I have just got back from this site and thought I'd leave a review as it is fresh in my mind!
We booked this site for its promise of a quiet and peaceful environment. We stayed in the back field with a tent, right next to a family of rabbits and close to the lovely fishing ponds.
When we arrived, the road leading up to the site was really nothing to worry about, as long as you just take it easy and go slow your car will be fine. The owners were ok when we arrived, although we found the male owner a bit sarcastic and grumpy at times, not something you really want when your parting with around £20 per night.
The showers and toilets were pristine, every time they were clean and smelled fresh. This is something I was very happy with. They do leave a bucket and mop for campers use when the cleaners are not present, so most people were courteous enough to clean up after themselves.
The chemical toilet. Well yes, where do I start. This is situated close to the campers field, we'd often get a waft of 'sewage' on windy days which was really bad at times.
Other than that, we really enjoyed the peace that this site holds.Despite some noisy campers, it was a really enjoyable site.
Will book again, but will probably stay in the other field next time as the back field got very busy.

Spent 7 days on this site. Whilst it was quiet and the owners very welcoming, we felt that the pitches were too close together. We could hear our neighbours conversations and felt we had to keep our awning curtains closed in order to have some privacy whilst eating.
The dog walks and surrounding woodland was wonderful for our dog. The toilets / showers were a 6 out of 10. The floors were mostly wet and slippery. Floors in showers did not have none slip tiles and were therefore very tricky when showering. Whoever did the mopping quite obviously mopped around the items standing on the floors.(i.E. Bucket and toilet brushes etc) The mop bucket left out in the hopes that people might mop the shower after themselves, was full of very dirty water. (not nice)
Finally, we decided on this site because they offered fishing. Well if you want to catch something more than 6 inches long, this is not the site for you. Wouldn't go back.

Just spent 9 days at this site after a bumpy drive along the lane to site (long as you take it easy its ok) there is a secure barrier you pay £10 deposit for a key and security card. The owners most welcoming said we could pitch anywhere in the dog section we have 2 dogs, but showed us a pitch right next to the dog walk / woods area which suited us fine. After pitching up we did find the ground hard so you need some rock pegs.
The toilet and shower block was spotless I had lovely hot showers every day but my husband said the mens were a bit hit and miss. There is a laundry and 2 washing up areas in and out.
The site is situated off the A31 so you always have to go up to the roundabout when ever you go anywhere but we got use to it. Their was a very nice pub 15mins to walk The Woodman 2 4 1 meals and in the other direction prob about 30mins walk the St. Leonards Hotel 2 meals 4 £9.95 or a good section from their main menu.
The site has good access to Bournemouth and all surrounding coastal towns. There is a hugh car boot on a sunday near by. Great site would return again if in the area.

Chose this site for our first camping trip because of the excellent reviews. It is beautiful, quiet, clean, friendly. Everything we wanted.
Set up in emmas field. Badger set about 30 yards away, horses in the field behind us. Two lovely linked ponds. We both struggle to find anything wrong. Will be booking again, tried to for next weekend, but fully booked.
Did read some critical comments about the state of the road. Nothing wrong with it that driving with care won't solve.
On the way in, there is a fishery on the left.

We have just spent 2 nights here and we really enjoyed it. We stayed in the 'warren', it was really quiet and we practically had the field to ourselves. It is lovely and peaceful and you can't even hear the road. All you can hear is the birds singing and the odd frog ribbit.
The toilets and showers are fully air conditioned and are kept very clean. There is a Lidl, Sainsburys, McDonalds, Halfords (handy for camping items if you've forgotten anything) and Waitrose isn't far in the other direction.
Wimborne is a lovely little historic marketing village, worth a little look around. There is a Chinese takeaway and fish and chips not far from the site, just next to the roundabout across from Sainsburys.
The owners of the site are lovely and helpful. There is a good dog walking area on the campsite.
The campsite also makes fresh bread to order, you can order it the day before, then it is ready to be picked up at 8.30am the next morning. We ordered two granary baguettes and they were absolutely yummy. It cost £1.40 for two small baguettes.
All in all, a very welcoming campsite and we will definitely be visiting again.

We were recommended to try this site last year, stayed for 10 days in March 2010. Poor site entrance road, approx half mile unmade track very uneven, so only went in out once a day.
Very nice quite site, two small lakes, woods and plenty of wildlife around, but this is predominantly a seasonal pitch site. Site owners were quite helpful on arrival and helpful with pitching considering the wet conditions.
Shower block adequate but basic, cleaning did not seem to happen every day but there again so few people actually present during the week probably thought it was not required.
Mens urinals do not seem to be connected to flush water supply, not good if this is correct.

Stayed at this site for week in mid September.
A great site and easy to find. The lane is a bit bumpy (loads of previous complainers on here) but we found it okay especially if you stick to the speed limit.
We stayed in the 'Warren' with lots of wildlife. The owner is not at all grumpy but does have a dry sense of humour.
Plus points - centrally located, lovely surroundings, excellent facilities, no kids, no noise after 10pm.
Minus points - We could just about hear the road and that's about it.
A great site, would return and recommend it.

A lovely Site. With Friendly owners. The facilities were superb. We stayed on the Warren and it 's easy to see how it got its name Rabbits a plenty!.
Only slight negative was the drive to the barrier very bumpy! Also I caught a rock letting a car past and took the side wall of my tyre out so watch out for the rocks!
The noise from the A31 is not really noticeable after the first night.
As its on the flightpath to several Airports I found the planes louder!
A lovely Stay. So much to see and do in the area!

We chose this site as it is adult only and has fishing and stayed for 3 weeks. As with other reviews we missed the site entrance first time and had to have a second try to find it, which we did. The lane to the site barrier had a lot of potholes which at first sight is daunting, the owners met us and made us welcome with detailed info about the site and surrounding area and told us to pitch anywhere which I prefer.
There are many seasonals there but the site was never full and our pitch was flat and well drained, each one has 10 amp electricity. There are ample fresh water points but the tap is a push type which stopped dead on release. We found the site quiet and never noticed any noise from the A31 apart from the odd motor bike.
The toilet blocks were clean with plenty of hot water and excellent showers but not everyone would mop them out ready for the next person. Again the taps were push type which also only flowed slowly if the toilet block was busy. The Elsan and waste water point stand alone at the end of the toilet block and could smell badly if the wind blew in the wrong direction. There are 2 washing up sinks, one outdoors but not covered, the other in the laundry room.
There is a distinct lack of large fish in the ponds, everyone was only catching gudgeon or small tench and roach up to half a pound, there are no biggish carp in there which is why we went there after reading some previous reviews.
We also liked the dog walk through the woods and the pitch and putt course.
Locally there are plenty of places for food, Sainsburys, Tesco, Lidl, 2 pubs with meals for 2 for £9-95, or bogof, fish and chip shop, and a camping shop.
Most of the coastal towns are well within half an hour drive, the New Forest about 5 mins drive, and there's 2 country parks also 5 to 10 mins away.
Altogether a very enjoyable 3 weeks apart from the entrance lane and lack of carp in the pond.

This site is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS !
We stayed here for 10 nights in August and brought our Labrador X along with us to keep us busy. I am a person who doesn’t sit down a lot and relax but managed to spend every day in a comfy chair with a book and relax !
The site is sign posted from the road but the “Shamba” sign is more prominent so look out for that, especially if heading from Ringwood (The East). Access is by a drive with passing places for some 400m-500m. This road is not tarmac and some reviews have complained about it. However due to it being a single road with other people using it for access and having a few bends, it’s unlikely that you would be speeding down it. 10-15mph in and out, with or without a caravan is sound.
The site: Barrier entry for security with side foot gate. Mel and Sue were fantastic hosts and are fountains of local knowledge. The reception does have a small shop for “bare essentials”. Those who complained about this… what were you expecting, a supermarket ? For those wanting this follow the A31 to Dorchester and you’ll see a Lidl or just past Halfords is Sainsburys. Reception does however do delicious fresh pastries in the morning. Order them the day before, get some jam and yum yum yum.
The pitch was flat and huge, very open and great. There is a mixture of pitches in or out of nature to suit everyone but little natural shade in the caravan area – you might want a parasol. Toilet blocks were clean and tidy with lots of hot water. Never had a problem with queuing or access. Pot washing too is indoors and outdoors. On site there is fishing is you like that sort of thing, a wooded walk and a 9 hole pitch and putt which is also perfect for dogs to run on. They run the pitch and putt for charity. My best was 49 shots !
Head to the Woodman for some grub, a 15 minute walk on the flat and good value.
If you have a dog. The site is good and we managed to tire our Labrador out on it and she will go for miles. Or head for Highcliffe Castle and the beach there. Corfe Castle and Hurst Castle are great and dog friendly too.
The site has great access to all places, just accept that you have to go a mile down the road on the dual carriage way to the island and back.
You will read reviews about this site and people complaining. I can only assume that these people have nothing better to do and try and find fault with something.
Sadly it is doubtful that we will return soon. This is however only as we are expecting our first child in December and 200 miles is too far for the weekend. Although the grandparents did mention babysitting.
