Very clean site and very hot showers which was lovely.
Perfect location to walk The Bamford Edge but busy train line very close by.
Trains kept me awake through the night.

A good sized pitch with spotless grounds and facilities.
The campsite is quiet and is perfectly situated for exploring the Peak District.
Drying facilities would have been useful.

Absolutely impressed with the site from arriving to leaving.
Impeccably clean and tidy washrooms, showers and toilets.
A small tidy and peaceful campsite. Friendly and yet still private. Very impressed as it was my first time there.
Was able to totally switch off and rest and relax.
Will go back again.

Compact, well tended site. Facilities very clean and every effort made to maintain high standards of infection prevention. A relaxing venue.
Easy access to local tourist spots, facilities and amenities as well as many less crowded walking routes.
Site is immediately next to a railway line and close to a river ( accessed via a gated fence ) so MAY not be suitable for light sleepers or those concerned about water danger for young children. Also children are discouraged from playing on bikes or with balls around the site as it is small. There is a playground within easy walking distance.
We were not disturbed by the trains - plenty fresh air and walking ensures a good sleep!
Slight malodour from waste water drain (this MAY be due to heavy rain in previous days prior to our visit).
We would use this site again.

Lovely, well kept and scrupulously clean site in a great location for walks, trains and buses to Sheffield and many parts of the Peak District.
We had difficulty sleeping on our first night as trains run very close to the site through the night, but by nights 2 and 3 we hardly noticed them!
Would certainly visit again.

Visited the site for one night and what a great find! Owners were extremely helpful
And we were quickly told all the info when we arrived then could set up. Lovely site, very clean and nice and quiet. In great location for walkers but also for visiting local places, we went to castleton to watch a band in the caves.
Picnic tables available if you want to sit and eat away from your pitch. Toilets and showers very well looked after and shower was nice and warm.
Lots of people talking about trains on precious reviews, it’s really not bad- I think I heard 4 pass the whole time, and nothing after 11pm or in the night, but we wouldn’t have minded anyway as was a great site-
Will be back

Fantastic campsite, good pitches and ideally situated for climbing in the Peak District and good MTB trails close by up to Ladybower.
There is a park and football pitch within walking distance for the kids.
The owners were very helpful and the amenities extremely clean and well looked after.
Many reviews complain about the trains but we didn't find this a problem and were not disturbed during the night as they seem to stop after 10-11pm.

Good sized, level pitches with drain for grey waste and very useful patio area.
Very clean showers/toilets and well kept grass with flowers and shrubs. Easy to find, just out of Hathersage.
The only down side is that this is a small triangle of land between a busy road and an equally busy railway line. The railway runs 24/7 very close to the touring pitches.
If you're looking for a very quiet site, this may not be the place for you. Can't comment on child friendliness as we didn't take any children!
