A wonderful, peaceful site with very friendly and helpful owners/wardens.
On arrival on a scorching hot afternoon we were invited to choose from various pitches around the site but the pitch we favoured was not one of those. However Mel came out to see where it was we picked, (for the shade mostly) and even though not a regular pitch allowed us to set up just where we wanted. It was an excellent pitch and really made for a good break.
The toilets/showers were spotless whenever I went there; grass well cut, (but not scattered everywhere to stick to your feet and tread into tent/van); good walks through woods and green area for dogs to exercise; croissant, bread and newspapers available from site shop - to order;site maintained to a high standard.
Woodman pub just down the road within walking distance but not a pleasant walk as along main road with no pavement; it is just a short drive and two main meals for £10; in the other direction is another hotel with, if I remember correctly, a three course menu for £8. 95.
The campsite entrance is off a dual carriageway so if approaching from north you do have to go right around the roundabout then turn left into site - on leaving you must turn left and head north but no great problem as another roundabout just up the road.
We would definitely go there again.

Wonderful camp site! Spotless and very well run by the friendly owners. Security barrier entrance, so feels very secure. Toilets fab, very very clean. Brilliant site, peaceful and lovely to wake up to the sound of birdsong. M & S foodstore closeby (attached to petrol station) so very handy indeed. Lots to see and do in the area, Poole is worth a visit and of course its handy for New Forest. Can't wait to return. Very happy camping experience, thank you to the owners.

Just spent two nights here and we loved it we went to a camp site near corfe castle for two nights previous, and back of beyond knocks spots! of the previous site. The owners and other campers where very friendly, the facilities are first class to, pitches are grass!, so better for dogs to lay on in awning, plenty of room for dog walking, no long walks to fill up water containers, no noise apart from the birds, its very peaceful site and its door step to new forest and shops! should you need to do a little shopping, word! of warning! just don't send the wife in to the supermarket, otherwise you will need a lorry to carry shopping back to the site. Superb! Waitrose store on door step.
This site is a credit to the owners. Thank you.

We have recently bought a pennine pathfinder, and visited this site as we didn't want to go to anywhere too far away from home.
The site was very good, with electric hook up and we were put in the Warren, whereby there were only 3 other pitches being used! We had the pick of the bunch, we were only there for a weekend and it rained all the time but the site itself is very clean and tidy. Both the owners were very friendly and we met some pleasant other campers!
The toilet blocks were clean but they had only opened the middle block due to not very many people, this was a bit of a shame as we still had paid the full price.
It was a very quiet and peaceful site, the dog walking area all be it a bit on the small side was good. The pitch and putt area to me seems a bit of a waste of ground. Maybe this should be made secure to make an exercise yard for dogs, and also a BBQ area. The owners could then charge and run theme nights perhaps.
We went to the St. Leonards Hotel on the Saturday to watch the FA cup final and it weas very good service, and allows dogs in there. The food was excellent and we walked there within 20 minutes with the dog. Stumbled back at about 2300hrs, so you can tell it was a good pub!
There is some road noise from the A31 but nothing that spoils your stay, the main noise is all of the wildlife that wakes you early in the morning. I will be visiting it again, when I want to just get away from home for a weekend.

Nice quiet site, very relaxing, just a couple of observations, free WIFI is only available around reception and although there are tables and chairs to sit on they are not under cover in case of inclement weather. Fished for two days and caught just one fish, Hand sanitiser or soap would be nice in the chemical waste disposal.

Lovely quiet site as it states. Really clean and looked after. Lovely walks for the dog. Wash rooms and toilet facilities spotless no matter what time you went in there' owners friendly and helpful. Lane was a bit bumpy as you came in but was ok. Very easy and close to get to other places towns and attractions, other people on site very friendly and stopped to have a chat with you as they were passing. Would definitely stay here again

One of the nicest camp sites I have ever visited. Situated in its own park, with ponds for fishing and a wood to walk your dog, with its own golfing area for which we could borrow the equipment for free. Ample space to put a tent where-ever you want in the tent area - caravans have their own area with electricity. Yes there were mosquitoes, a lot of them, what do you want in August near a pond !
Big supermarket within 15 min drive, several pubs to eat as well at around the same circle. 20min drive from the New Forest, which I'd never heard of before but beautiful area to walk. Big carriage road nearby, which noise you can hear when you listen well (its not disturbing), but which then has the advantage you can go easily anywhere.
Toilet/shower facilities are divided up into bits and pieces, so you have to look a bit where you need to go, but are generally clean which is the most important. The dishwashing area could do with some modernisation. Owner is very strict on nr of people due to legal restrictions as its natural park protected area.

Got back from a 3 night stay yesterday and we had a really great time, the campsite is very clean, toilets and showers really good compared to the other 4 camps we have stayed at so far this year.
The owners are very friendly and helpfully, shop stores basic needs with an ice cream fridge.
A really lovely quiet site with fishing for a relaxing time away, would recommend to anyone and will defo be going back again.

Nice clean site, very well maintained but if you wish to view all the latest gadgets and gismos then this is certainly the place to stroll around.
With two dogs we were placed as far away from the walking area as could be but they enjoyed the woodland in the mornings. Apparently the long stay visitors 'police' the site and I was told by one after pitching that I should not be near the path leading to the lake fishing area despite going where told too and tucking vehicle behind tent.
All other campers/vanners and mobile people were super though. All in all a nice place to stay but may I suggest a dog lead hook near loos etc as it was often to hot to leave them in car or tent when showering or washing up etc. A handy log sufficed.

The site itself is well laid out and spacious with separate fields for tents - where we pitched was close to the fishing lake and we were bothered by mosquitoes a lot in the evenings. The showers and toilets were clean and there was plenty of hot water.
The owners will freeze ice packs for 25p each with the money going to charity, but we had to ask about this - it is not an advertised service.
There were two downsides to our visit - firstly the site access road is off the A31 dual carriageway which is a very busy road and quite hair-raising to enter and exit from with fast moving traffic; and secondly when I called to request an early arrival due to expected heavy rain I was told the site was full so this was not possible. I accepted this, but when we arrived there were only 2 tents pitched in an area big enough for at least 10, so I feel this was a bit unhelpful of the owners.
