This was our first visit to the site and we were very impressed. Extremely well stocked shop which was reasonably priced. Very helpful and friendly staff, clean showerblock and washing up area - both with lovely hot water and you get a good 5 minutes for your 30p in the showers.
We stayed on a pitch that had just been re-turfed. It was very flat and coped with the rain, sleet and snow without getting too waterlogged and it was only a short walk to the shop and showers etc.
Lovely woods to walk in along the river. Plenty of wildlife on the site attracted to the fishing pond including frogs and ducks.
A highly recommended site that we look forward to re-visiting.

Went to Holme Valley for the 1st time on a 'working holiday'. I took a young person who has never camped before, and who is in the care system. It was a bit nerve racking as I was unsure how she would respond to being on holiday without any noise, funfair, or arcades, however she loved it!. The young lady in the shop was SO friendly and helpful, as was everyone. There are some beautiful walks, and plenty of space to sit and have a bit of peace.I can't agree with some of the reviews that critisise the site, I can't think of one negative comment to make, let's face it, how many camp sites are there where you can order a take-away?!
I will be there next weekend with my grandchildren for my last camp of the season, I think.

Just got back from our first nights camping experience. The site was more than I'd expected, good clean toilet and shower block, well stocked shop with very polite young staff. We were situated in a quieter part of the camp site, in a small area near a stream which was excellent apart from a few insects. All in all we had a very relaxed weekend In a very picturesque and clean camp site. Well worth 10 pounds per night. Excellent value Thanks.

We called for one night, What a gem. We rang the day before to book and a good job as we got the last pitch. We got there at noon, the pitches are first come first served so as we were the first to arrive that day we had a choice of three. We picked the one next to the pond fantastic view. The shop was cheap and the toilets clean the site managers were very helpful we can't wait to go back.

Wet weather did not help but be aware acces to site is narrow for any large units. Pitch we were provided with was nice for the view but just a bit of what I would describe as spare land. Toilets and showers ok as long as you remember to purchase token and remember instructions. Dirty caravans around the site spoil it and made it very depressing.

We have stayed at this site twice this year and once last year with our 9 year old son. We have never had any problems at all each time we have stayed. The site is in a lovely area with a shallow river running along the bottom of the site and a small fishing/duck lake in the middle. We had a day fishing and there are plenty of fish in the lake although I didn't have much luck! The ducks are very friendly and will quite happily wander into the caravan if the door is open (or, as I suspect, encouraged!). The owners of this site are very friendly and helpful and the shop is very good. Showers and toilets are very clean and heated. A short 5 min walk through the trees takes you to a couple of lovely pubs which serve food and have lovely beer gardens. There is also an indian take away accross from the pub which was very good after a few beers! All in all a very good site would reccommend it to anyone.

As a last minute one-nighter we were happy with the mere £10.00 charged for our large tent. When we arrived we had a few problems finding a large enough pitch and when we did we didn't have enough space for the guy's, but we managed to (somehow) squeeze in. The BBC had hired half the lower field and their geberators and 5am arrivals were a bit of a pain, but this is no doubt a transient issue. The site has two fields. The top field is on a slope, but within easy reach of the shop and toilet/shower block. The bottom field is a bit of more of a trek away, but has a lovely (shallow) river running parallel to the site and is flatter. The advantages are that: the on-site shop is very well stocked and reasonably priced, the washing-up facilities were adequate (only two sinks though), the toilet/shower block was clean (if a little dated), the fishing lake is pretty and the village is a pleasant five minute walk and has all you need. The negatives were a very poor playground, no hairdyers, showers were 30p for 5min, some uncontrolled loud music, keycodes for the toilets and some unkempt resident caravans. Most of the campers we met were fairly local and seemed to use the site primarily for its ease of access. I'm not sure I'd travel the 70 miles again as I found the site a bit too 'average'.

Second visit here, and despite some inclement weather it was a lovely stay. Lots of us (19 adults and 15 children) and we all had a great time. Owners very friendly and the ducks were very cheeky (had to keep an eye on 2 of them who were prone to going into open tents !) Only thing which marred the holiday was the sight of a young boy throwing stones at the ducklings on the pond. I kind of lost it and yelled at him from across the other side of the pond till I was almost purple in the face. Luckily he slunk back to his caravan where I hope his parents gave him a roasting and even more luckily he missed the ducklings. Apologies to the fishermen and people in nearby caravans for me yelling - hope I didn't startle you too much :) Looking forward to many more visits here :)

Been twice now paid £9 a night , fantastic site, owners are very friendly and welcoming. There a nice pond/lake for fishing ,The kids loved the woods for adventure / exploring ,small play area for toddlers. Showers and toilets are heated and kept clean , saw a lady moping at 10pm.The key codes on the toilet doors are a bit of a task when slightly drunk. And the shop is well cheap and stocked. When the rally field isn't open campers are on top meadow which is on a slight slope which I found myself at the bottom of the airbed every night lol (but that's all part of camping).recommended to everyone . 10/10

This site is great , I would recommend to anyone. Its well presented , clean and quiet. Top Field is slightly sloping and the bottom is quite level. We went into the top field , as we advised it would be quieter, Shops well stocked and it even cheaper than my local shop. There is a small play area and fishing lake. Great for walks through the woods. I found The only pain in the neck was the key codes on the toilets, as after a few drinks it took me ages to get in . But overall its cheap and cheerful 10/10 Would definitely go again
