I'll start with the positive:
Close to the coast, 15 mins from Christchurch, close to lots of great walking / biking in the New Forest.
Good sized pitches
Pub within 10 minutes walk
Toilet block and washing up facilities nice and clean
Negatives:
Hundreds of mosquitoes, I don't think I've been anywhere with so many. Despite having lots of citronella candles and anti mozzy spray we all got bitten several times.
The owners were not happy that we had 2 cars, my wife (a teacher) travelled down in the afternoon as their last arrival time is 7pm and I couldn't arrive until 8.30pm as I had to work!
There was an extra charge of a couple of pounds a night which was fine with us but they were questioning why we had two cars like it was an inconvenience to them! We had to leave the extra car outside the reception office despite the fact the pitches are fixed sizes and there was plenty of room to put a second car on the pitch.
We had 2 couples with 2 tents for 2 nights and 1 tent for 2 more nights as the women were going to stay 2 more nights as they were teachers and didn't have to go back to work. We packed up the second pitch and cleared the car off by 11am. We then went to try out the golf course just after midday and were told firmly and fairly abruptly that the 2 not staying another night had to leave the site immediately and were not allowed to play golf (which would have made the site more money!) We were all left feeling very unwelcome even though they had the opportunity to make more money from us!
There was also a small amount of road noise from the main road.
For the general unfriendliness and the mozzies we will not return and I would hesitate to recommend this site, there are a lot more sites in the New Forest!

Excellent site - peaceful and clean. Very good facilities looked after by nice owners.
Approach road is bumpy but not too bad. Given choice of pitches on arrival.
The site seems secure and many people had visited numerous times which speaks well of how well the site is run.
Recommended to all but we were only camping, although many of the caravan pitches were full and the majority of the people spoken with were there with caravans.
We booked at the last minute for a 3 day break and found the site to be exactly as described on the web page.

I can only assume from all the other reviews that this campsite has changed owners because the couple that greeted us on arrival couldn't have been more helpful and friendly if they tried. This was our first trip away caravanning and I am so glad we picked this site to go to first.
The site was immaculate. The caravans and tents were well spaced apart. The shower units and toilets were always clean and well maintained, although I felt the water in the shower didn't run long enough so you kept having to push the button for more water several times/.
The shop sold the main essentials and our newspapers were always ready for collection early in the morning. This is a very dog friendly site and very quiet and peaceful.
The road to the site from the A31 is a bit bumpy but not as bad as some of the reports I have read. I certainly couldn't hear the traffic from the road.
This site is very well positioned to explore the New Forest/Bournemouth/Southampton, it is just a shame that no local pubs are within walking distance, although you are able to use all the facilities at Shamba, the family friendly park next door that has a swimming pool, well stocked shop, restaurant, bar and even entertainment on Saturday evenings.
I would not hesitate to recommend this site and can't wait to visit again.

We chose this camp site after searching it through this website. We stayed twice last year. Had an enjoyable stay on out first year returning to camping in a tent. It wasn't the cheapest but it's worth paying extra for the location, peace and lovely scenery.
Toilets and showers are clean and there is an outside wash up area. Owners are very nice and the location is very good. As others have said there is a supermarket, pub and other shops within a 5 minute drive.
Would we go there again? Yes. We're going to book another couple of visits soon.

Pro's:
-Good location for exploring Dorset
-Very friendly owners who were helpful
-Fish and chip van visited on Friday's
-Lovely and quiet apart from snoring in the next tent!
-The Woodman pub is in walking distance and is 2 for 1 on main meals and had an excellent selection.
Con's
-The floor of the showers was freezing cold and on 1 day we had no hot water. We were told by other regular visitors that this was a rare occurrence.
-The approach is down a single lane track which was very bumpy and reversing with a trailer to avoid the oncoming gas wagon was a bit nerve racking!

Really friendly, peaceful site which is tucked away well off the A31 on edge of New Forest. We chose the site because of location, adult only and their advertised disabled facilities for our mobile but disabled friend who travelled with us. Two out of three fully ticked the boxes.
Unfortunately the disabled facilities only consisted of grab rails around the toilet and the wall by the shower. The room was unheated, basin taps were push button, the shower was timed by push button and set at a fixed height, the tray provided for shower gel and shampoo bottles was located on opposite wall to shower and there were no hooks to hang clothes or bags etc.
With a little thought and a little bit of money all of these things could have been easily rectified. Needless to say by the time she had pushed the shower button and moved along the rail to get shower gel and back the shower had stopped - our disabled companion was freezing, her clothes were wet after using the facilities once and she was unable to shower during the rest of our stay.
There were also issues with the normal shower facilities. Very cold (heating on for 2 hours in morning until 9. 00/9. 30 am) and slippery floor tiles which got very muddy although a mop and bucket were provided. All in one shower cubicles with no 'drying' area and only one hook so clothes got wet. However the water was hot!
Sadly we decided to leave early due to these issues.
We may go back because of its closeness to the New Forest but only in hot weather and not with our disabled friend.
Our rating is based on the poor disabled facilities which were key to all of us being able to enjoy our trip.

We have just returned from an excellent week at this location.
OK the lane to the camp is bumpy, but you don’t expect unadopted roads to be anything but ! Our sat nav had a sense of humour, so follow the sites instructions. The site is almost opposite 199 despite it’s address. But before you go take a look on streetmap, as it is very close to the roundabout with Boundary Road. On the Southampton / London bound Carriageway
Ringwood Road, East Moors Lane
St Leonards, Ringwood, Hampshire
BH24 2SB
Look for the Shamba Sign
Near St leonards Pub on the Southampton / London bound Carriageway
We were shown into The Warren area, and assisted by the owner to push the trailer tent into position too.
OK you could hear the traffic on the main road, but that wasn’t a problem.
Used the facilities on site, they were clean and tidy. And had the usual stock of bit’s in the shop/reception area.
We would recommend this location to others, and friends too. No screaming kid’s

Tent area was large enough for no more than 10 units so not crowded or busy. We chose our own pitch against the hedge which divides the camping area from a bit of a nature lover's paradise - lake, stream, woodland. I saw a kingfisher!
Toilet and shower block immaculate and the owner was very friendly. He ordered us croissant and newspapers.
The dog walking area was a godsend. No children - bliss!
The only downside was that the site was on the A31 so we couldn't walk to any of the great pubs in the area but had to drive instead.

Stayed at this site from 12th August to 15th August, had a really great time. There was all facilities needed, staff were helpful, shower amenities were good, hot water and never had to wait to get a shower although there were only 3.
Site was safe with barrier and only access via a card and key. Site was very clean and tidy all round. Tried out the pitch and putt which was good fun.
The local pub (the Woodman) was a great place to eat with lovely food and very reasonable cost. All in all we have definitely said we would return next summer when we do some more camping.

Great site. Only there for a long weekend, but we found it really peaceful (as others have said - no noisy kids!) with a bunch of very friendly and helpful seasonal pitch owners.
It felt very homely. Loved the fact that almost every unit had a dog or dogs, all sat peacefully outside watching the world go by, just like ours did! Nice clean shower/toilet block.
Good location for access to New Forest and lovely market town of Ringwood.
Would definitely go back, and recommend this place to others.
