Just spent a weekend camping there (pitch 103) and it was superb.
As there is only lighting in the Village Square and at the toilet block - there is excellent views of the sky.
Also, they are very environmentally aware, with large wild hedges that seperate the pitches around the edges. Unlike some campsites I've been to, which are massive open spaces (and hence windy), Kelling Heath is seperated into smaller areas with which keeps things "cosy".
Very well featured, would definitely return again.
Would recommend popping along to North Walksham and hiring a boat for a couple of hours and the Shire Horse Centre (just up the road to Cromer).

There's not a lot to say that hasn't already been said - so this is just to add my vote that this is a nice, clean, pretty, well looked after family site. It may be large (enormous actually!), but it's been laid out in a way that makes it feel small and cosy.
There's lots to do on site - we did things like archery, looking for bats, bush craft...
There's a bar (two actually!), restaurant and pool in the middle of the site, and while they put on entertainment most evenings in the summer it doesn't disturb because the camping pitches are some way from the centre.
We'd happily recommend this to any family!

Having just returned from a weeks holidy at kelling heath must say how impressed me and my family were. Good sized touring pitches, V.Clean and well equipped Shower / toilet Blocks. My children had a fantastic time, Pond Dipping, Bat walks and loads more. Cycling and Walking tracks Exceeded our expectations. Well stocked shop and plenty of places to eat. A very enjoyable full packed site would recommend.

August 2005 This is the 2nd time we have visited this park, and still enjoyed it. This is a very large camping site set in acres of Heathland, but has individual sections with both tents and caravans on, each having its own toilet block/pot washing facilties, so it never seems over busy. We visited in the 2nd week of the school hoildays, the site was full, but we never felt it was too crowded. The facilities (toilet/showers) are excellent, and cleaned throughly one a day.
This is a great site if you like walking and cycling, both offering great trails. The site offers activites for the children, which thankfully is nothing like Haven sites, they are mainly outdoor activities. ie. kite making, archery, walks to the local Bee Hives, which adults can help with.
Also at the evening they offer a Free guided batwalk, although we didn't see many bats the information was suprisingly interesting. The steam train from Sheringham to Holt is worth a trip.
The site has two pubs, both doing meals one tends to be a little quieter, the other has a small dance floor with a childrens disco for a couple of hours.
The weather could have been better, but it did not spoil our hols, we will be visiting again.

April 2005 Really enjoyed this park. Have been back twice in tent and once in static.
facilities are good, and shop is well stocked, but we visitied in early season, and the shop hours were limited - make sure you check opening times etc.
Also not all facilities such as cycle hire were open.
Site is close enough to Sheringham, Holt, and Cromer to keep everyone happy, and the wildlife is very intersting to watch.
5 stars

August 2004 Was very busy at this time of year, could not get near the swimming pool. Liked the actual site, as the children had plenty of things to do ie; adventure course in wood, fishing, biking, walking and tours in the evening to see the wildlife. Shop was expensive and had to drive to sheringham to get shopping. But would definitely visit this site again.

June 2005 We went to Kelling for a weekend in a group of 11 families and had a great time! The site itself is probably the nearest we've seen to the French sites we've stayed at, with lots of quality facilities and activities but without that Butlins feel!!
The pitches are large but very close together. It didn't matter to us as we were in a big group, but I would have found it a bit claustrophobic had we been on our own (especially if we'd been pitched NEAR to a big group!). Toilets very clean but I could see that things could get very busy if the site was full.
Loads of places for the children to play, including a nice, warm outdoor pool, and lots to do in the area. Holt is small but well worth wandering around (we got the steam train which was quite expensive but great fun), and the local beaches are lovely and sandy. Agree with previous comments that the indoor pool is extortionate.
Our friends paid £10 for a family at the tropical pool complex in Sheringham, and said it was excellent, so go there instead if its raining.

June 2005 We decided that we would have a few days away at Kelling Heath as it came highly recommended by people we knew had previously used the site. We arrived and the booking in procedure was painless. Our pitch was on the edge of the field and sheltered well by trees. It was a good size and looking around this seems to be the case all over. We had ample room for camper, awning and car with room to spare. The pitch did seem a little threadbare though considering it is fairly early season.
Facilities including takeaway, bar and shop are well priced and of good quality as are the toilets etc. They were always fairly clean even though the site was full.
The only down side was the price of the indoor pool for a family, very expensive.
There are walks on the heath and in the woods which are lovely, with playgrounds to keep the kids ammused. The site is also very big, but laid out so that you never feel crowded.
I would recommend a stop here, and would visit again.

March 2005 Stayed for 8 nights over the Easter period, caravan and awning. Agree with other reviews, the facilities are great and plenty of walks/cycle rides around the heath.
Downside was the expense of using the pool. This is not a pay-as-you-use facility, rather you pay a membership fee to join the leisure club. It cost us £48 for 2 adults & 2 kids for 3 days use and all we wanted to do was use the pool (we had promised the kids). So we felt obliged to use it even when the weather was really nice and we wanted to be outside. There is a free outdoor pool, but it wasn't open over Easter.
The other issue was mains electric when it got busy. There had been some problem with the system so they had brought in mobile (diesel) generators as a temporary measure. These were not man enough for the job at peak times sothe supply kept dropping out or under-volting. All due credit to Kelling Heath those, they offered 50% discounts on a future visit to all those who complained.
