My wife and I plus son have just returned from staying at this lovely campsite for 4 nights of quiet bliss. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by mel and given a map of the site and told to pitch where we wanted to and we found we were spoilt for choice as there was so much room.
The shower blocks were spotless and cleaned frequently (ladies hairdryer is not as bad as some reviewers have said in the past according to wife it does a job, ('it drys your hair') the actual site itself is so quiet and peaceful at night you dont hear nothing, the A31 is about 1/2 mile away and yes if you want to you can hear the traffic in the distance but you will soon forget that it is there.
Dogs, we took 2 jack russells with us and I think they were in heaven the dog exercise area is 18 acres of pure fun for them with rabbits to chase and lots of open spaces to run plus woods to get lost in as well.
The site has a shop as such in the reception area with most things you might need if not lidl's and sainsburys not a million miles away. The woodman pub is 8/10 of a mile away up the so called pot holed lane which is not that bad we had a very good meal in there which was really cheap.
Overall we found this to be a very pleasant stay on a lovely campsite and we will be going back

Spent two nights at site and found it very quiet and picturesque, (shame about the weather). Toilet and Shower facilities were very clean and modern. Water points had hot and cold water.
Pitches were very spacious and flat, Will definitely be going back. Not in the new forest, but only 10 mins drive away and the access lane was not as bad as some people implied. Mc D's, Sainsburys, Boots and a couple of pubs only 5 mins drive away and best of all NO KIDS!

Stayed here for a long weekend in early July in absolutely atrocious weather - but we didn't let it deter us !.

This really is a great site run by a great couple. No screaming kids kicking footballs at your tent!. The dogs were well catered for with a nice walking area in the woods - but beware the stream that runs along the edge of the woods - the dogs had to go in and came out absolutely black!.

Toilet and shower facilities were first class very clean and with lots of hot water but am told that the hair drier in the ladies is a waste of time - as reported by a previous reviewer. We had hook up and a hair drier (she wouldn't go anywhere without it !) so that wasn't important.

When you first arrive on site it looks as if they are really busy but a high percentage of the caravans there are 'seasonals' with seemingly not very many occupied at the time we were there. The pitches in 'The Warren' where we set up camp are generous to say the least - I just hope that they stay that way in the future and they do'nt try to squeeze a few more in. Glad I took two hook up cables though as the pitch we chose (F14 I believe) was a fair way from the mains box!.

Locally the 'travellers' seem to have taken over the car park at Avon Heath where we would usually take the dogs for a run followed by a lovely breakfast at the cafe in the morning but didn't feel as if we could safely leave the car there for very long so didn't bother - a shame - and the bogs were closed!.

Site is ideal for exploring the New Forest without actually staying on an overcrowded noisy site. Handy also for the Poole/Dorchester/Salisbury area which we love. Don't worry about the potholes in the lane - you can go round most of them and they add to the character of the area!. A31 can be a bit of a challenge to get onto from the lane if you time it wrong. You have to drive about a mile in the wrong direction to Avon Heath roundabout and back down the other side of the dual carriageway (should be DUEL sometimes)to get to Sainsbury's and Lidl (more travellers).

Shop in reception has most essentials if you forget something.

All in all a lovely quiet site that I wouldnt hesitate to return to and recommend (and I dont say that too often!)

 What a lovely site!

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for a few nights in May over the bank holiday and had such a nice weekend.

The welcome from the owners was friendly and we found them to be pleasant throughout. The fact that this is an adults-only site gives it a big advantage. We were allowed to choose our own pitch too which we liked.

People have complained about the road leading to the campsite being potholed and bumpy. It wasn't nearly as bad as some people made out and I'm not being funny but it's the countryside - what do you expect?! As for the noise from the main road, where we were you could hardly hear it although the noise was probably louder if you were nearer the main road. I just think some caravaners are a little too uptight!

The loos and showers were modern and clean.

The lake for fishing was quite small but picturesque and literally a few steps from our pitch - although everyone only seemd to be catching small fish even though the owners said there were abotu 20 carp in there?

We visited Wimborne market on the Sunday and had a lovely time. Everyone was so friendly.

The site was only a short drive to the New Forest although it wasn't in the forest itself. There were a few pubs a short walk from the site and also a Sainsburys, petrol garage and a McDonalds.

Overall the site was fab, we had a great time and hope to go back very soon.

We arrived at the turn off which is a sharp turn right after the round about and down a long potholed road

After booking in the owner said pick your place out and said there are only 20 of you on the site but it looked full as there was all these seasonal vans on the site with hardly anyone in them (my wife had a name for these she said they are dead caravans)
The toilets and showers was very clean but could not get into the laundry room without getting it unlocked (we are remember on a adult only park) also the push on water taps was a bind

The walks was nice and the site tidy we will not be returning to this site

A quiet site, well located for visiting the area. A warm welcome on arrival, we were given a map of the site and able to pick our own very generous pitch from a selection of areas - dogs, no dogs, electric hook up etc. We chose the no dogs area, full of playful rabbits and a selection of wild birds. The shower block a short walk, very clean with plenty of hot water. There is noise from the A31 but not enough to cause a distraction.

We think this site is wonderful we have been seasonals here for six years. Why go anywhere else when you have everything in one place. Peace and quiet, fishing (beautiful lake), pitch and putt, wild life, woodland walk, river with nice views, convenient shop, very clean toilets and showers, safe and security, friendly atmosphere.

The owners Sue and Mel are very welcoming and have a great sense of humour. There are lots of places to visit, imformation leaflets in reception so you can plan your days out while you are there. I know every one is intitled to their opinion well this is ours, when reading some other reviews I think people forget the nature of camping and the fun of it, after all it is a campsite. Happy holidays!

Just back from having spent the weekend at this lovely little site. The site itself is superb - lots of room, very quiet, plenty of wildlife and open spaces, a nice little shop and easily accessible from the A31. The owners were lovely and very helpful in our opinion and the toilet/shower blocks were some of the cleanest we'd seen.

The Woodman pub (about a 15 min walk) was OK - cheap and cheerful food and fairly handy, if not the most tranquil and atmospheric pub you'll find in the area.

Shame the site isn't a bit closer to the nearby villages/walks, but all in all we'd recommend a visit here if you're after some peace and quiet and a good base to explore the New Forest and/or Salisbury.

Back again so they must be doing something right! I'm pretty fussy you see ;-) But having read through some of the recent reviews I can see why some may think it necessary to provide a critique that includes how they are treated by the owners and the pot holes etc etc. but not why the focus hasn't been on what is on offer.

This site is truly beautiful. Catering for all those that are genuinely in pursuit of a tranquil setting with open areas, meadows and lakes surrounded by wonderful species, forna and silence!

Mel and Sue Pike are obviously enjoying their piece of paradise which I greatly envy. It's important others do not confuse this with what may sometimes be percieved as 'offish' in approach. They really are genuinely nice people - just proud, happy and hard working! Lakes are small but beautiful with some fantastic various species (if you're patient)

Poured with rain most of the time, but Emma's Field was empty save us which I was delighted with. Real medicine for getting life balance back and thoroughly recommended. No hook up in EF as it's a SSSi (Specialist Site Scientific Interest) but that's cool with me.

As an addendum - Potholes are better but it does serve to protect you from 'Chav Season' so be careful what you ask for ;-)

Good luck and happy camping all x

Second time we have been to this site and have noticed some improvements since last visit.

Owners have done some planting around the site, added some extra tarmacked road and gravel roads, plus lighting points to direct through to the Warren where we were pitched.

Found the owners very helpful and pleasant once again.

Small shop was well stocked and fortunately had a puncture repair kit to resolve air bed disaster.

Great that there are no kids! Most of the pitches are seasonal hires so the site was quite quiet even for a bank holiday weekend. Never had to queue for showers or loos and only once to wash up (only two sinks for washing up and one is outside)

Owner recommended the Two for One pub down the road (15 minute walk) which was excellent value - we went on a Bank holiday Sunday night so queue for food ordering was pretty long, but only 2 of us so the wait was pretty bearable - only 20 mins or so.

The road up to the site is still pretty pot-holey but I doubt this is the responsibility of the owners as there is another site and a riding school up the lane too, maybe they should all get together and get it resurfaced

All in all a great site. Only criticisms would be a plug socket in the ladies would be handy for own hair dryer/ straighteners. The sinks in the ladies had a LOT of hair caught in the plugs, so not that pleasant, and maybe the owners could look at some sort of recycling like many of the other Tranquil touring park members do

Definitely recommend, and so close to the New Forest.
