Spent day in Slimbridge WWT so this was the perfect spot.
Good layout, friendly staff, pleasant pub at entrance to site and showers/toilets clean and tidy with warm water (albeit press button showers).
Canal next to site provided a nice walk for the dog.

Fantastic site where we have stayed several times before. Great location with easy access off the motorway.
Walking distance to Slimbridge Wetlands Trust. Next to canal where you can cycle to Gloucester.
Pub next door with excellent food and real ales and ciders. Well maintained site with large pitches, clean showers/toilets and motorhome service point.
Friendly service with online booking and value for money.
Will definitely stay again.

Easy to find, well signed from the roads approaching. Good canalside walks.
The Tudor Arms pub was fine for dinner on the Wednesday night and the black shed across road was ok for a quick drink, although we sat outside on a pub like bench adn nearly fell backwards as it wasn't fixed to ground and rickety(could of been a bad accident if we didn't have quick reflexes)
If we'd been staying any longer than 2 nights we would of asked to move, pitch 19 in the adult Orchard area is far too close to reception, it was so noisy with constant traffic pulling up behind the bushes that separate the pitch from the road/reception
But the main problem was the very loud noise from the sites grass mowers that were constantly back and forth to the reception area where the sheds were, even the guys driving them had ear defenders on!,
When I complained to reception I was told that it would only be from 11am when pitches were vacated but this was not the case. Having walked around the site we would of requested pitch 62 or nearby.
The shower block was ok but the showers had curtains and were cramped and push buttons, dated but useable.
Would return but not bother with adults section.
A map of the site is given at reception, this could do with being put on the website.
Wifi is not free and tv reception just ok
For us it was one of the noisiest sites we've ever been on, even though it's advertised a quiet site!

Booked for 4 nights but left after three, informed when we got there no dog walking on site have to be taken off site not a problem for the young dog but I have a 12 year old one too and she hates going for a walk so had to carry her off site good job she is a small dog, why was I paying for 2 dogs when they don't provide anything for them.
Went to the pub for a drink was dog friendly but you had to sit in a back room. Went for a meal 1 night my partner had 1/2 chicken which was dry and very overcooked so didn't eat there again,
The black shed is said to be cafe, arts and crafts, bar and general store couldn't find the general store bit nowhere to buy so much as a newspaper in a morning only Tesco 3. 5 miles away,
The site is down a very narrow road and looks a lot bigger on the web page than it is
The pitches are ok, the awning goes on gravel so need something underfoot if you don't want to walk on gravel all the time
Won't be going back.

Stayed at this site after recommendation of another person. Stayed for four nights. Choose the site because we were visiting Slimbridge wildfowl centre.
Site was very handy as we could walk directly to Slimbridge centre. Staff at reception very helpful Also-plenty of info on local attractions.
Amenities block very clean and tidy and showers nice and hot. All in all a very nice campsite. Site located right next to canal with easy access to walks.
The site is right next to a pub. Had food there one night and was very nice. Service also good.

This campsite has potential to be lovely. However if like ourselves you expect clean toilets an showers, don't book here.
Both blocks were only cleaned once a day, and they were dirty. Lack of toilet paper and hand soap, dirty cubicles, and even after being cleaned they needed doing again.
The overall site was well kept, grass was great for campers. Pitches were a fair size, and easily accessible.
Please also be aware that in the arrival information dogs are to be walked off the caravan park yet they advertised as being dog friendly.
Great food in the tudor arms.

Ideal place to stay if visiting Slimbridge Wetland Centre. Beautifully kept pitches and hard standings. Great grass tent pitches with EHU which are extremely spacious.
Really well designed and kept facilities block with excellent Showering, WC, Washing, Washing Up & Laundry facilities. The main camping field is well kept and has water points. It is however a long walk to the facilities.
During the high season a couple of "Festival Type WCs" in the field would make it far more attractive to families etc. The Tudor Arms Pub at the entrance is excellent, with a good range of beers, ciders and food. All in all highly recommended.

It's a few years since we stayed here and the overall impression is: it is much improved.
The pitches on the Meadow are pristine and mostly huge and the open aspect gives impressive views. The recycling area is much tidier too and my only disappointment was the rather lukewarm water in the showers.
We had a tremendous meal in the Tudor pub, although they're certainly cramming the punters in these days - not much room between the tables.
The Black Shed is advertising itself as a general store, among other things, but we couldn't find any evidence of this, though the campsite owners told us there is a small fridge area with supplies.
Spent a lovely day at the Wetlands Centre with our visiting family. A good day out but a bit pricy at over a hundred quid for entrance and lunch!

Easy to find site, just follow brown signs for the wetland centre, just be aware the road from the A38 is narrow in places, the left turn into the site is via the Pub carpark.
No play area on site so the meadow area was being used for ball games, perhaps some of the green areas in the rally field could be used for this purpose, to keep the balls away from the vans.
No dog walk on site, so asked to exercise the dogs off site which shouldn't be a problem as the canal towpath is adjacent to the site, its quite a linear site so if you are furthest away from the entrance chances are the dogs will go before exiting the site, just pick up after your dog, again a small area would be useful for early morning, late night ablutions.
The Black Shed is opposite site entrance for cafe facilities, likewise the pub for food but we didn't use either.
The modern toilet block was the usual one size fits all with fixed shower head and push button with fixed temperature, not hot enough for me personally.
Staff were helpful both during booking and on site.
