Catching up with an old university friend, we wanted a campsite in the Peaks with a good location for walking, but easy to reach. This fitted the bill perfectly.
A quick email and call confirmed the booking, without much bother.
With a couple of pubs on the doorstep and walks of varying grade almost from the tent we couldn't ask for more.
Easily found the campsite, quickly checked in and with all the facilities required (nice, hot shower) we were very happy.
Would certainly come back again.

Tight entrance so probably not easy for wider Motorhomes like Bailey. Great welcome from the owners.
Extremely clean toilets and showers (£1 for 5 mins).
Really good views and great location to visit Chatsworth House.
Lovely walks all around the campsite.
It was exceptionally quiet. Highly recommended

What a lovely camp site, so quiet and peaceful with stunning views.
The owners were really nice.
Facilities are great and the pitches were fabulous.
It was 30 quid a night with electricity and thay was a bank holiday weekend.
Just one downside, I thought the price of the showers were a bit steep, 1 pound for 5 mins, I've stayed on other camp sites that charge for showers and it's normally 20 pence for between 3 and 5 minutes, so a pound gets you a good 15 minutes which is more reasonable.
There are no shops close by.
5 minutes walk to the monsal trail, just on the corner, with a cafe and pub and ice cream.
10 minutes and a 20 minute walk there is 3 lovely pubs that do great food.
Overall I would recommend and stay again.

Well placed site, 3 miles from Bakewell and the lovely Monsal trail.
The site grass and a few hard standing pitches.
Two toilets with a shower, male and female.
Older couple owners, initially said I had not booked and were confused over the number of bookings they, and charged me more than advertised.
The area and where it is situated is what you are paying for. Some good pubs nearby.

Absolutely perfect campsite if you enjoy the quiet life which is what we were after.
We have stayed here once before and enjoyed both times.
The campsite is very tidy and well kept toilet and shower facilities are spotless.
Would highly recommend staying here and we will be returning again.

Really well run site with lovely ownership and management team. Great reception upon arrival and very clean and well maintained.
We went on bike rides during the day where it is perfectly set in between Hartington and Manifold track.
All on site amenities you need with an on site small shop.
Quiet setting with no directly local shops or pubs but Hartington is about 1. 5 miles away and a pub further within Hulme End about a15 minute walk.
Strict no noise at all after 22:00 site rules so ideally for younger families or early morning hikers.

A lovely quiet campsite, not too big, a bit of road noise during the day but quiet at night.
1 shower and toilet for ladies and same for men, the showers were £1 for 5 mins.
There was also another separate toilet wash basin + shaving point, no sockets for hairdryer etc.
Recycling bins on site
Washing up is outside, but not undercover, cold water only.
The owner told us just to pick a pitch, we camped under the trees, (on a slight slope down) as there were D of E coming later on, you do not get any sun on this side though.
The Monsal trail takes you into Bakewell, a good walk.
Buxton only 6 miles drive, a lovely market town.
A couple of minutes walk to Monsal Head Hotel which does food+ the stables bar doing homemade pizzas, which were lovely, open till around 8ish
The village of great Longstone is a short walk, with a pub called the Pack Horse, we only had a drink, but the food coming out looked good
Really enjoyed our camp here, we would go back again👍

Lovely family run site within easy walking distance of local pubs and with Monsal Head right on the doorstep!
Generally an adult only site although they do have DoE Award groups who are always well supervised and very well behaved (didn’t even notice they were there!).
Owners are friendly and helpful.
Limited toilets/showers which might be an issue if site is full, but caused us no problems at all.
Looking forward to returning again soon!
