I’ve an issue with the Club over its pricing. At £50 pn member price it’s getting silly and pricing out working families. If the club wants to focus on its core base of largely financially pampered over 65s then say so.
But that aside this is a lovely site with some - not all - very friendly “wardens”. A 2 mile walk to Embleton Bay and some lovely circular walks taking in Newton by the Sea.
The Greys Inn at Embleton is the best proper pub locally.
It’s top of our list for repeat visits as an area and there isn’t a better site option locally as far as I know?

We stayed here for a week in July.
Unfortunately, it rained most of the week but the pitch was well drained (central grass pitch) and never got muddy.
The site is in a quiet location not too far from Alnwick.
There is a bus stop right outside the site if you don't want to use the car and there is a path from the site down to the beach.
The site was well kept and has 2 toilet/shower blocks so never had to queue.
We have already booked to go again next spring.

We have just spent another enjoyable 9 days on this level and well-kept site. There are 2 good toilet and shower blocks which are kept spotless by the friendly staff.
There is an information room with lots of leaflets about the area as well as a book swap shelf.
There was a freezer in there which would be handy for people who did not have an electric hook up.
Plenty of good walking and cycling nearby plus the excellent beaches. It is a lovely walk from the site on footpaths down to the beach at Embleton. From there you can walk down to Craster or up to Low Newton.
The nearby golf club at Embleton is really handy if you are on the beach and fancy some refreshments.
They are very welcoming to folk tramping sand in to buy ice creams etc, it is not a snooty golf club with a dress code. Plenty of outdoor seating available.
We also recommend the Jolly Fisherman in Craster, the Fishing Boat Inn at Boulmer and the Reel and Creel Seafood trailer in Bamburgh.
NB the 3 reviews below by southlandsfirth and by Walker53 and by Fitkid are not for this site.

This Site has benefitted, we think from a gradual upgrade over the 12 or so years we've been using it.
Toilets and facilities are now at C & C Club standard, even if shower curtains have been removed in what, presumably, is a Covid precaution.
The Motorhome service point is in a better location and the chance of reversing into a plant tub, as we have, has gone.
With the end of season getting near, they were only using hard standings but, unlike other year end visits, both toilet blocks were open.
Pubs and Hotels in Embleton weren't open most of the time, due to low staff numbers, meaning we couldn't eat out. Bus services continue to function though.
Finally, it goes without saying that Site staff were as usual efficient, friendly and helpful.

The campsite was in a beautiful location. We were told about the walk to the beach, which was lovely (although we weren't told how long the walk was and it was further than expected).
The site is close to Craster and Dunstanburgh castle which were both amazing places to visit. It was clean and tidy, with good shower and toilet facilities.
The value for money was fairly good. It was the most expensive of the three sites we stayed at, but probably had the best facilities.
The online booking system was good and the staff friendly and informative.
The only negative would be not having a cafe or restaurant on site.

Very well run and organised campsite. Great facilities. Everything kept spotless.
Well located for local places of interest which are reachable by car, bus, bike and, some, walking distance.
Ample information given and questions answered by friendly staff when I had them.

Visited this popular site in the summer.
Well organised friendly team - settled us on pitch and were available to give good advice.
Good level grass pitch and clean facilities.
An excellent location for walking to and along the beaches. Golf course and castle in walking distance.
A walk into Craster for their famous kippers and crab recommended.
Would definitely visit again.

Very nice site. Although nearly full did not have to queue to use facilities of which there were only 3 of each in 2 blocks.
Although not really a minus point when it came to leave we found that we were blocked in on site. Our caravan was amongst tents. We had to manhandle the van to hitch up and then thread our way through the other tents to get out.
Would go again though. Perhaps a hard standing would be better.
