This is, it must be said, a very good Site. Quite the swankiest, warmest toilet block we've ever used, there is laminate everywhere.
An excellent location at the foot of Whinlatter with easy access to all of walking routes, buses and the main road. On top of that, the usual excellent C &CC staff, even in the wettest of weather.
As a late booking, or maybe they knew what the weather was going to be like, we got the jumbo hardstanding serviced pitch. Even in the heavy rain, the pitch stayed in reasonable condition. We had a glorious view of Skiddaw, only spoilt by the waste compound.
The pitch might work better for caravans and other Motorhomes but we couldn't use the grey water drain or fresh water tap as they were inaccessible for us.
The only gripe was a common one, could the many dog owners ALL clean up after their pets. It's not fun to have to clean dog s*** from flooring when the owner can't be bothered to do it themselves. It only takes one.

Great site, great location.
Excellent facilities as you would expect from a CCC site, great village location.
Minor downside of the constant drone from the A66 but not too bad.
Just a shame about our fellow visitors. Unfortunately we were pitched close the the main facilities block. Because there was no fence or hedge to separate the rows of pitches, most people thought it was acceptable to walk straight through our pitch, navigating tables and chairs whilst we ate, or between car and 'van inches from the windows.
Still, it saved the lazy so-and-sos' an extra 10 or 15m walk. No respect.

We have stayed here before, and as usual it was lovely. The site is clean and well run.
There are frequent buses outside the site to various places.
The Coledale inn is the local dog friendly pub /hotel which does good food.
There is also a shop nearby which is well stocked with provisions, newspapers and so on.

A delightful site with superb facilities in a good location within the pretty village of Braithwaite.
There is no shop on site but the village shop is well stocked and there is a lovely café across the road. The bus stop is a couple of minutes walk away with regular buses to Keswick offering lots of tours of the Lake District.
The site is spotless and very well maintained. The shower block is 5☆, there is an excellent family room with baby bath and there's even a stainless steel " dog bath" area!
Staff are helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this site.
