We have just returned from a weeks stay at Kelling Heath. Wow - The facilities were clean and tidy and kept this way throughout the day. We never had to wait for a shower which were lovely and hot.
The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Staff were very helpful. Plenty to do on the site and safe for children. Safe for cycling around the campsite The surrounding area had lots to do and see.
So impressed we have booked to go back next year for two weeks and have recommended this site to all friends and family.

Just returned from a week away at Kelling Heath. We had a fantastic time and would recommend this site. The pitches are a good size, all with electric hook up.
The facilities are good, some reviews say there weren't enough but I only had to wait on one occasion for a shower and never queued for the toilets.
The kids loved cycling around the site and enjoyed the freedom. We had an excellent meal at the Forge restaurant. The surrounding area is lovely and would recommend East Runton Beach. £2 for parking all day!
We enjoyed a day on the broads which is only a short distance away. All in all a very good holiday and hopefully will return to this campsite again.

We spent 10 days at Kelling Heath and enjoyed every one of them. We have booked to return this Autumn.
The pitch we had was in a great location, with woodland to one side and a field to the other, the facilities were clean and excellently located, and the 'village square' contained everything we could need, including a very well stocked shop that was open early to late, a great family pub/restaurant with lovely food and an excellent and good value children's menu, a great children's indoor play area, lovely outdoor pool, great pizza place and plenty of outdoor tables around the bandstand.
The request stop on the steam railway was a big hit with our children, as was the lovely wildlife walks to the pond and lake.
The local area had plenty to offer with beautiful sandy beaches, a great indoor pool at Sherringham, and lots of lovely places to eat. We also really enjoyed Bewilderwood.
A fantastic family camp site.

Our family of 5 spent 2 weeks at Kelling Heath, plenty of time to get a full flavour of the site and surrounding area. We had stayed in this part of Norfolk before, but in a club site.
We had a great welcome from the staff and the initial impression of the site was good. We were were in the Red Squirrel area of the site.
The toilet block was a little tired in places and was closed for cleaning at 9 - 9. 30am which resulted in queues in the other smaller part of the block which only has 3 wash hand basins.
There were some great play areas and cycle routes around the park.
The outside pool was clean and well life guarded, but worked on a band system and if you turn up on a busy day you may have to wait. The indoor pool has an additional charge which we felt was too expensive. We took the kids to Sheringham pool which is much better value and has a wave machine!
The only thing that really spoilt our holiday was the amount of noise on site. I guess to be expected on a large site. There seemed to be a lot of music played on site and even though there were doorman at the bar the campsite was not really policed. On the last night a caravan came and pitched next to us at 11. 45pm waking us up! We went home a day early to get some peace!
Overall this site offers some great facilities and the children loved all the music and activities. It was a little to full on for us as seasoned campers and felt this site was more for people who go camping rather than 'campers'.
Back to basics for us next year!

The campsite is highly organised with super facilities. The toilet/shower blocks were always immaculately clean, as were the washing up areas.
The pitches ranged in size - ours was a standard, but was plenty big enough for our 6 man tent and car. The only complaint was that we were under the trees so no sun and our car was covered in bird poo! Yuk! However, there were pitches away from the trees - worth trying to get one if you can!
The terrace bar was good for an evening meal and the den good for the kids - amusements etc and small play area for the younger ones - less than 6 really!
'Wells next to sea' is about 15 minutes away - a fabulous beach with great sand dunes to roll down, a nice cafe and some bungy trampolines which me and the kids had fun on!
Wardens patrol the pitches at night and are very strict on noise! We had to turn down our DVD player and next door got told off for laughing too much and it was only 11. 15! Bit too strict for us, but some people might like this.
Would definitely recommend it overall though - we managed to stay for just 2 nights instead of the full week - phone up and see if they have any gaps.

On first sight we thought that this was going to be too much, we were used to small basic campsites, however, after a day we fell in love with it. Great freedom for kids and indoor pool was handy on rainy day. Would of liked a more enclosed pitch as our tiny tent was too exposed, will make sure have an enclosed area next time. The shower blocks are great and general facilities were very good. Lots to see and do in area, North Norfolk is amazing. This campsite is well worth a stay and Holkham beach is stunning.

This is a fabulous site for camping. We turned up around 3:00pm on a Thursday afternoon without a booking and asked for a 2 night pitch. They only had around 10 pitches left and we were given a list of pitch numbers to check out to see which one we would like. The pitches are all a good size but the option to upgrade to a 100m2 pitch is also available for extra large tents or if you just like a bit more space. I only have a couple of down points the first is that there are quite a few trees above some pitches which I'm slightly weary of in windy or stormy weather. Maybe I'm to much of a worrier! Also all the pitches are fully serviced and we had no electric hook up lead so we felt we were paying for something we did not need. I would have liked the option to only pay for electric if you were going to use it. But I understand this might be hard to police.
The toilet and shower blocks offer every thing we needed. The particular block we used was heated and clean and also had an electric point for my hairdryer and straighteners.
The site offers everything you could need for your stay. It has 2 pools, a gym, pub, restaurant, shop, 2 play parks for the children, bike hire and beautiful walks around the heath and woodland. They also had a local band on the Friday night which complimented the feel and the atmosphere of the park.
They also offer a deal of money off your second and subsequent visits that same year when you pre book your first visit. Which is worth looking into to.
This is a great place for campers, even when it's busy there is plenty of room for everyone and although it's not one of the cheapest places to stay I'm a believer in the saying 'You get what you pay for' and it's worth every penny.
I will definitely be visiting Kelling Heath again very soon.

Have just returned from kelling heath where we stayed in the red squirrel area with our motorhome and pet dog, the pitches were very big, and luckily our area was further away from the open pitching area higher up than can be bit exposed. Having visited kelling heath before but never staying there overnight I did expect a good standard especially in the toilet blocks, this is where it was let down in my opinion. Though money has been spent on refurbishment of the reception and main toilets, it seems that the toilet block on our area has not been updated as yet, though it was adequate I suppose, it was not that clean, the showers were set to one temperature which everyone who used commented on, scalding hot! On our first day a stream from the block appeared running past our pitch and threatening to flood a pitch at the far end of the site, luckily someone notified the office and a team came out to deal with it. The block was then shut and out of use while this was going on.
The alternative block adjacent to us was commented as being much nicer, loads more toilets and showers and cleaner, we had 3 showers between the whole area. The temperatures on the showers was finally sorted as someone must have reported that too.
Though kelling heath is a well designed natural environment I felt that as a dog owner and lover we were treated as though we were second class citizens. Other camp sites do not segregate people with dogs from others and it rarely causes problems, apart from that the facilities in general were good though expensive, we didn't use them.
The only reason we stayed there was to meet up with family who were in a tent so I think we will go back to our usual dog friendly site down the road,

Visited this site in June after reading reviews on here.
We were in squirrels and our tent was pooped on by birds for the 3 days we were there. Due to trees found it a bit damp and chilly in the evenings. Toilet facilities good and plentiful. Our pitch backed onto road which meant lots of passing cars, kids on bikes and walkers.
Didn't use the pool facilities or restaurant so can't comment.
Good location for site seeing local area.
One of the tent fields we spotted was just a huge filed with row upon row of tent in uniform rows
Shop was a bit expensive
Was expensive for a short break. Maybe the sort of place you go in a group rather than hoping to meet people as the layout did not really suit socialising.
Although I love Norfolk, I don't think I would return to this site. Lacked soul for me

Just returned from this site after a 4 day stay with a large group of friends. The site is in a fantastic location with beautiful walks and lots to do. The pitches are clearly marked out and a little regimented even down to the fact they give you a layout as to where yr car, tent and awning should be.
The swimming pool is expensive but they did offer us special discount prices due to the fact that it rained most weekend.
I would recommend this site as the layout, facilities and walks are all very good
