Great site,
Fantastic shower block,
Great shop sells everything at good prices and its open at good times too.
Lovely walks from site.
Kids enjoyed playing in the beck.
Enjoyed our stay, even though we left a day early due to bad weather.
Will return, as it is close to where we live.
Prefer this site to the ones in Kesick.

We have just come back from an excellent two day two nights stay at braithwaite bridges camp site!
We arrived for the bank holiday weekend on Friday and I must say was surprised at the amount of space we had to choose from to pitch.
Excellent shower and washroom facilities (always hot water at anytime of the day), always toilet roll, hand dryers, one electricity point for use of hair dryers or straighteners!
Only one downside which was the washing up area which is no fault of the campsite which was that it was untidy, food left everywhere which was left by fellow campers(should be ashamed of themselves)
We had to pay at the main campsite which is scotgate park just two minutes down the road and I found the man behind the counter very grumpy and not very helpful
P.S I must say the site caretakers were helpful because our friends broke down on the way there and he offered a tow rope to sort ourselves out which was great!

This was our third choice campsite, we ended up going because our others were full! In the end I can't imagine another site suiting us any better than this.
The Good - Facilities are the best you will see. In the gents there were 6 huge showers, under floor heating, around a dozen toilets and wash hand basins and around 10 urinals. Even at busiest time in the morning / evening there was no waiting, and all spotlessly clean. Excellent pot washing room, laundry room, small shop on site selling camping supplies, newspapers, tobacco, some food (eggs, milk, bread, biccies etc) and alcohol. Also a licensed cafe (didn't use it so can't comment on food quality).
At £28 per night between 4 people in 2 mid sized tents with a car you can't go wrong with the price either. Some top walks from the campsite too (we got most of the way up Grisedale Pike and had a look round the old mine up there).
The Bad - Tent pitches were generally good, but there were some patches of bare mud where presumably previous campers had had their doorways. Also a couple of inches below the surface our pegs seemed to hit rock a few times. The campsite filled up quickly and one thing that might put some off is there seemed to be no minimum gap between tents, which suited us as it created a relaxed atmosphere, but on the other hand we had a very loud 'snorer' near us which actually kept me awake.
All in all, I would recommend this site whatever type of camper you are (they had groups, dogs, kids etc etc).

Our group supervisors stayed at this site on the last day of at Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition, while the participants stayed on another site in the village on a farm.
We had intended to stay at the main site, which is Scotgate Holiday Park - having heard about the great facilities available (always appreciated after a week of roughing it on the hill with 11 young people!)
The site is basically a large field with a gravel track around the edges and across the middle, with a basic toilet / facilities block at the entrance end. It is mostly unstaffed although a member of staff did come by to check it out a few times a day.
There are loads of toilets (12 in the ladies!) and 3 showers in the ladies, with large cubicles (but be careful as the water drains away from the cubicles over the floor, so anything you put on the floor will get a soaking - but there are adequate hooks available and a bench!), however we had to run all three showers for some time before even slightly warm water came through which never got 'really' hot but was appreciated anyway after a hard day on the hill! Also the lights are on a timer, we found it quite dark during the early evening before the lights came on, so useful to have a torch.
There is a pot-wash area which is nicely sheltered, however the taps in there are the push-to-operate type ones and spray water out at a rate of knots which was somewhat surprising the first time we used them!
The site was very clean and tidy although the fences have all got barbed wire on the top edge, so I would be careful with young kids or when playing with tent flysheets in windy conditions (it seems somewhat unnecessary, not sure why they have it there).
Plenty of space was available however some areas were really quite boggy (it had rained most of the week though, so you'd be hard pressed to find a site without boggy areas!)
We didn't venture into Braithwaite as we cooked on the site, however the site is well placed being just off the A66, with easy connections to Keswick / Penrith and so forth.

Just seen the new year in on this site and must say it was very enjoyable.
The site is in a great position just off the a66 and set in spectacular surroundings as you would expect in this part of the country.
The site has a shop and cafe but unfortunately they were closed for the winter period so I cannot say much about them, but they did look very good.
The village has a couple of great pubs and both do good reasonably priced food and are less than 5 Min's walk away.
The new toilet facilities have just been completed and are of the highest standard, and spotlessly clean, but lack coat hook on the toilet doors (the owner said these would be on shortly) also my wife said the hot water in the ladies showers kept going from lukewarm to cold, but in the men's it was always very hot??? strange.
The site is also at present adding additional hard standing pitches with hook up.
The only negative point is you can't pre book, which is a shame.
Well worth a visit and we will use again.

Just got back from a weekend at this site! Weather was OK, but in November OK is good enough. The ground was sodden but this was to be expected! It is nice, however, to find a site open at this time of year! Highlight of the site at this time of year has to be the shower block - the shower 'cubicle' itself was bigger than my bathroom at home! Also kept spotlessly clean.
If I had a very minor gripe - no coat hooks on the back of toilet cubicle doors! However, that was it! Will be returning when the weather picks up a bit!
Location is superb, close enough to Keswick, but not too close. Within easy distance of many hills and 2 good pubs for that all important post walk pint!

What a shower and toilet block - must be one of the best in the country - stone floors and marble basins - fantastic - and so much space.
When we were there we had no problem with overcrowding - we were the only ones daft enough to be camping in the torrential rain! On site cafe was ideal for breakfast - and provided some welcome warmth.
Lovely pub within easy walking distance serving good food and Jennings Sneck Lifter - bit like Marmite you either love it or hate it!
Definitely one we will return to when next in The Lakes

Not the first time we have been to this site.
Toilets and showers are excellent very modern and well looked after. Ground is well drained even in the heaviest of rain, the site is well condensed and lacks ground for play area for the children. Tents can be a little bit too close to each other which is annoying when kids are running and tripping over your guide ropes. Shop on site has excellent opening and closing times and staff are always friendly, it is sensibly priced.
The only down side of this site is that you cannot book in advance if you have a tent, we have been on quite a few occasions and have been turned away, which is disappointing.
This may sound like a bad review however this is one of our favourite sites, the views are fantastic and plenty of walks.
There are 2 pubs within walking distance Black Bull is not dog friendly but serves good food.
The Coledale Inn welcomes dogs and also has great food and helpful staff.

Fantastic site, flat and well drained. The shower block is one of the best we have ever used, but cannot understand why the do not have any soap dispensers in the block. Tents are pitched anywhere so you have to be careful that you do not find your car surrounded after a day out walking. Owners very friendly and helpful. The onsite cafe is really good but don't know why they shut at 5:00pm especially on a Friday night when everyone is arriving late and may not want to cook.

What a brilliant site. Very well situated with Keswick only 2 miles away and an easy footpath and country lane walk away for the tourists and Skiddaw, Barrowdale and Newland valley within easy reach for the serious walkers.
The weather was poor with very heavy rain at times and it rained pretty constantly all week that we were there. The site coped very well with this and the ground managed to drain pretty well until the Friday evening when the rain was beating down for hours just as the weekend arrivals were pitching causing the first signs of tyre marks and mud. However by the Sunday the ground had started to dry and by Monday the ground had recovered.
This was only our second camping holiday ( the last being 10 years ago ) so we were wanting a site with good facilities and we found it.
The site is on flat ground which makes it ideal for those with large tents (We have an Outwell Montana 6). The camp shop is well stocked and opens early and closes late. The camp cafe is very reasonable, we only used it a couple of times for a sandwich after our walks and if anything was under utilised by the rest of the campers.
The toilet block is new and very well equipped.
Shaver points and hair dryers available. The showers are free and the water was always hot but no temperature control on the showers. The toilets have toilet paper provided. If anything the toilet block makes the site but my only critisism was with the users themselves who didn't respect the modern facilities by leaving discarded plasters on the shower floors or leaving the sinks dirty after they had used them. Maybe this could have been overcome by having the toilets cleaned twice a day after the morning and evening rush or by providing cloths for wiping the sinks and surfaces down and a bin.
The pot wash room suffered from the same unclean campers who again would not wipe the surfaces down after use. This is a shame as none of this critisism can be levelled at the owners who have provided excellant facilities.
The 10.30 quiet rule was fairly well self regulated and we had no difficulty in getting off to sleep but this may have had more to do with being wacked out after a days walking. Those who chose to stay up late did keep the noise down.
In all will we come again - ' definately ' and will we recommend this site ' Definately '.
This site made our holiday and has given us the confidence to camp more often.
