Really well run site with lovely ownership and management team. Great reception upon arrival and very clean and well maintained.

We went on bike rides during the day where it is perfectly set in between Hartington and Manifold track.

All on site amenities you need with an on site small shop.

Quiet setting with no directly local shops or pubs but Hartington is about 1. 5 miles away and a pub further within Hulme End about a15 minute walk.

Strict no noise at all after 22:00 site rules so ideally for younger families or early morning hikers.

A lovely quiet campsite, not too big, a bit of road noise during the day but quiet at night.

1 shower and toilet for ladies and same for men, the showers were £1 for 5 mins.

There was also another separate toilet wash basin + shaving point, no sockets for hairdryer etc.

Recycling bins on site

Washing up is outside, but not undercover, cold water only.

The owner told us just to pick a pitch, we camped under the trees, (on a slight slope down) as there were D of E coming later on, you do not get any sun on this side though.

The Monsal trail takes you into Bakewell, a good walk.

Buxton only 6 miles drive, a lovely market town.

A couple of minutes walk to Monsal Head Hotel which does food+ the stables bar doing homemade pizzas, which were lovely, open till around 8ish

The village of great Longstone is a short walk, with a pub called the Pack Horse, we only had a drink, but the food coming out looked good

Really enjoyed our camp here, we would go back again👍

Lovely family run site within easy walking distance of local pubs and with Monsal Head right on the doorstep!

Generally an adult only site although they do have DoE Award groups who are always well supervised and very well behaved (didn’t even notice they were there!).

Owners are friendly and helpful.

Limited toilets/showers which might be an issue if site is full, but caused us no problems at all.

Looking forward to returning again soon!

 Lovely location, quiet, clean facilities.

Maureen the host was very helpful.

There is a good bus service towards Bakewell and in the opposite direction castleton.

Some lovely pubs in walking distance too.

Shall visit again.

 A lovely campsite.

Slightly sloping grass pitches, either under the trees or out in the open, whichever you prefer.

Lots of water taps around the site.

Very clean toilet block with a shower that takes £1 coins.

Friendly owner.

The site is a very short walk to Monsal Head, with is amazing views and a hotel with food and a nice bar with real ale. Please note the walk to Monsal Head is via a road with no walkway so not recommended for children or less able people.

The jackdaws in the trees around the site start chattering at first light so take some earplugs if you don't want to get up early.

This was our first time camping and the owners were friendly from the very first moment we arrived, they were more than happy to offer advice on the walking trails in and around the area.

The facilities are great, always clean and there is plenty of room in the on site fridge/freezers to store your own items. The toilet and showers are heated and always clean.

Their are noisy restriction after 10:30pm so you're guaranteed a relaxing evening by the fire.

I would definitely recommend this camp site for those who want to kick back and just relax.

Really friendly small site in a beautiful location.

Just yards away from what must be one of the most amazing sunsets you'll find over the valley.

The owners checked us in and were friendly and helpful.

The facilities are everything you could want at a campsite and utterly spotless.

Appreciated the availability of recycling which sadly isn't always a given.

Wasn't sure what to expect as there were a few negative reviews dotted amongst the good ones, but from this experience totally unjustified and I wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend.

 Very pleasant owners, nice welcome.

Fantastic location for the Monsal Trail.

Spectacular views, good local pubs nearby. Also on a local bus route.

Great views. Very peaceful stay.

Some ecu pitches if required, we didn't, need this option.

We would return.

Good value. Great location. Nice campsite.

Small shower and toilet block but clean and big enough for the small site.

Only negative was the lack of dish washing facilities - just a large stone sink with no plug and a cold water tap.

 Lovely location and great hosts.

Bit expensive compared with other sites, having basic amenities and paying for a shower on top.

Great for walkers and cyclists prepared to face the lunatic drivers on the roads nearby.
