A very nice site with stunning views.
There is a central village with shop, pub, outdoor pool, pizza/cafe, outdoor table tennis and boule pitch.
There is an indoor pool with steam room and a gym but this has to be paid extra for - the pool is very nice though and there are adult only times for peaceful swimming.
Some nights there is live music in the bandstand, generally this is not too loud and I quite liked most of it.
There are three toilet/shower blocks each with washing up sinks. The hot water for the sinks is a bit slow and sometimes erratic. The showers and toilets were regularly cleaned and always worked for me.
The pitches are large and not too cramped together. Water is not normally too far away.
The site is not too noisy and I did see security walking about at night enforcing the rules - mostly the no open campfires rule.
The North Norfolk Railway runs past the site and they like sounding their whistle - which takes a bit of getting used to but it is only once and hour or so.

This campsite has been reviewed to death so I will try to be quite brief! Our party was 2 adults, 3 kids (8, 9&10) and a dog, and we loved it. What beautiful setting. Miles of walks and bike rides, maps available for set routes if you want them. Wash facilities all good (we were red squirrel area), we never queued though neither did we use them at peak time on a packed half term week.
The site is huge but well laid out so it doesn't seem it. You really do need to check you map well as even by day 4 we found play areas we hadn't seen before.
The 'village square' is a nice place for the evening. Outside tables, bands in the bandstand, free table tennis and boules (take you own bats/balls or buy from shop)
Restaurant was always packed and seemed short staffed. As we had our dog we had to sit in the quieter pub area- not a problem! Food was fair, prices quite high.
You could easily stay on site all day, biking, trim-trails, outside pool (inside one too expensive!) but a trip out on the steam train was great fun. We travelled to Sherringham which was great. Shops to poke about in, dog friendly beach, don't miss The Funky Mackerel Cafe.
We loved it. The size of the site means it just lacked a little of the warmth and friendliness some places have, but if you can provide that for yourselves and want somewhere beautiful to take kids (and dogs) with plenty to do, then I'd really recommend it.
One big complaint - the ten o'clock check out. Seriously, what big family can be off pitch for that time?

I visited this site for the first time over the February half term and then returned a few weeks later for a week at Easter. I enjoyed the walks directly from and around the site. I also enjoyed catching the steam train from the site to Sheringham; I also went to Holt on the railway but we also needed to catch a bus to take us to the town centre.
Using the swimming pool can be expensive but it did have a rather luxurious feel about it, as it was never busy. There was also a steam room, sauna and spa tub as well as a fitness centre available for use within the price but I didn't use these.
The shop was handy and interesting to browse around and the staff in reception were friendly and helpful. We didn't use the restaurant or bars.
In Weybourne we visited the pub, as it was dog friendly, and enjoyed the food there.
We also parked in the sea front carpark at Weybourne and walked across the cliffs to Sheringham; this was a lovely walk and after visiting a tearoom in Sheringham we caught the bus back to Weybourne.
A not to be missed trip was a visit to Blakney Point to see the seals, This we did during Easter after a recommendation from a friend.
Whilst in the area we also visited the Shire Horse Sanctuary, another dog friendly attraction, which we enjoyed.
The Blue Room in Cromer also offered a dog friendly environment and excellent food.
As these were my puppy's first two camping holidays finding dog-friendly places was an important part of the holiday.
We enjoyed exploring an area that we hadn't been to much before and Kelling Heath offered an excellent base for this.

We visited during the Big Camp weekend and the weather was mostly bright, but chilly.
We had adjoining pitches with family and I can recommend the space on 402 and 403. Reception were very keen to instruct on pitching protocol.
The facilities are good, water temperature and pressure were fine. The shower heads are fixed, but this didn't cause problems for myself at 5'10' or my SIL, a little shorter. The cubicles are plenty big enough and there are fixed stools and plenty of hooks.
The Village Store on site had everything we had forgotten, including a choice of filter coffee!
The adventure playground was enjoyed by both my nephew 12 and niece 5. The bar was pleasant with a choice of real ale, we sat out during the day (brrrrrr), but sat inside one evening. We did not eat in the restaurant as you cannot eat in any area with a dog. We had takeaway pizzas instead, which were tasty.
Sheringham is very close by, with cash points, pubs, shops and restaurants. My parents live here and I can recommend the Windham Arms for excellent real ale and superb Greek specials. There is no Morrisons in Sheringham, the nearest full supermarket is in Cromer.

I have stayed at Kelling Heath three times so far (Easter 2011, June 2012 and April 2013) and enjoyed it every time. On the first visit I did not like the pitch I was given, and it was changed without any problems. As I have no school-age children I travel outside the main holiday season and can, therefore, not comment on any facilities geared to children. Contrary to other reviewers I did not find the shop excessively expensive and bought a number of camping accessories that I needed.
Compared to a recent experience on a campsite in the Northwest the size of the pitches on Kelling Heath, at least in the Dragonfly area (yellow) area are huge. The pitches are clean, as are the toilet and washing facilities. Unfortunately some campers are less than clean and leave long hairs in the wash basins, toilet paper on the floors etc. Which is hardly the fault of K. H. Management.
I am looking forward to another visit in September.

We braved the freezing temperatures and stayed here for 6 nights over Easter.
It is a beautiful site, very well laid out with spacious pitches. Plenty to do and see on site with some great walks around the site and woods.
They use a speedy check in service during busy times which is a great idea, no queueing up to sort the paperwork out. You are directed to your pitch, given a little info pack and asked to pop up to reception when you're settled to book in properly. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We didn't use the bars and resteraunts on site but they looked nice and seemed reasonably priced. The shop on site was very well stocked, a little bit expensive but not terribly so. The swimming pool on site was absurdly expensive so we opted to go to the swimming pool on the outskirts of Sheringham, much better value for money and as they had a wave machine and water slide the kids loved it.
The facitlities in the Red Squirrel area are poor.
Although cleaned regularly they are unheated which was very noticeable given the weather.
The showers are hot and free, but the shower heads are around 5'6' high and can't be adjusted, not great when you're 5'11'. The cubicle are also very small, to the point where there wasn't room to put my socks on after a shower.
The washing up sinks have been positioned so that the prevailing wind is directly in your back, with no protection, yet the less used laundry sinks are on the sheltered side.
The hot water temperature is barely luke warm on the sinks, and the pressure is very poor. It takes at least 5 minutes to fill a sink. It was so bad I took to driving up to the main block in the middle of the site and using those.
In summary it is a great site, well placed with much to see and do in the surrounding area. However they do need to re-evaluate themselves a little, particularly their facilities.

Spent a week here over A very cold Easter. We arrived to a very empty site, staff at Reception very welcoming and helpful. Arrived in the area of our pitch ( Red Squirrel) to be greeted by anther member of staff who showed us where our pitch was and pointed out the showers/ toilet blocks and mentioned which were heated and which not!
I would have thought that during the freezing temps and daily snow that all of the blocks would have been heated.
Pitch was a very generous size, however I was surprised at the condition of the pitch being so early in the season, the space for the awning was bare earth, anyhow it was dry so that was a bonus!
The site is big and split into three touring areas.
The cycle rides are great and walking wonderful.
By Good Friday the site was very busy. Although it was stated that NO ball games were to be held on the touring pitches -and the fact that there was a large open space a short walk away- footballs flying around were a regular feature, as were loud groups of campers shouting into the early hours, we were woken on numerous occasions as late as 0300, thankfully our child slept through it. Another pastime was walking -to take a shortcut to the facilities - across our pitch and between our awning and our car.
I cant comment on the restaurant or swimming pool as we didn't use these. The shop is very well stocked, however a short drive along the road towards Cromer brings you to two supermarkets.
In short a lovely setting, but not for us.

Stayed at Kelling Heath in the October (very cold at times)half term, checked in at the well presented reception and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Got given a map of the site and where our pitch was, which we were very happy with as other pitches had a fair bit of surface water on them. The toilet blocks were always very clean, my only criticism is that they were always freezing, making you stop under the lovely hot shower water longer.
The site is in a beautiful location situated in the woods, with some lovely walks or even bike rides, (bike hire available)
There are 2 bars to choose from, the Forge if you want a more peaceful evening away from the hustle and bustle of the restaurant and entertainment area,
The Restaurant area looked at times to be busy, but we thought it was very expensive, as being the 5 of us, we would be looking at around £65. 00 just for food.
The village square which is located near the 2 bars and reception areas plays an important role as it hosts events through out the day, whilst we were there, there was pumpkin carving for the children and a home produce market was being held. In the summer, with this fantastic outdoor area which holds entertainment and has lots of seating it would be a great place to socialise.
My only disappointment is regarding the swimming pool, which did look lovely, but you can only book daily passes which seemed a little unfair as my 3 children wanted to go for a quick swim, but this would have costed me in the region of £37. 00
We will definitely return in the future.

We were situated on a fully serviced pitch on the yellow dragonfly area. Good large pitch but very waterlogged and showing signs of a lot of use with bare soil in the awning area. Kelling is a great site at any time of year, and the toilet block was well cared for and clean. We were surprised at the number of people there as it was very cold at night ! The shop is well stocked and open from 8 in the morning until 9 at night which we thought was excellent. We did not use the bars or restaurants but they looked very reasonably priced. With the pretty fishing town of Sheringham, with great shopping and fresh seafood, just a short drive away, Kelling is a great site. As has been said earlier, take a torch as there is little lighting on the site, they have even removed the lights from the hook up columns ! If it has been raining take your wellies !

We stayed here for a week in August and it was quite wet at times.
The site itself is set in beautiful surroundings and we enjoyed walks in the woods.
We stayed on the blue field and was a bit disappointed by the pitch which was under a tree and quite difficult to get the pegs in and out in some places. They were quite spacious though. I'm not sure that the drainage was good as there was large puddles and the pitch was soggy in places. It didn't cause too many problems for me but having spoke to someone who had already been there for a week in terrible rain he was not impressed and had already had to ask for an alternative pitch.
There is plenty to do on site and in the area I agree with the other reviews to take your bike if you can but the bike hire is very expensive I thought so we didn't bother.
We didn't eat on site other than ordering pizza one night wchich was reasonably priced and very tasty and only bought basics at the shop so cant really commnet on whether it was expensive. We did not really enjoy the entertainment as it was not to our taste but having walked past a couple of bands they sounded good.
The site was clean and the toilets were well maintained I had no problems using the facilities and there were usually free showers. It is quiet at night which suits us as we like to get the children in bed and it is also very dark so don't forget the torches!
The playgrounds are brilliant. Our kids love playgrounds so we hve to make sure that they are close and on site. There are two that are child friendly and well maintained definitely a hit with our children. The one closest to our pitch had a sports field as well that we played football on.
The surrounding area is lovely and we enjoyed driving along the coast to the different towns, there is a Morrisons in Sheringham that is eay to find. The beaches are pleasant but be aware that they are quite rocky in places. We were aware that the indoor pool on site was quite expensive but there is a brilliant pool in Sherringham with a wave machine and a slide that is much cheaper and brilliant fun.
We would stay here again as it feels very relaxed and we had an enjoyble week.
