Beautiful location, great for Little Longstone, The Packhorse Inn and walks on the Monsail trail. Very basic campsite.
In March there was one toilet between 6 campervans, no showers and knowhere to get rid of grey waste.
Pitches also very sloped and hardstanding
Is more like grit. £30 a night is double what you would expect for a site with such limited facilities out of season.
Nice owners though.

Ideally placed for Monsal Trail and delights of Little Longstone.
We did however think it was expensive as there was only a single WC, the showers were closed, there were no pot washing facilities and the water tap at the chemical waste unit was switched off.
The price needs ok reflect this off-season.

Very quiet, beautiful location, the showers weren’t open, but were told this prior to booking. There was a toilet available.
Only a short walk to the Monsal Head Viaduct. 2 pubs within short walking distance.
Maybe a bit on the pricey side considering no facilities, but we enjoyed it, and had the place to ourselves

Lovely site and outlook.
Easy access to the Monsal trail and bus in to Bakewell.
Great pubs nearby. Warm welcome.
Highly recommend.
Facilities fine for us as we can fully wild camp but worth noting on loo open

Great location for exploring the surrounding countryside, access to Monsal trail is a 5 minute walk.
Local pub the Pack Horse, 10 minute walk was fantastic but make sure you book as it’s always busy.
Lovely roaring fires great food and beer. Campsite has basic but well maintained and spotlessly clean facilities.
Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Everything you could want.
We’ll definitely be back during the winter months when we get a nice clear cold weekend.
Oh and if you’re visiting Chatsworth House it’s a 15 minute drive from the site.

Superb location, incredible views all let down by the facilities.
We paid £31 for one night (£30 for two adults and £1 for a dog with EHU. Fine with that price.
The showers had zero heating (think December, minus 6 degrees so you got frost bite before you got in the shower and again after you got out but what was worse was the £1 per 5 minutes for hot water.
I know there are costs involved but hot water shower charges on top of £31 camp site fees was a bit much for me.

Really enjoyed our stay - the site is right next to the Monsal trail and we walked into Bakewell which took about 1. 5 hours on a very flat footpath so a lovely walk. We got a taxi back for £9.
We had a lovely friendly welcome when we arrived. The site is close to a few pubs and whilst we didn’t visit them, we would if we stayed again.
Facilities were very clean but as others have said, with only one toilet each this could be an issue at busier times (there were only 2 other vehicles staying at the same time as us).
Also there is a sign saying that the toilets are locked at night - I’m not sure why this is although there is another toilet at the back of the owners property.

Great location for Peaks and Monsal Trail.
Very helpful owner who left power available for us even though we were a late arrival.
Site pristine and lovely facilities.
We will go again.

Back home after another weekend at what for me is one of my favourite Campsites.
Fantastic location, beautiful views, a short walk from the 'Packhorse Inn' (great pub with a superb food) and the trail, one of a host of divergent walks.
The owners are always extremely helpful and keep the site spotless. The toilets/shower are possibly the best kept on this website.
I'm sure that if these smaller sites were eligible for national awards Park House would be a consistent winner.
I am already looking forward to my next visit.
So a big thank you to my hosts.
