What a lovely friendly site. On driving up the M6 heaving snow hit and we had to stay at a service station overnight and allow the bad weather to pass. The campsite owner was so helpful with us arriving a day late and remained helpful and friendly all week. The site is in a beautiful position with walks onto the hills straight from the site. We were given a pitch close to the toilet block which was always clean and warm - very important in March. I will be back

We have used this site for caravanning for many years now, and we never fail to enjoy this site, it has magnificent views/ walks, with bus stops just outside the camp. In the village, there are friendly pubs and shop that sell tasty homemade pasties/pies etc. Toilets and facilities are brill! and cope well even when the camp is ultra busy.
Toilet/ shower block always nice and warm with underfloor heating.
Staff we have always found to be friendly and very helpful.
With a couple of nice walks from camp to keswick town we would recommend this site, no problem!

Fantastic site, excellent location. The showers/toilets are always spotless even at height of season.
All pitches are flat and most fully serviced with water/drainage and tv point. Free wi-fi which works all over the site.
Only approx 40min walk into Keswick and plenty of walks from the site.
Fully recommended.

This is a busy site as you would expect in some of the prime walking areas of the Lake District. The great thing about this site is that you can do most of the classic walks in the area (Cats Bells, Skiddaw, Grisdale Pike etc. Straight from your caravan (or tent door). Although as mentioned the site was busy especially at the weekends (we were there 8 nights) the facilities were plentiful, modern and very clean. There is a well-stocked shop and café on site and some great pubs just a stroll away all serving food. We dined at the Middle Ruddings, a pub / hotel serving some great real ales, the food and beer were very good and both reasonably priced. All the caravan pitches were large and on flat hard standings, we had our own grey water disposal and a tap shared between 2 vans. For saying it was busy the site was reasonably quiet at night (probably because everyone was tired out after hiking). A real bonus when we came to leave on the Sunday (11:00 check out) we were allowed to park our caravan and car on the grass (off pitch) for as long as we wanted at no extra charge. This meant we had time for another long hike before departing at 4:30, wish all sites were as flexible as this. We would have no hesitation about returning here for another holiday.

Just got back from a 3 night stay at Braithwaite Bridges campsite, nice site for walkers, lovely surroundings including a great view of Skiddaw. Toilets, showers and washing up room all clean and functional.
Keswick just up the road, dog friendly and nice walks close by
Would use again for short breaks.
Some of the ground is quite stoney just below the grass, so the flimsy pegs most manufacturers provide with tents may fail here.

Used this site as a stop over en-route to Scotland, shower block facility was good and clean, wasn't too many people camping when we were there, probably about 20 tents in total with a number of caravan's and campers pitched around the perimeter.
Small shop on site which stocked a bit of food and other essentials you might need to hand, price's reasonable.
A handy base for those planning to walk or cycle in the area, 5-10mins drive into Keswick itself which has plenty of gear shops like you see in these destinations popular with tourists getting into the countryside.
A fairly modern site, very planned and organised unlike some other sites we have stayed at where trees break up the views offering a bit more privacy.
The pitch was relatively flat although the site is on the whole on a slight incline, no problems getting pegs into the ground, not the best grass I've pitched on, but the site in general gave me a feeling of commercialization and organisation like you would get in a new town or some housing estates where the planners have not aspired to much. Hedges and plants were well trimmed but something was missing like a sense of identity or character like you can experience at other sites. Maybe it was because on a B road not far from the main road into Keswick, but I feel the site is missing a trick, maybe it needs to be less open plan if you don't like that feeling of being watched over by the caravans around the perimeter.

Great location but very disappointed with the state of the shower block. Filthy. Very disappointed as friends had mentioned how clean they normally are.
As a result didn't use the cafe facilities.
Good walk to Keswick and bus station right outside for further afield visits.

Wonderful site. Toilets great. Cleanliness and service great. Was allowed to pull on the grass while we nipped over to coniston in the car which helped a lot as you have to be off for 11 am. We will definitely be back

Well provided with a shop, cafe and good essential facilities, and well placed in the N Lakes, this site is justifiably popular. Also, the staff know what keeps their customers coming back, and the rowdies are not tolerated here: we saw some 24 hour party people politely but firmly moved on - so we stayed and we have this as a site we would definitely recommend.
By the way, its a short walk to the Coledale Inn which is very reliable for food.

Stayed here for a week at the beginning of July. We chose this time as it is out of school holidays and expected it be be like the website said. Peaceful with no groups. It couldn't have been further from the description!
The noise from the A66 was constant. We expected some noise but it continued through the night.
We lost count of the number of children and teenagers on the site brought there by schools for end of term holidays etc. It is possible schools use this site as there is no one there to stop the noise etc we had to put up with. We weren't informed the site would be over run by children when we booked. Had we known we wouldn't have gone there. We wanted peace and quiet which we didn't get.
There is no one on the site overseeing the running of the place or the security.
People can come and go on and off the site as they wish. We saw several people driving in off the road looking round before leaving again.
The toilet block wasn't cleaned for 2 days when we arrived. The bins were over flowing and the sinks dirty.
Someone had chosen to change their babys nappy on the only flat surface in the amenities which just happened to be the draining board in the washing up area. There was a filthy nappy and baby wipes left on the top of the overflowing bin for 2 days.
The toilets and showers were then semi cleaned for 3 days before being left again. One of the showers in the ladys toilets had orange shower wash squirted all over the tiles. This was there for the full week even though the cleaner was seen mopping the showers out.
There is no emergency telephone or any way of contacting someone if help is needed. The mobile signal is non existant.
This is the most expensive site I've ever stayed at and I can honetly say the worst. Definately not worth £22. 50 per night we paid and that was without electricity. We did ask for this but was told not for tents. However we pitched up next to 4 empty sockets which were never used for the whole week.
We definitely won't be returning to this campsit and wouldn't recommend it to other campers.
