This site just keeps getting better. The New reception and shop are great. The pitches are very spacious, good walk through woods to Matlock. Toilets and showers are fine with plenty of hot water.
Staff are very friendly. You even get the local indian take away come round with menus for you to order your meal delivered to your tent or caravan. Great price also £13.50 inc electric per night.

First time visit to this site and was not disappointed. We normally go on electric pitches but as it was the bank holiday week, we couldn't get on, but this turned out to be a blessing as the fields are big and plenty more room.
We pitched our tent and still had plenty of room to put up our badminton net. All pitches are on a slight slope but tolerable. Toilet block is ok and clean. Showers are separate and unisex. Small shop that sells essentials.
There is an old barn that they have put three table tennis tables in, so handy when it rains. The play area is for 3 -10 year olds. Great woods to explore on site and to walk our dog. Matlock is 10 minute drive away.
Pub 5 minute drive. Overall good value for money as this is the cheapest site I've found for the facilities. Looking forward to going again.

Two adults and two children, we absolutely loved it. We stayed on a Thursday and Friday night, Friday night was obviously a lot busier, so there was more noise and a queue for the showers. But nothing that would put you off staying at this site.
Toilets and showers were clean, plenty of space too pitch your tent, a lovely on site shop. We have booked to go back again in august, definitely worth a visit,

My family - two adults, two children have just spent a lovely four nights at this site. We found this site by chance on the internet and was really surprised the cost per night and the great value for money we got for our stay.
The site is in a great location to visit the derbysire dales and is well maintained, with a great park for the kids. The pitches are good sized, but a warning - if you have a hook up make sure you have a long lead some hook up points are far away from your pitch.
Toilets and showers are great for camping, they are clean and well maintained but some fellow campers let the side down in not keeping them clean.
In all a really great site we will return hopefully this year a real gem of a site - well worth a visit.

It's a lovely site but rarely any hot water and not many showers. So we all came back minging but having had a nice time.
I agree with a previous review about it being a little noisy but the staff seem really lovely so if it was really a problem I'm sure it would have been dealt with.
The park was basic but always full, so the kids obviously like it! Definitely worth a return visit and only forty minutes away from where we live.

Had a fantastic weekend weather was fab. The site is clean and staff are really friendly. Shop on site sells basic essentials and really cheap. Small park on site which my 5 year old loved.
Toilets and showers were clean. Bit noisy at night as there were kids playing, but that's camping. All in all a really nice site

Having just bought our first tent, we thought we'd try it out for a weekend at a fairly local site, this being only a 25 minute drive. What a great site! Although it was a bank holiday weekend and they were very busy.
Pitches are very slightly sloping but it didn't cause us any problems, nicely spaced out with plenty of room. The toilets and showers are clean as were the washing up facilities. The shop sold basic essentials and the staff were very helpful.
The playground looked good although we didn't take the children with us! Beautiful walks through the woods with the dog and also down to the pub which serves food. The games room was fairly tatty with table tennis tables that had seen better days - but I'm nit picking now!
Overall an excellent site and would definitely go again / recommend it!

Fantastic site, the price is great, its just what we needed for our first outing in the little van we had.
The site is well looked after, nice small children's play area located next to a pine woods were all the kids went to make dens and play on the rope swings. There is a fantastic walk through the woods across a small field then over the road and walk along the cromford canal.
It was a fab weekend so when the weather is good it helps. They are building a new reception so when that is done it will look fantastic. We found it a bit scary coming up to the site as there is a big drop on one side of the lane but as long as you take your time its fine, but I would hate to think I had to reverse a big outfit if I met another on the way down. We will return as it's right on our doorstep.

Our favourite place ever, we have been visiting this site as often as we can since June 08. The children love it too, they love being able to go to the shop by themselves.
Owners very friendly, would love a seasonal pitch but unfortunately only available if you don't have children, will just have to keep visiting till they become teenagers and don't want to come with us anymore. Highly recommended.

We recently enjoyed a few days away at this campsite. We had a hardstanding pitch which was great, it had it's own tap and EHU and plenty of room for manoeuvre.
Great facilities for our dog who loved his walks in the woods one minute away from the van. Our children loved cycling around, playing table tennis and playing in the park. The shop was small but well stocked but I gather they are having a new bigger shop built.
There is lots to do in the area, we recommend the Matlock Bath cable cars and spent a whole day up there. The site was clean and the toilet and shower block was also (though just can't put into words how painful the mats in the showers are on bare feet!)
Friendly site owners, lovely surrounding area, beautiful walk down to the river. We would like to go back and would recommend this site to others.
