This is the second time we've visited Kelling Heath and it is definitely one of our favourite sites. It is busy at times but the facilities are good and the kids love it.
We booked online and were allocated a pitch in the Red Squirrel area that looked like it would be a main thoroughfare for other campers to get to the toilets, so I emailed Kelling Heath asking if we could change to a quieter pitch as our son has Autism and would be likely to find people walking past very unsettling and also, we wouldn't want to risk him disturbing other people. Kelling Heath were fantastic and changed our booking to a pitch at the bottom end of their rally field.
I think part of our allotted area was being encroached by stinging nettles but as it was at the back and side of the pitch it wasn't really a problem. There were only a few other people on the rally field and we had a lovely view across a field towards the trees. There was loads of space in front of the tent for the kids to play without disturbing anyone, yet it was within easy walking distance of the toilets.
The shower block was heated and very clean most of the time. The day we left, there had been heavy rain so the floor got a bit muddy but you expect that in bad weather. Apart from that, there were lots of toilets, lots of showers and plenty hot water whenever you needed it.
The children's play area is nice, but it is in desperate need of something for toddlers. It's great for perhaps 5+ but any younger than that and there's not that much for them. There is an indoor play area in the restaurant though which is good for little ones.
The pizza place is great and we all enjoyed the evening entertainment. It's a bit cheesy but its a nice way to relax outside with a drink and a pizza.
There is an enclosure near the entrance with a parrot (I think it's a Macaw?) and some red squirrels. My youngest demands every weekend to go and see Lara and the squirrels!
We didn't use the indoor pool but did go in the outside pool, even though it was absolutely freezing! There is so much to do here that you don't really need to venture off site if you don't want to. The shop is small yet adequate and the walks are lovely.
The restaurant is nice with an excellent children's menu, they also provide colouring activated and children's entertainment but I may be a bit biased about the restaurant food as they gave me food poisoning, which was not terribly pleasant while camping. I really should have had the burgers like the rest of the family as they looked lovely.
On the day we were supposed to leave, we were concerned about packing up a damp tent as it had rained overnight. We asked at reception if we could book another night so that we could leave the tent up during the day until it was dry. As they weren't busy, they said we could pay an extra £10 and stay as long as we liked that day.
The staff at Kelling Heath are always professional, friendly and extremely helpful. We were very impressed with their attitude, they really can't do enough for you. They didn't have to change our pitch for us, yet they did. It's the little things like that, that will keep us going back.

Fantastic site. They have got everything right. Toilets were spotless and even in the dirty rain it remained clean. There were cleaners in there every 90 mins cleaning up. Excellent. Although the site is huge and not usually what we would book, it has the feel of a small site and the pitches are spacious with plenty of room for kids to play.
The entertainment is very low key and has something for everyone which is great. There are so many lovely walks around the site and if you cant fit your bikes in, you can hire bikes for the day to check out the surrounding areas.
The site shop is good value and has pretty much everything you need and Morrisons is just up the road. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant with great service and food was really good. 2 great parks for the kids which they loved. We took the steam train into Sherringham and some advice for this would be to get your tickets before you go. Overstrand beach is a must.
I would recommend this site to anyone. We are already booked in for next year. Hurry up and book yours, you wont be disappointed.

What a wonderful location for a holiday. Fairly expensive but worth every penny! Out door swimming pool for the kids but we chose to join the indoor facilities which included pool, sauna, steam room and fully equipped gymnasium at a not unreasonable cost. The toilet and shower blocks are first class and very well looked after. The railway between Holt and Sheringham is served with a unique request halt in the grounds of the site. There is a friendly Bar and restaurant as well as pizza bar which serves all kinds of snacks. There are cycle tracks and walks through the woods for all plus children's games and supervised recreation. Altogether a gem in the Norfolk countryside and well worth a visit. Reception staff are extremely helpful as are the groundsmen.

Excellent site. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Although a large site very well spaced and organised. We stayed in the red squirrel area on standard pitch with electric hook up, which easily accommodated our large (5m x 7m) tent and car.
Toilet blocks very clean and coped with number of guests well during high season, only having to wait few minutes for showers at busier times. Also toilet blocks always available as double ended so only close half for cleaning.
Site very quiet at night, ensure you bring torch as website says, (as few lights due to nature aspect of site), don't think I have ever seen so many stars!
Various activities on site making the most of nature.
Weather was lovely and sunny so children enjoyed outdoor pool although a bit cold for mam! Operated band timed sessions during busy time we only had to queue once around teatime earlier visits we were straight in.
Children aged 6, 9 and 13 enjoyed cycling around site, exploring trails and wood areas as well as the two park areas.
Site has been very well thought out.
Only down side was the on site shop prices. Ate at restaurant on first night food very nice but a little expensive for us to do every night!
Visited Cromer festival brilliant events and fireworks. Also experienced steam train to
Sheringham, lovely seaside town.
Would definitely recommend to anyone. We will certainly be returning well worth the 5 hour journey, wish we had booked for 2 weeks not 1!

This site is so well run and managed but didn't feel regimental in any way. Absolute credit to the management. Also I would advise that you take your bikes with you as there is so much to see a do on the site alone.
Recently spent 11 nights here using our own tent. Our pitch was in the red squirrel area and was in a convenient location in regards to toilet/wash block and the village square with the outdoor swimming pool etc in. The pitch was a good size and had good drainage, good job too because we did have some very heavy downpours during our stay.
First impressions we thought we had made a mistake by booking this site because we didn't realise how big it was and we don't generally like large sites, especially during school holidays. BUT even though it is huge you don't feel like it is once you've settled in. It's surprisingly quiet and has a family feel to it.
The toilet/shower blocks were modern and constantly kept clean throughout the day. I only had to wait for a shower for about 10 mins on one morning, so that was impressive considering how large the site is.
The site is kept extremely spotless, but beware it is pitch black at night. There are no lights in the touring fields so you definitely need a torch for your visit to the shower block!
We didn't use all the facilities that were on offer, we did look at the restaurant but found the prices too expensive. We used the shop occasionally but again quite pricey but then that is to be expected.
The outdoor swimming pool was very good, lifeguards on duty all the time. It could be a bit bigger because of the size of the site but to be honest that didn't really affect us until we had a really hot day and you could only stay in the pool for an hour and then had to get out and vacate the premises so that others could use the facility.
The location of the site is excellent, Cromer is about 20 mins down the road and has an excellent Morrisons which do really good value meals in their restaurant if you can't be bothered to cook which we did a couple of times.
Cromer Pier is worth a walk along and if you get the time the Seaside Special in the Theatre is good value. Also Sheringham is a pretty little seaside village and if you can, have a ride on the Poppy Line, well worth the money.
Would we return to Kelling Heath? Yes we would without a doubt. Fantastic site and fabulous atmosphere.

Camped last August with hubbie, two teenagers and a 5yr old. There was something for everyone and it is a large site. Good for bikes and scooters. I liked that there was this little village on site and the teens could walk to it on their own. The main shop was well stocked. I felt that when we ate out here it was a touch expensive though.
It was red hot and we had to queue for the outdoor pool so didn't bother. Our pitch was large and we managed to fit our tent with extension and two cars on it and I liked that each pitch was sectioned off with bushes. There was also some shaded areas nearby.
Our allocated shower block was poor, in need of upgrade, very small and difficult to shower and dry with a child. No hair dryers in ours but found some in another block so not consistent. Would go again but perhaps not in a hurry.

Where to start.
Everything that I was expecting was met and exceeded. This site has so much to offer that the one week I have just finished certainly wasn't enough. Needless to say I will be returning.
Camped on Blue Butterfly - furthest away from the Village Square but this was not a problem.
The plots are excellent (I camped on a standard serviced pitch), the toilet facilities are excellent and they are regularly cleaned. The water is nice and hot and plentiful.
The Village Square is certainly the place to be on an evening, so much to do and we saw some really good local acts - and this is included in the fees paid.
Both the restaurant and the pizza takeaway were sampled and I wholeheartedly recommend both.
We, as a family, took part in the evening Batwalk, the decoupage afternoon and even hired bikes to enable us to follow the 25 Year Anniversary trail around the site. This showed us a lot more than we would normally have seen.
We enjoyed talking to Lara the cockatoo that is currently staying at Kelling and enjoyed many visits to see the Red Squirrels that are part of the breeding programme on site.
We also went off site and visited many local attractions - everything is well within a few miles of Kelling.
Kelling Heath has so much to offer and I urge anyone to sample all that it has to offer - you will not be disappointed.

Just got back from a very sunny week at Kelling Heath. Overall we were very impressed with the site and would definitely return.
We booked onto the fully serviced premium pitch which was huge and surrounded by a hedge on 3 sides. Also included on this pitch were EHU, water, waste and a TV point, although the reception was not brilliant.
The site itself including the toilets and showers was spotless and seemed to be cleaned regularly without the need to close the toilets during the day.
The village square is very nice with live music each night we were there (although be aware that this does not finish until 10:00/10:30 each night). The on site restaurant was excellent and all of the staff were genuinely friendly. We didn't use the indoor swimming pool or gym, but did make use of the outdoor pool which was very well organised and used a band system at busy times.
The surrounding area is lovely with some nice places to visit including the seals at Blakeney and wells.
As we said we will definitely be back.

We have just come back from a lovely few days at Kelling Heath. As a family who likes to tour around and sight see, we did an unusual thing and stayed on site for the whole time we were there as there was so much to do.
Disappointed with the price of the indoor swimming. Luckily the weather was glorious so we used the free outdoor pool! The restaurant was outstanding!
All local produce and very tasty. The children wolfed down their sausage and mash like I had never seen before! Great entertainment in the village square. I was chuffed to catch the Sheringham Shantymen. You pay good money to watch them!
The pitch was right next to the village square, and the main noise came at 5am when Lara the cockatoo woke up! I did feel we were packed in like sardines being there in the summer holidays, but come 11pm, it was really quiet.
We really enjoyed following the waymarked walks around the site. A great place, although a bit on the expensive side, to spend a few days. We will definitely come again.

This is a great family site. It is very big and quite commercial but all facilities are clean and tidy. It was the first site I visited as a campervan newbie and I have been to a few others since. There are plenty of toilets dotted around the camp, so no worries with queuing. The pitch sizes are ample. The hookups are close to your unit. Those with dogs are generally placed on the red squirrel field which is nearest the the huge Heath area, which is fantastic for dog walking. You can also walk to Holt, following the rail tracks. There is plenty available for entertainment. A large bar and patio area, which is great if you want to watch your kids being entertained by the child entertainer in the main square. There are also places to get takeaway food, if you can't be bothered to get your BBQ out. If you don't want to 'camp' then there are static caravans and lodges available to rent which have their own little garden area. Would recommend to families.
