A well kept site tucked away down a track into the woods but well worth the drive. The site is very peaceful but at night you can hear the rumble of traffic through the still of the night but you soon forget its there. As we went in September it was a little chilly, the shower block heating didn't seem to be on but it does distract from the site overall. The owners wife was helpful and informative, didn't speak to her husband as he was busy working around site. There is a pub about 10 to 15 mins walk away which did some good food at a reasonable price (the woodman I think the pub was called).Overall a pleasant stay and would go back.

We stayed here for a week during one of the mixed weather weeks last summer. One key reason for picking this site was as it is a child free zone - as I work with children it is nice to have a holiday away from children playing! And having no screaming children around was a joy during the week!
The road down to the site is not at all user friendly, incredibly bumpy and dark at night, and as stated on their website, the idea of the local pubs being in walking distance is not so due to the condition of the roads. As a female I would not like to walk down there at night.
We found Sue to be very pleasant but her husband not so and wouldn't give us the time of day, not at all helpful or friendly.
On arrival we were given a map and told of set areas meant for just tents however on looking round to find the pitch we fancied, this was not the case and caravans had taken up such areas, we feel that the owners should have picked up on this and told such caravans to move.
We had to set up pitch in between other caravans on the main field (as we had hook up) and felt there should be some segregation for tents and caravans. No disrespect to those who caravan, but it is much nicer to be alongside fellow campers rather than sandwiched between 2 caravans.
There are some lovely walks through the site but the pitch and putt needed some work doing - cutting of grass and identifying of each hole - we may then have considered using it.
The website states that they have games available and will freeze freezer packs for holiday makers at no extra charge but from our own experience and fellow holiday makers there were lots of 'hidden costs' and we were told we had to make donations to charity. Don't get me wrong, I have no qualms in donating to charity, but I choose which charity I donate to and don't want to be forced into doing so.
The toilet facities were lovely, but agree with other comments that fellow holiday makers did not use the bucket and mop facitiy and so sometimes would have to mop out a muddy shower before use.
There weren't enough washing up facilities and my problem for this is one was located next to the ladies and on occasions it wouldn't be pleasant washing up your dishes with certain smells!
The shop was very limited and although it stocked bread rolls, you had to pre order them the day before. They were not cheap - can get far more for your money at the local supermarkets.
I did however feel safe in the park with the gated access which only holiday makers staying could access and the site was in a great location for many great days out, we ventured to Guernsey one day and is a must. On rainy days though, there are limited activities to do, especially if you are on a budget.
This is one site that I don't feel I will be returning to.

We spent the last week in September at this site, very quite and peaceful site but the main road can be heard at night. The owners are great and gave us a warm friendly welcome when we arrived. The site is full of wild life and the wooded walks are lovely especially if you have a dog. The facilities were very clean at all times and the showers very nice. We found the road to the site not as bad as previous reviews pointed out, but was a little on the bumpy side. Site has ok fishing, lakes need a good weed when we visited and a great nine hole pitch and putt, all free to residents on the site. Site shop stocks the basics but Sainsbury’s supermarket only a mile from site. If required a good camping shop is also within a short distance. The site is a great base for touring the sites of Dorset. Swanage, Poole and the Jurassic coast all within a close distance. A visit to Lulworth Cove, Old Harry Rock’s and Durdle Door are all to within a short distance and well worth a visit. On the whole a very nice adults only site in very nice surroundings.

Thank you for a fantastic site, stayed at BoB for 4 days, we were met with a warm friendly and informative welcome, the site was great, everything that was said on the website was accurate, this site is situated in the middle of wildlife heaven, deer behind the fishing pools with squirrels, rabbits and birds in abundance. There is a small wood for walking the dogs in which is a refreshing change from a paddock or a lane!
We had a fantastic time, we will definitely return, the area is amazing, a drive down to Old Harry's Rocks is worth a visit. Surrounded by the New Forest you are never short of things to do. The only thing that we thought the camp site could do with is slip mats in the showers.
Overall well worth a stay :-)

Like everyone else says, lovely and quiet. Really did like that. BUT, we found the road leading into the camp almost unbearable. (I suffer with back probs so any jolting is not nice. It took a good 10 mins to negotiate the holes in the ground and go over them so slowly). Was a big off-putter for us. Probably okay if you intend to camp up and not leave the grounds until you go home, but we were in and out 2-3 times a day sometimes and dreaded it in the end. Wouldn't have minded if the road hadn't have been so long! You have to get your shower early-ish or else you dont get hot water. Same goes for washing up. One lady I spoke to said she used the toilet in the early hours of the morning and there was no light. Not enough washing up sinks either. And I agree with the previous reivewee, needs more waste bins around. But if you want to snuggle down to sleep at about 10pm, this is the place to go. Deathly quiet. Dogs are allowed but we found the owners to be very responsible while we were there. You cant walk to any shops (too far away) so driving (down that awful road) is a necessity if you want to get to the shops. Then there is no choice but to drive right up to the next roundabout, turn around and come back again (past the campsite to the next roundabout and finally into Sainsburys)

Visited BoB this weekend for just two nights. Unfortunately weather wasn't that ace but still had a fab time. We were met by the site owner who gave us a map and off we went. Pitched in Rebecca's field which was lovely and had some flat areas. The whole area is deathly quiet bar the noise from the nearby 'A' roads. I've never been to an adults only site before but would definitely use one again - made such a difference not being woken up at 7am in the morning by excited children (I love kids but a tent is so thin you hear everything :-) My only negative point - and one I think most women would agree with me on - is there is no 'get ready' areas for us girls to use our own hairdryers/straighteners etc. I love camping but do love my home comforts. We unfortunately couldn't get an electric pitch but I wasn't worried as most campsites we've stayed at have had separate areas away from running water where girls could get ready/do their hair. They do provide a hairdryer but its naf - I breathe more air then that thing let out! Still it's only a small point, did try cracking a joke with the owner about it - he didn't seem pleased at my humour so kept schum after that!. Maybe something for them to invest in in the future?!? Anyway, top site, would go back if we got an electric pitch, especially loved the warm bread you could order in the morning (only between certain times), toilet blocks lovely and clean (could do with an air freshener though as was a dull toilet smell around). Showers were hot and powerful, private wash rooms in the ladies. There is only one bin on site near reception, as previously stated in other reviews could do with more dotted around the campsite, but hey whats a little exercise. The road leading up is terrible, but its prob way too costly to repair. Local area is glorious, plenty to see and do! Didn't try the local pub as it didn't look that hot. We went into Fordingbridge about 20mins away and had a brill meal at 'The George' - best steak and ale pie ever! Have a great time is booked to go

We stayed here for a week in July. The site is very pleaceful and very calming. The pitches are a very good size. It's a great site with very good facilities. Area to walk the dogs was great to give them a run about. There is a sainsbury's supermarket and some other shops that are 5 mins drive away. Great site for access to the new forest and to Bournemouth and other beaches. There are beaches that you are able to take dogs on and these are clearly marked on the beach plans etc. There is a 2 for 1 pub down the road which offers great food and good prices and has a great outside area. There is a site next door which has a club house that non residents are able to also use. Access to the site can be a bit bumpy as the road is uneven in places. We will definitely be going back next year.

Just returned from a very pleasant week there, lucky as it has been the best week of the summer so far (weather-wise) although the last day saw me taking down the tent in a force 7 gale with pounding rain! Set the tent up on 'Emmas Field' which is a separate field away from the main caravan and tent field and has mature trees and bushes within it as well as round the edges, you can select where to pitch which I liked very much, feels remote but isn't if you know what I mean as the toilet/shower block is very close, you just have to plan for sun positioning at certain times of the day. Frankly I can't say anything bad about the site at all, just nitpicking such as . Showers and toilets very clean but some people didn't use the buckets and mops provided to clean the shower floors after themselves. Shop has very limited stock of everything, even bread rolls and newspapers have to be pre-ordered. Loads of good points, fishing ponds are very tranquil and relaxing, with lots of beautifully coloured dragonflys and the woodland area of the park near the pitch and putt is great for dogs and for a gentle stroll. Walking to the nearest pub takes 15 minutes up the lane then to the right, but take a torch at night. It does great food and seems to have a permanent 2 for1 offer on, it does lack a bit of atmosphere however especially when food is finished, my preference is for a little live music for example but you won't find anything like that here. A short drive away is the New Forest itself of course, this was my first trip there in any detail which we really enjoyed. A highly recommended site which I will most certainly visit again next year if not before.

We spent 4 wonderful nights here, arrived on weds and met sue who was very friendly and gave us plenty of info, told we could walk around and choose a pitch. We decided on pitching next to a caravan with was unoccupied. It was so peaceful when we arrived, when setting up we felt like we should be whispering. It stayed lovely and peaceful through the whole of our stay. There was plenty of people on site but we never found the toilet and showers were busy. They were always clean, with plenty of hot water. (the taps in the sinks were a bit annoying as they never stayed on) The only thing I never really liked was the fact that you had to go right to the back of the field to get rid of your washing up water. (right next to the toilet disposal) there was no hose to wash container out. (also the smell coming from there was not very nice) I thought it would of been better to pour down the drain by water, as its only dirty water, and rinse out with the tap water. It was the most peaceful site we have ever stayed on and would highly recommend it. People moan about the lane, but if you go steady its not a problem. Its in a great location for the new forest. We will definitely be returning. 9/10

Just arrived home from this lovely site. We arrived in a torrential downpour on Thursday and thought OH OH. But we found a pitch that was fine. Given the amount of rain the ground was solid. We stayed until Sunday and really enjoyed ourselves despite the heavy rain on Saturday evening. Sue and Mike are lovely and very helpful. The site is peaceful and the ponds and countryside of the site are immaculate. The facilities were very clean and enough for our needs. I didn't have to queue once for the showers. Only criticism and it's picky is that the only bin for rubbish is at the entry to the site a fair old way if you're on the bottom camping field.but hey ho exercise! There is tons to do in the area from visiting the Raptor and Reptile centre to playing in the sand and chasing waves in the sea. Only problem was that there is a fantastic camping shop very nearby and we ended up buying a new tent! Have to recommend this shop too as when the chap saw how full the car was he said he courier the tent for free! All in all a great time and I would highly recommend the site for it's layout, friendliness and facilities. Yes as others said the road up to it is a little pot holey.well my OH thought a tank had practised on it but well worth the manoeuvring.
