We stayed here for Feb half term week to help a friend with some DIY, so we didn't explore the delights of the local area, though these are many.
You get a friendly welcome and shown to your pitch. For tents, this is the side of the site closer to the M42; the rest is mostly hard standings which were very well used by motor homes and caravans. The grass pitches are well drained and were in amazingly good condition for the time of year.
We were asked to help with this by keeping our car near the track to stop it churning up the mud. The ground is alluvial and holds plastic pegs like a vice. There are one or two small stones so take care if you use aluminium pegs.
EHU points (16A) and bollards abound, as do water, waste water points and bins. It's very clean and well ordered. The facilities are excellent - warm, clean, efficient, well ventilated and a pleasure to use. The showers are pleasantly hot, though push button (about 30 seconds per push) and with no temperature adjustment.
There's plenty of room in the cubicles to change, and each has three double hooks. A mop and squeegee encourage people to clean up after themselves. The indoor washing up area is also excellent, although the large, deep sinks are set rather low for my ancient back. We didn't use the laundry. The facilities close for cleaning at 10:30 for up to 90 mins, but the disabled loo and shower is available whilst this is going on.
There are plenty of ducks, crows and rabbits and of course the constant noise of the M42 for company. Fellow users of the site were pleasantly sociable, though possibly a bit bemused by the mad February tenters. This site was exactly what we needed for the week, but would feel a bit suburban for a 'proper' holiday unless you're out and about all day every day.

Lovely site. 10 mins off m42 but could be miles away. On a flat grass pitch with ehu.
Grass is very green and in good condition even at the end of the year. No mud. Warm clean shower blocks.
Small shop in reception. Asda 10 mins drive. Sitting here listening to bird song. Lovely site with friendly helpful hosts. Would visit again.

Spent ten days at site recently with my wife and our small puppy. Taking a break from the caravan and enjoying the tent!
On arrival, we were late due to heavy traffic on M1. Phoned in advance and let the warden know. They were kind enough to wait around for us, even though it was dark, raining and heavy wind! Real camping weather.
Toilet and Shower block were in clean condition and maintained that standard throughout our stay.
Pitch and green areas were in good condition, despite the weather which went from one extreme to the other during our stay.
Plenty of walks locally, including the canal and around the water park itself. Dog friendly with sufficient waste disposal bins.
There are a variety of shops in the surrounding area. We made use of the brilliant little store in Kingsbury Village for daily groceries, recommended.
The Dog & Doublet is a nice pub within easy walking distance. Excellent kept Real Ales, but after having three meals there, would not really recommend them. Poorly cooked pub grub at its best ( I am a retired Chef and would not criticise unless my points are valid)
Back to the site - we had stayed on one previous occasion about six years ago in our caravan. The site has come on leaps and bounds since then.
In all would certainly recommend the site and we will return.
Staff were friendly and efficient, the wardens in particular were first class but sadly coming to the end of their stint at the site.
Anybody who would like me to enlarge on my comments, by all means get in touch if I can help.

My first experience at a Camping and Caravan site, initial impression was very professional and helped a friend out who'd messed her dates up and was a day early.
Nice play area for the children. A bit disappointed the some older children were trashing the wash room and nowt was said, also some parties had excess cars which was against club rules and nothing was said, finally a large group in tents were very noisy into the night which again was missed by the wardens.
On a plus note, it was a lovely site and will definitely go back.

The price for 2 adults and a dog for one night is reasonable for a fully functional campsite with relatively clean facilities and excellent pitches. As experienced travellers, we tend to be picky, so we hope these comments are taken in good faith.
The site has a 'shop' or rather offers basic needs such as milk, bread, eggs etc. So the question is: what is the point of having these facilities if the opening hours are between 9 and 10. 30 a. M. Then again 4 to 5 p. M. ? Most families would require these items for breakfast - very few families have breakfast after 9 a. M. (as far as I am aware). Wouldn't it make sense to be open between 8 a. M. And 10. 30 a. M. ?
The toilets are clean. What lets these facilities down is that nobody bothers to clean the ceiling or windows which are full of spiders and insects. The grouting in the showers (tiles and between the wall and drain) are black in some places, so could do with a more substantial clean. Perhaps these may be considered small details - but that's what matters when deciding which campsite offers the best.
Customer care - again small details, but we got the impression that the wardens were just doing their job and were somewhat condescending. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, maybe we've been spoilt by sites where the staff/owners want to go that one step further.
Finally - the motorway nearby is very noisy during the night, so for light sleepers - not good.

Booked this site for 10 days to include the BH.
Easy to get to from the M6/M42 but still rural and peaceful.
Beautifully maintained, large pitches, friendly staff. Great shower block and the adjacent water park and canal with pub are an easy stroll.
BUT. Our pitches had a couple of tent pitches behind which was an odd arrangement as one of the hard standing units on the end had to keep their pitch clear for access, which was unfair and these pitches were not fit for purpose.
Also we were pitched so people cut through the pitches to the shower block instead of walking an extra 10 feet which was a little annoying but not quite as much as the kids on bikes who did the same thing and one dented/scratched the back of our van badly as witnessed by one of our neighbours. They were everywhere, riding around the shower block, around reception and one darted out in front of me as I drove through the open barrier, nearly hitting him. I have never had the van damaged before so it left a bitter taste.
I have kids but a lot of the kids on site were running amok, hide and seek around vans at 9pm, until they were told off by several people. I never saw the wardens patrolling at night once during my stay.

Visited with grandkids. Great location, very good facilities, level pitches. But let down by lack of security at night, were kept awake till one o/clock in morning by two couples drinking and playing loud music.
Would probably think twice about visiting again, unless some sort of supervision is put in after midnight.

An impeccable, spotless site, with very helpful staff who allowed us to stay till 6pm in return for a small donation to their flower fund.
You can hear a background M42 drone or swish if the wind is from that way, but it comes and goes and never bothered us day or night. Very spacious and immaculate site. Enjoyed our visit.

This was our first trip out with our trailer tent and the site was excellent. Plenty of choice of flat large grass pitches site was busy but felt spacious and was very well maintained (we stayed Friday and Saturday night)
Nice clean washroom facilities which were never busy. Biggest advantage is that you are pretty much in the water park which has lovely walks, water sports facilities and playgrounds - our kids loved it. Site is about 1 mile pleasant walk to main waterpark visitors centre.
No real negatives, perhaps a little pricey but I think probably worth it. There is road noise as you are right next to the M42 but certainly didn't impact our enjoyment. Definitely recommend.

Spent 3 nights here at the end of Spring bank holiday week. The site was full for first 2 nights.
Facilities were clean and never had to queue. Although site was busy the quiet area was just that. There is a lovely play area for kids and the nearby water park provides further entertainment for kids and adults alike.
The site was clean and tidy and on the Monday the wardens were very busy mowing and tidying after the busy week.
There is some road noise in the distance due to motorway not being far away, this was not a problem.
We have been to this site before and I am sure will be visiting again.
