This is a lovely, extensive site, beautifully kept and very welcoming. The long approach to the site is narrow, with passing places, and quite rough and bumpy.
The owners and wardens are extremely helpful and on hand at all times. The only disappointment was the lack of a fully serviced pitch, which we favour.
The site shop is well stocked with excellent local produce.
The pitches are really well spaced with plenty of room and privacy.
A great, peaceful site for exploring the New Forest and the South Coast.
We will certainly return. A most enjoyable stay.

We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at Back of Beyond. We visited last year twice after the new owner Vicki and Martyn took over. They have clearly worked very hard and it shows.
The pitches are huge and we were able to choose where to put our tent. The shower blocks have been painted and the showers are all new with plenty of hot water. Spotless too, at all times.
It is now possible to buy local meat and bread at the shop which stocks a good amount of staples. After a year Vicki remembered which newspaper I wanted which was a really nice touch. I dispute the previous comments about the owners being unfriendly. We have always been warmly welcomed.
If you want a site with all the entertainment, then this one is not for you. However if you want somewhere a little more out of the way, quiet and with lots of countryside around you then try this place out. Younwont be disappointed.

Lovely quiet site with a lot of seasonal pitches. The site was peaceful and perfect for middle ages campers with dogs thanks to woodland walks which the dogs adored. Central for touring the new forest and the south coast. The pitches were of ample size and we were allowed to pitch where we liked. We did not pre book which was not a problem. The toilet/shower blocks were spotlessly clean with hot showers, albeit the dreaded push button! A small shop available for essentials with a Sainsbury's and Lidl's less than 5 minutes drive. The only down side was the access lane to the site which was full of large potholes and was flooded in places. (make sure you have an empty bladder before attempting)! Would go again for a long weekend as it was so relaxing with only birdsong being heard.

Recently returned from for a very pleasant week at BoB. This is a really nice adults only campsite.
There are plenty of well maintained free facilities & constant hot water. A good forested dog walking area. Good sized pitches, camp fires allowed. Small but good basic needs shop with excellent local meats. Coffee machine, nice seating area, fresh baked goods for breakfast.
They offer a freezer block facility for a charity donation & the fee Wi-Fi around the house was unfortunately welcome as my wife had to do some work. Winbourn Minster, Ringwood, Christchurch & Lymington are all good, close by and worth a visit. Pool was OK too.
The site, like most, does have a few draw backs. There are a lot of seasonal pitches, it was quite quiet when we were there but the occupiers were more inclined to keep them selves to their selves than the rest of the site. I wouldn't go quite as far as unfriendly, but not many cheery good mornings.
The actually access to the site is straight off the A31 dual carriageway, getting to the site is fine as it's just next to the round about, but leaving you have to put your foot down hard to pull out sometimes and go several miles to the next roundabout to turn around if you wanted to go in the opposite direction. Also the site is at the end of a half mile bumpy track you certainly know about it when you first arrive and the car and your bladder are both fit to burst. Its a shared access so not entirely BoB's responsibility.
The pitch and putt is more a pitch & pitch and could be better maintained if it's a selling point & is shared with the dog walking. You can hear the A31 at night, but it fairly distant most of the time, but its worth taking ear plugs if your a light sleeper. We had two nights when motor bikes raced up and down for several hours.
Avoid the local pub the Woodsman. 2-4-1 family orientated chain, wont take dogs and the beer was terrible.
It is quite expensive & extras like the campfire & charity donations for the freezer blocks do add up. But you do have to balance this against it being a good campsite & I guess helps keep the chav element away.
The grass could have been better kept, however it was end of season and they were doing a lot of work whilst were there.
The owners were always very helpful. Perhaps a lot more business like than some, but we don't endorse some of the other reviews about them unfriendly. Its an adults only campsite, therefore your an adult, if your practical needs are met, deal with it.
This actually sounds like I'm having a moan about the site, I'm not, we had a great time and extended our original 5 night stay by one night & we'd certainly go back (some friends have just gone on our recommendation). Its just good to know the pit-falls so you are not disappointed & can be prepared.

We are new campervan owners and have been trying out our set up over the last three weekends. We picked this site as it said adults only and felt like giving it a try. Having read the reviews I was a bit dubious about the site, but this was unfounded. Firstly, the apporach to the site is up a track which clearly states to drive at 5 mph. Remember it is a track and a little bumpy, but I mean little. It certainly did not have large pot holes as described in previous reviews, so assume the track has been maintained. On arrival we were shown personally by the gentleman in reception to the Warren Camping area, a quiet part of the campsite with electric hook-up, perfect for our one night. He asked if this was okay because if not we could find somewhere else on the site. He directed us to the amenities and the water stations, rather than just handing us the map, as has been previous experiences as other sites. The toilet and shower block was clean, smelt nice and the water was hot. The showers ran for longer than the usual, what feels like 5 seconds, giving you time to rinse lather and repeat! there are inside and outside dish washing facilities and a laudry area. The site has a shop with essentials, pitch and putt, which you can hire clubs and balls for a small donation to charity. The site is surrounded by wildlife and even though we didn't venture further from our pitch than the toilet block we saw rabbits, squirrels and some lovely birds. A very peaceful and highly recommended site.

Lovely site near Ringwood, few tents at this time of year so lots of lovely space to spread out.
Reception, Loos & Showers all immaculate.
Good selection of bits in the shop area, inc local butcher's meat & daily fresh bread delivery, as well as 'Baked on site' breakfast pastries if you order in advance. Daily papers also available.
Free WIFI by Reception.
Only downside was the 24/7 road noise from the A31, which was quite noticeable at night as it was so still.

This is a wonderful site if you want peace, quiet and tranquility. Really well kept and very clean toilets and showers. The site is at the end of a long unmade up road, but I think the potholes which other reviewers have mentioned have been filled in because although a bit bumpy there were no real 'holes'. The lakes and woodlands are lovely, and Emmasfield where we pitched, had beautiful oak trees in it. We didn't take advantage of the facilities at the site up the road (bar etc. ) because we loved it where we were.

Just returned from couple of nights here. Fantastic site, lovely owners, facilities clean and in good condition. Reception really helpful and sells your essentials plus local sausages (delicious). Pitches spacious and clean. Lots of space and lovely and quiet, but not stuffy. Great dog walk in the woods too. Would definitely return.

Fabulous site, one of the best I have visited throughout Europe. Sanitary block perfectly clean with soap, cleaning cloths and flowers even in the men's block. Dish washing area supply drainer bowl and even hand moisturiser for use after. Pitches large, staff friendly, wooded area great for dog walking and pitch and putt good fun. Chippy comes Monday night, barbecue another night and Mexican another. Bit of a narrow bumpy track leading to the site but no problem if taken slow.

Just returned from a fantastic couple of nights away at this site.
Was looking through this website for somewhere in Dorset, and stumbled upon this place. I read some of the reviews, and decided to give it a whirl.
It was out first time in an Adult only Campsite, and oh boy what a difference! So quiet, so peaceful. At times you can hear a pin drop. Don't get me wrong, I love kids. But sometimes you just want a little bit of time to escape! What a great place to recharge the batteries.
The owners were lovely, the toilets/showers clean and tidy. The showers stayed on a decent amount of time and had good pressure.
There was even some nice toiletries to use.
They have a 9 hole 'for fun' pitch and putt, where they let you have the balls/clubs just for a small donation to a charity.
There are free Doggy poo bags and Doggy treats at reception.
We have decided now whenever we can escape the kids we will definitely be going to another tranquil Adults only site!
