showers in the ladies but never had to wait long for one to become available. They were clean and tidy from the beginning of the day but did get a bit smelly at the end. Washing up facilities were plentiful; never had to wait for a free sink. Having said this, there is a brand new amenities block being built as I speak which looks very swish so this will definitely make the site even better.
Lots to do in the area - Wild Wetlands Centre is well worth a visit and very reasonably priced too as was Berkeley Castle.
Although we didn't get round to going to the Tudor Arms pub, situated right at the entrance to the site, it looks really nice and has an extensive menu. There is nice outside space too and, on checking with the landlord, allows dogs in one of the bars. It also does B&B for those friends / family who may want to join you but don't want to camp. Very convenient.
Tesco is about a 5 min drive away but there is a small site shop selling the basics.
Would highly recommend this site. In fact we are going to book again for the same weekend next year.
