Nous retournerons avec plaisir à Tudor Caravan Park ---------------------- Stay 5 nights in a tent with power. Terrain very well maintained, very clean toilet blocks. Few campers at this time therefore extremely calm. Regular visiting wholesale rodents night in the tent (though storing food). Freezer and microwave available. Very pleasant walks bicycles along the canal (16 miles one way). A nearby very large store of camping, useful when one has not taken adequate power.
We will return with pleasure at Tudor Caravan Park

This was our second visit here and it will be our last. I agree with the last reviewer about ball games, they have enough space here to dedicate a separate area for games away from the tents. On arrival the friendly warden gave us a map and a choice of pitches in the centre suggesting that the far end would be quieter as the families were camped at the near end. Not so, although we found ourselves a space well away from anyone else, it wasn't long before first the football game started and then two young men decided to practise kicking their rugby ball right in front of us!
The cleanliness of the shower block leaves a lot to be desired it didn't seem to matter what time of day or night we used them, the toilets always smelt, for the size of the site I think the facilities are poor.
The first time we stayed last summer we enjoyed a pleasant meal with our two well behaved dogs in the pub next to the site, however this year when we went in for a meal we were told that dogs were no longer allowed and we could sit outside, not an option as it was wet, windy and cold or in the public bar, which consisted of a pool table, a loud TV and some equally loud youths, not a nice atmosphere. In the end we had to drive several miles along the Gloucester road before we found a pub that would accept our dogs. At least we were able to have a nice meal in comfort, our dogs were no trouble and the landlord was £40 better off.
I think it is a real shame that the owners of this site do not take notice of what people have to say and make an effort to improve things, as it is in a perfect spot, right next to the canal and the wildfowl centre, with lots of interesting things to see and do, walking, cycling, boating and Gloucester and the river severn is just a few miles away.
I would only use this site again if they, improved the shower block, designated an area just for games and had an adults only section that included tents.

Slimbridge is perfectly positioned along the M5 for a nightstop or for visiting Slimbridge wildfowl centre.
The site is well kept and the facilities are clean, the big let down is the size of the facilities block which as already stated, could be overrun on a busy week-end or in high season !. One of the staff did inform me that they had planning permision for a new facilities block, haven't I read that before somewhere on this thread !.
The site could do with a 'no ball games' ruling, there is a rally field next door which could be used for ball games.
The 'shed' across the road is a must for breakfast, followed by a stroll along the canal.Or cycle if you wish altogether a great location.

Just returned from this site. We had two nights stay, very quiet site, no noise after 10 o.clock. Showers facilities looked alright but didn't actually use them. Toilets fairly clean, a few odd cobwebs but acceptable. We visited the wetlands centre which was lovely and plan to return with grandchildren. The walks along the canal were nice and the cafe was a small friendly place to stop chat and eat. There was a pub right at the entrance to the site which did good food, more of an adults and toddler site.
Would return for a one night stop off or possibly a weekend. Compared to caravan club site, a fortnight previous, for same length of time hard standing, E.H.U, but less facilities. It was 20 pence cheaper. So quite expensive in comparison and the pitches were not as big.
Overall pleasant friendly site. But a little expensive.

This was our first trip away in our new motorhome. The site was very peaceful and the warden helpful. Lovely spot close to the canal and the pub served delicious meals. We did feel the toilet block needed a refurb but I think this has been mentioned numerous times on this site so we weren't overly surprised to find them basic. We will definitely be back anyway when the weather improves!

Our second visit to Tudor Caravan Park. We had a lovely 1 night stay. Very helpful Warden. Level hardstanding spacious pitches, clean toilets/showers. Excellent meal at the Pub at the entrance. Not sure if there is a playarea but we didnt see one. Quite a few people on the park but very peaceful.

Just returned from a 6 night stay at this lovely canal side site. We stayed in the old orchard, adults only section which was so peaceful and quiet. Lovely pub at the entrance and boatyard on the side of the canal which serves meals and acts as a shop with basic supplies. The only thing I think that could be of benefit would be more toilets. I am sure it must be frustrating in busy periods when campers have a good walk to the only block on site and also a laundrette. I also think it was a little on the expensive side considering so few facilities but overall very nice.

Have visited this site once more and since last year it has lots of gravel hard standings for caravans around the perimeter with a few grass pitches left. The site is peaceful still and clean and tidy but everyone on site complains about the lack of showers - 2 in the ladies! There's no laundrette or shop although there's one across the road that serves the canal customers. It's a cafe too but always smells of old chip fat! The hotel/restaurant/pub on the corner has a Camra award and the food menu contains plenty of unusual dishes and we enjoyed a lovely meal there as usual. We also hired a canal boat for the afternoon on the canal that runs alongside the site and this was excellent.

We have been to this site regularly over the years, mostly for one night stays on our way to or from our main holiday. This year we stayed for four nights as we always enjoy our stay and wanted to see a bit more of the surrounding area. We chose to hire a barge on the canal next to the site for 3 1/2 hours for £77.00 (well worth it, especially if you share the cost with friends/family). As usual we went to the Pub/Restaurant at the site entrance for a meal. The food has always been delicious and the choice is very good. We also travelled to Longleat (approx 1 hr 20 mins) - another great day out. The only moan we have about Tudor Caravan Park are the shower facilities. They do really need updating! Although they are free there are only 2 showers in the toilet block. This does really let the site down. There are at least 7 toilets in the ladies block and I would think it would be better to get rid of at least two of the toilets and make them into 2 more showers instead. The nearest big shop is Tesco on the Cam/Durlsey turn off (straight across the roundabout at the end of the lane from the campsite). Papers, milk and bits and bobs can be bought from the canal side cafe at the site entrance.

The photos of this site don't do it justice. The site is well laid out, nicely spaced between pitches. As mentioned by others the toilet block could do with updating but it was kept clean and tidy. Have to say I wasn't keen on the chemical toilet point being in the open air - prefer a bit of privacy to empty it. It is located at the back of the toilet block though so its ok. Canal is beautiful, its literally just outside the site and we hired bikes for £5.00 each for 2 hours and went down the towpath to Frampton a really pretty village close by. Would definitely go back really handy off the M5 if you need somewhere to stop off but really the area is worth of a few days of cycling, walking or whatever. Lovely peaceful and clean.
