Have stopped here a number of times, nice location but can get very busy over main holidays and weekends, looks like a tent city. Basic amenities and can be noisy which has put me off returning, the showers were temperamental and the toilets quite dirty late on in the day.

Lovely big 'camp where you like site'. Very busy but friendly. Although busy it wasn't noisy. Easy access to the lake. Shop very pleasant. Toilets / showers busy but ok. We are hoping to visit again this august.

Stayed on this lovely site on 1st & 2nd Aug. For a weekend away, arriving early on the Friday is a must as by 10pm the site is packed with still more arriving on the Saturday.

Beautiful setting within walking distance of the village centre which has all the amenities you will need. We could see the lake from our tent which was lovely to wake up to.

Facilities were ok . Quite a few showers and only 50p for 5 mins.

Price was £14 per night for 2 adults to camp which is a bit steep but the views and setting made it worth while.

Would definitely go again but would try and go during the week when it is a bit less like a festival ground!

I went to this campsite with 2 of my friends for 2 nights and we all thought it was a fantastic weekend. There was lots of space to put your tent and you could choose the plot as well which we thought was really good. The toilets are not the best but there is quite a lot of them which helps, also the showers are basic but acceptable and are 50p to use (not to bad) and last quite a while. All the facilities i.E Toilets, showers, washing up sinks, washing machines etc are all in the same place which we thought was really helpful. There is electrical plug sockets near the sinks in the toilet area so for us girls that's fab for drying hair.Lol.
Also there is a small shop at the site entrance where you pay to stay on the site, it only has basic items like bread, eggs, milk, chocolates etc but it is really helpful if you don't feel like walking a mile or two into the town. The campsite is quite big and close to the lake. On our 2nd night the site seemed to fill up quite a lot but had a lovely atmosphere and wasn't too noisy when it got late even thou there was quite large groups of people.
If your an animal lover like myself then you would really enjoy sitting out in the nice weather watching the goats walk past and at the farm itself there was 2 peacocks, chickens and 2 cows etc.
I would defo recommend this campsite to everyone and me and my boyfriend are thinking of going in a few weeks. (also the staff was really friendly at the site but we found a lot of the locals in the town was a bit off)

Beautiful site, great view of lake.

Unfortunately staff fairly rude and a few groups on site playing very loud music and singing all day and until gone 2am both nights we stayed.

Facilities ok, but in need of occasional clean!

Walk to local pubs only a few minutes and local town was lovely, with food shops, banks, gift shops etc

My partner and I arrived at the site around 8pm on Friday - was lucky to get a spot for 2 nights as was already very busy. People before were turned away when asked for 3 nights (Booking before is not permitted, however when booking was asked if we had pre booked)

We soon found a large area of grass to pitch our tent for the weekend - luckily for us, we were in close proximity of the Lake, Fresh water tap & Shower room.

Facilities are basic but you can't expect luxury when out in a field. Showers are 50p for around 5 minutes (Warning water can be hot and you might burn your bum.Plus wear your flip flops too as floors have soil on them)

Men be expected to have a long wait if your partner has gone for a shower at the same time, as the Ladies almost always has a queue to use the toilet / showers & sinks.

At night yes there is noise. But all this quietens down around 12pm. The funniest thing is being woken at 6am by the resident Goats running past your tent (if your tent strings are chewed this will be why.As the tent next to us found out)

Shops are a 5 minute drive away. Local spar provides you with all the necessities for food etc. There is a shop on site but this only sells the basics (chocolate & pop) and will not be able to provide you Lamps, Tent Poles, Pans, Matches, Towels. So be sure to pack these as we spent Saturday morning hunting these items in the local shops.

Easy access to Coniston Lake and is a pleasant and peaceful setting. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would recommend this site to anyone who wants a break away.

I stayed at this campsite for two nights at the beginning of July with 13 friends. Overall the campsite was fine, we had plenty of space to pitch our tents and the facilities were adequate. The toilets and showers appeared to be quite old, and although they weren't spotlessly clean, they were useable and could have been much worse. However in the middle of a field I don't think it would be fair to expect a five star bathroom!

This campsite is well located; only a couple of minutes walk to the lake and a few minutes drive to the nearest shops, pubs and cafes.

The only downside to this site is that we found the staff to be extremely unhelpful and very rude, a customer service training session wouldn't go a miss! The lady we spoke to when we checked in took our money and gave us a list of rules without a 'hello, please, thank you' or even a smile! However that said, this is a good site, and I would use it again.

Beware: This campsite does not allow gazebos!

Just got back from 3 nights (Fri-Sun) at Coniston Hall Campsite. Overall was a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

2 Adults, 1 Tent, 1 Car = £14 per night. Tent size is not an issue unless extremely busy. When we arrived midday (Fri) site was quite empty but by the end of the night and into saturday the site had filled up rapidly and even people putting up their tents in the dark with only their car lights for light.

Look around the site for a good space before pitching up as there are some good areas away from the mass of the site although they may be a trek to the toilet but even so its worth the walk!

Facilities are basic but clean however more than one 50p may be needed as only 3 minutes hot water is supplyed in the showers and sometimes you have to put in more than one 50p for the shower to work! Washing up area available to clean dishes and utensils and also tumble dryer only 20p.

Site is situated on the lakeside of Coniston Water which you can see from your tent and is worth a swim in though beware its cold!

Noise levels were quite minimal at night as the site rules there is to be no noise after 11pm which most people obeyed by.

The village of Coniston is only a short 15 minute walk away where there are a range of shops and pubs to suit your needs. However beware shops can be expensive so take whatever food you can with you and not all places accept debit/credit cards so make sure you have cash.

Overall great get away and would definitely recommend and re-visit this site again :)

Stayed here with wife and daughter. Only place in area with vacancies. Expected basic and dirty facilities but was pleasantly surprised. Camped near lake at bottom end of field opposite shower / toilet block(very clean but needed change to pay for showers).
Short walk to village pubs one with own brewery bluebird ale (worth a try or several tries in my case) overall basic site but worth another visit. Good idea to take cream for midges if your'e next to lake. I forgot but beer helped (drinking it not rubbing it in).

My son and I stayed here for a couple of days this June 08. Like another person said in a review, groups rule, but still not a bad site.
A little rocky, hard to find a pitch without a few rocks in it. Toilets clean and plenty of showers, you may find timing your showers to avoid waiting in a queue. The good points are there is a great view directly from your tent as the lake is only yards away and there is plenty of room on the site, on the whole not a bad site could do with a little revamp.
