Owner was friendly, toilets and showers were very clean,

Great location for scenic walks.

Small shop in village for essentials but limited stock, if long hikes aren't your thing, a ten minute walk will have you alongside the river wye where there is ample space to picnic and listening to babbling water over the rocks

Maureen and Peter were very accommodating and a lovely couple,

Beautiful area with a little village down the road and a lovely area for a long walk.

Already planning to come back!

Very nice welcome received from the owner on arrival with all the facilities pointed out. The gate posts are very narrow so extra care is required for larger motorhomes.

The pitch was not level so chocks are required which is a bit disappointing when its purpose is to accommodate a motorhome.

The surface is a black gritty substance that treads in to the van very easily and the path to the toilets is a combination of this and grass.

The toilet block is unheated and at this time of year it leads to very unpleasant atmosphere.

The shower itself is an electric one that is charged extra for (£1 = 5 mins) and delivers a miserable amount of water.

The general waste bin was also sealed shut and unavailable for us to drop our rubbish

Really great campsite, Maureen was accommodating, helpful and a great host.

Great value for money and had electric hook up. Bathrooms were extremely clean and well kept and the shower was warm and spacious.

Place to wash pots available outside and bins for recycling and rubbish. Lovely location so quiet and perfect dark skies.

Cycled the Monsal trail and bus into Bakewell 3 mins walk.

Amazing food at packhorse inn and Hobbs cafe.

We will be back

This little site is in a lovely setting, the owner was pleasant on arrival.

There are only 2 x hardstanding gravely pitches that have ehu and water, the rest is grass ( not sure how many pitches) the grass was water logged when we visited. Had been a lot of rain before and during our visit.

There are only 2 showers, & wc ( one for men one for women) its £1 for 5min shower. Bit pricey, the showers were clean, but minimal, could have done with a chair or bench to sit on when getting dry, no sockets to dry hair etc no paper towels near basins.

Only toilet roll supplied. Also would be nice to have a path to the toilet block, so you don't have to squelch through water logged grass to get to the toilets/ shower etc

It's a five min walk along the road to the Monsal head trail and lovely hotel that serves nice food and a short drive to Bakewell.

Just check before you book the width of your motorhome etc we only just got through the stone gate entrance with mm to spare in our Peugeot boxer coach built moho.

Also no grey water disposal, owner told use just to let water go.

Peaceful and clean site which although basic is perfect for a quiet overnight in a lovely area of the Peak District.

Welcoming owners who went out of their way to accommodate our needs.

Would stay again.

Nice site with lovely clean facilities.

We were at the back of the site where the hard standings and electric hook ups are so it was very peaceful.

Lovely couple who gave a nice welcome.

The site was quiet due to the weather so we had no problems.

Be aware there is only 2 showers in for each sex and 3 toilets for the whole site.

Also EHU is a tad expensive at £10pn.

Price is too high for a very BASIC site.

Didn't really need EHU but the only hardstanding (needed in a wet Oct) included EHU so had to pay for it. £30 out of season for a site that doesn't provide hot water to wash your pots in an outside sink with no drain pipe, clear signs stating no pot washing or taking hot water from the bathroom.

Also a sign specifying that the bathroom (one male, one female) would be closed overnight - there was toilet by the house you could use overnight.

£1 for shower for 5mins on top of the inflated £30 a night for a basic site.

I am happy to stay at basic sites, however when you are paying £30 out of season I wasn't expecting to bring all my dirty dishes home.

The bathroom facilities were clean and worked ok and the area is beautiful. Excellent pub (Pack Horse) less than 10mins walk away

Small friendly campsite in a great location.

Basic facilities, but all you need, and very clean.

Run by a lovey couple, very friendly, chatty and helpful.

Great value. Recommended.
