Just spent four nights here. One of the best sites we have been on. You have your own post with hook up and water, staff very pleasant, lovely walks and best shower block ever. Pitches for awnings are massive. Keswick only mile and a half away. You wont be disappointed

Larger site just on the outskirts of Keswick which you can walk to within the hour. Most pitches have their own water tap and grey waste BUT not all, so worth asking for one as it's the same price. Dog friendly site and everyone I saw kept their dogs on a lead and cleaned up. Short walk (uphill) to the Coledale Inn which were very friendly and the food was great - huge portions and tasty. Also dog friendly. The other pub allows dogs but not whilst food is being served so unless you want to eat outside in the wind and rain. ! Shower block was huge and the warmest I have been in. Didn't see anyone in shower and toilet blocks cleaning for the whole 5 days I was there and I was glad the site wasn't super busy as I dread to think what they would look like! The welcome could have been friendlier, toilets cleaner and found it a little pricey as they charge for each dog. Probably would look around for another site if I was staying again.

Great base for the north Lakes - walking, cycling (Whinlatter) etc. Toilet block would put some 5 star hotels to shame. Great shop & cafe (not open all year - we enjoyed it in September but don't know what month it closes). Can be crowded in summer & they don't seem to enforce any distance between tent rules.

Just returned from a great bank holiday weekend at Bridges. There had obviously been lots of rain prior to our arrival and a few pitches had been roped off. Managed to find a dry spot and the site soon filled up but only because of the temporary restricted pitches. Toilet, showers and washing up facilities were spotless and the site was very peaceful. I have stayed before and will definitely go back. There are no playgrounds for kids or clubs for adults so if that's what you need its not for you.

Lovely site for grown ups who like views/walks/peace. No playpark for children but they still looked quite happy to be there by the stream or on bikes. Fantastic shower blocks and an on site shop/café too. Doggy friendly pubs on the doorstep and Kewsick either a very enjoyable hours walk or a five min bus ride away. Tents, Touring Caravans and Statics here and the Holiday chalets and Lodge's look Fab!

Stayed for a weekend of mountain-biking in July. The main site was packed so the large and empty fields were a welcome sight.
Site is spacious, flat and relatively sheltered by trees. Keswick 2 miles, Portinscale and Braithwaite approx. 1 mile and therefore choice of 4 local pubs. Bus stops close to the site or a taxi to / from Keswick will cost about £5. Electric hook-ups and hard-standing are now available for about 5 units.
Toilets / showers are housed in one block (3 push-button type each in mens' and womens')and are clean and perfectly serviceable.
Depending on wind direction you might get some road noise form the A66 but nothing significant.
Despite extremely heavy rain most of the the site drained well. Our stay was spoiled by a group of 5 middle-aged men, who should have know better arrived (two campervans and 1 tent)for Saturday night and pitched about 20 yards from us. After making a campfire they then proceeded to make noise (music with accompanying strobe lighting - yes, really!) until the passed out at 1am. There's no point having a 10 o'clock noise curfew if it is ignored or unenforced.
Mobile and data reception, free wifi (allegedly!) if you're bothered.
At £17. 50 for two people and a camper or tent and this price rising to £21 in mid-summer - it's pricey for a field with toilets and showers!

We spent 3 nights here with our 2 grandchildren. Reception was very grumpy and after a long wait we were showed to our pitch.
The site is very well kept and pretty much immaculate. The facilities were also spotless. My wife and kids had lovely hot showers but when I went the water was lukewarm at best.
We were charged extra for the kids but there were no facilities for children. An expensive short break that was OK but not the best. We will try another site on our next visit to the lakes.

Spent the week before Easter here, unfortunately, the weather was very wintery. The site has excellent views of the surrounding hills/mountains.
The site is laid out nicely with a separate area for the static vans/lodges and the touring pitches. The grass pitches did not have any EHU points, but the hardstanding ones did. Parts of the grass became waterlogged with the excessive rain/sleet/hail/snow we had.
Toilets/Showers were excellent and modern- always warm and clean and the showers a good temperature, forceful and spacious. On one night tent campers had to sleep in there due to the gale force winds affecting their tents.
Shop on site had a good range of groceries and camping supplies. Easy access for towing and the helpful site staff placed caravan on pitch for us - it would have been a bit tight reversing it on, but was possible.
Has recycling facilities, but wasn't well signposted. Did not use pot wash and not sure if there was a laundry with drying facilities. Neither did I see any child playground/play areas - e. G. Space for football game - whilst there was grass space on the touring side, this was for pitching tents. A large grass pace was on the static field, but not sure if ball games would be allowed there.
Free wifi, was reliable, but as expected it slowed down somewhat when the site filled up.
We visited the Royal Oak nearby, good beers. Food was OK, but a bit pricy.

Have just spent 5 nights here and I must say it's a great site if a little pricey. Situated at the head of the valley in Braithwate and only 2 miles from Keswick and 500 meters from the Royal Oak, we found it ideally located. The main A66 is only a hundred meters away though you wouldn't know it.
The pitches were spacious hard standings with electric, water and grey waste. The centre of the site is basic grass pitches. The toilets and shower facilities are excellent with the luxury of underfloor heating and copious amounts of hot water, just what is needed after a hard day on the fells. A laundry room, pot wash and disposal point complete the facilities block. The site benefits from free wifi though the signal can be a bit poor in places.
The staff were friendly and welcoming and we're happy to answer any questions either site or locality related.
Thoroughly pleasant stay and I will not hesitate tore turn for another visit.
