Friendly welcome from staff & knowledge about the area.
Nicely sited pitches & walking distance to town.
Shower/Toilet block due for refurbishment which will be another positive point for the site.
Will visit again.

Great pitches and a very clean, organised site.
Just needs the toilet/shower facilities updated which they are in the process of sorting.
On that basis, we would recommend a visit/stay soon or during the 2024 season.

A beautiful well situated campsite with an east walk into Wick. Warden was very friendly and helpful.
When they get the new amenities block it will be 10/10.
Everything was kept as spotless as you could hope for in such an old block ( we were there 30 yrs ago and it was old then !)
Will be back asap. So many beautiful beaches in the area and museums to visit on wet days

Bit busy when I arrived but the chap on check-in handled it well.
Great site map and map of wick.
No pitch markings that I could see but plenty of space.
Toilets nearer the camping area would be nice for those night visits, as would an additional dishwashing area nearer the tents.
Really nice quiet site, not too large and everyone seemed very friendly.
Toilets and showers had obviously had a bit of a face lift and were clean, tidy and well lit. They are intending to totally renovate when funds allow.
There is a washing line with pegs which would have been more useful if we had not had the torrential rain (with accompanying 50+mph gusts of wind).
Will definitely recommend and will hopefully be back next time I am in the area.
There is not a shop on site, but there is a co-op not far down the main road.
The site has low level lights at night - useful for the darker nights
The site is in an ideal position for walking into Wick and exploring the heritage trail and museum. Dont expect too much from wick town centre in way of shops/restaurants, but do explore.
The Trinkie and North Baths are two tidal pools, both walkable from the site. Do not swim in the Trinkie when windy and high tides - think safety. North Baths is a much safer pool, but probably better not to swim if waves breaking over the edge.
Altogether a well located friendly site.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, with lots of local knowledge.
The site is clean and tidy. I’m aware that the toilet block is being updated in the future, but the current block has hot showers, toilets and basins, that are perfectly adequate.
Dog walking by the river is easily accessible and it’s a short route to the local town. Lots of dog friendly restaurants /pubs too.
It’s great to know this is a community site and we wish them a long and happy future.

Very convenient site for our tour of Scotland and the NC 500 route.
Amenities block does need an update which is planned but was ok.
Helpful staff and pitch was easy to find on site.

We were only booked for 1 night, but decided to stay the night before our booked night, I call & spoke to a lovely man who said that's fine we will sort you out, never asked name
We arrived to be greeted by Andrea who sorted our pitch, which was perfect near the toilet & shower block, she told us we could stay there for our 2 nights
Off we went to set up, we had a problem with the electrical hook up, Andrea just appeared & helped us out
The toilets & showers were clean, they are being updated with a new block
We felt very at home

Stayed at wick river campsite for the first time when we did the nc500. Lovely member of staff on duty who changed our pitch due to the weather which was lovely.
Would have preferred to have had a laundry as we were soaked through but was advised that some upgrades were being done soon, which is fine.
Lovely quiet campsite and wish we had better weather when there to take up the riverside walk and walk to town.
Will definitely go back
