We stayed here for one night last Saturday. We were welcomed on arrival. Reception staff ver pleasant. Reception also doubles as the shop and has all the usual basic food items as well as wines and spirits. Nice cakes and pastries.
The pitches are very large and more than enough space for a caravan, awning and car. We had a campervan and awning. Water and waste facilities are dotted around the site and the staff request you separate food rubbish from general rubbish as they have a very good recycling standard to uphold.
The showers and toilets were clean and tidy. Shower pressure a bit weedy but not a problem. Washing up sinks at the end of the toilet block produce very hot water!
The site was about 3/4 full on our visit but still lovely and quiet. There were some young 20 somethings camping nearby who were model campers, tidy, chatting and laughing quietly. Lovely!
The cliffs are just a 5 minute walk between the children's playground and dog walking area so we took our dog along the cliffs a short way then down on to the beach and walked to Sheringham about 2 1/2 miles. Sheringham is a lovely little place with a mix of high st and independant/artisan shops. As you would expect fish and chips are abundant and much to my husband's delight, so are jellied eels, whelks, dressed and plain crab, lobster etc. Finished off with an ice cream we were ready for the walk back. Be aware of the tide times if you want to walkthe beach. The sea comes right to the base of the cliffs.
Back on site the shop is open until 8pm and, provided no-one is booked on to the pitch the next day, you can have 2 extra hours and stay till noon fre of charge. Any later costs £10. 00
Great place for singles families and lovely views from cliffs. I'd definitely go back again.

Lovely site, we had a pitch near the cliff top which was great. Shower rooms and toilets were immaculate. Lovely shop/reception which was very handy for the morning paper. The staff were very helpful too. Nice walk into Cromer and we cycled to Sheringham, easy cycle ride. Lovely walks. We would certainly recommend it. Are we going back, to right we will.

Really lovely campsite, was very nice, peaceful and quiet (we are quite picky with this!) Had no complaints whatsoever, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There is a shop/ reception which is a great addition to the site, and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. Thank you, will come again soon!

We spent spring bank holiday weekend here and it has probably become our new favourite local site. We backed on to the main road but the seaview from inside and outside of the caravan more than made up for that in my book. It also meant we were in a more sheltered part of the site. We did have to queue for showers in the morning but the block was nice and warm, and they are planning to redo the dated block near reception over winter.
I can see why some people don't rate it as highly but for us (with kids aged 7 and 10) it was ideal. Seaviews, direct access to coastal walks and the beach. Lovely views and can watch the sun set over the sea. The kids loved the really well equipped play areas and very generous ball games area.
We went into Sheringham one day to mooch round the shops and had a good pub lunch in the two Lifeboats on the sea front. The other day we want for a walk in Sheringham Park which was beautiful as the rhododendrons were in flower.

We have been to this site once before in 2010 and not much has changed apart from more of the cliff has been eroded. The staff are friendly and helpful and there were no dramas booking other than it was full on the days we wanted so had to change to a couple of days later. Pitches are allocated at the time of booking and are large enough for most needs. Our tent is 8x5m and there was still plenty of room. Shower and toilet blocks were clean and more than adequate. There is a kids play park and field near the site entrance. Although situated near to the main road into Cromer, traffic noise was not an issue but I suppose being further away from the road on this visit helped. Free WiFi is included but when it worked was only good enough for a bit of web browsing. I just relied on my phone which got a reasonable 3G signal.
The site is great for access to the beach, which is just a short walk along a cliff top path and down a ramp. The beach is clean and if you are feeling energetic and the tide is on its way out, you can walk to Cromer and back. There are some excellent short walks into the countryside from the campsite but you will need an OS map to find the paths as navigation is not straight forward.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great for the period we stayed and only the first and last days were totally rain free. As we are members of the National Trust, it came in handy on those rainy days as there are a few properties around Norfolk worth visiting.
The reception also doubles as a shop but realistically if you are staying for a week, Morrisons in Cromer will meet all your needs.
Norwich is worth a visit if you haven’t been there before and for a day out, boat hire on the Broads is always a possibility. There are also plenty of cycle routes around the county if you want an alternative to walking.
There are a couple of pubs on the main road in to Cromer so on the last evening to save cooking we tried the Fishing Boat in East Runton. However, don’t expect anything more than basic food!
I think we would camp at this site again but like before, might leave it a few years as there is the rest of the country to explore.

Just spent a few days in a tent at Woodhills.
Positives:
1. Good customer service, easy booking system and friendly staff
2. Well stocked shop with camping/caravan products, fresh and tinned food and fresh coffee machine etc (open 8-8)
3. 15 min walk to local pub, 20 min walk to beach & train station
4. Slopes not too steep
5. Good kids play ground away from camping area
6. Good quality loos, showers, washing up areas that never seemed too busy; no additional fees
7. Excellent size pitches
Negatives:
1. No shelter/hedges etc so wind is strong over the cliffs & through the very open field
2. Noise from the road is continual as this is on the main coastal road
3. No gate closing time so people were able to drive through the campsite at any time of night
Minor requests:
1. Site numbers need to be repainted
2. Showers timer only lasted 30 seconds, got annoying having to keep pressing it

We have just spent a brilliant week at Woodhill Park with my two kids aged 12 and 14. The site is in a fantastic location with just a short walk in either direction to a nice sandy beach.
We walked into Cromer several times by walking along a short stretch of narrow footpath to East Runton then walking on the beach. It took us just over half an hour. Cromer is a lovely seaside town and has everything you could need, including a Morrisons, Halfords and Argos.
We enjoyed Sheringham, Cley and Blakeney and visited the Muckleburgh Collection. We also got the train into Norwich for a day and did a boat trip on the broads.
The site itself is large, we had one of the EHU pitches near the main toilet block. I was initially a bit concerned about the noise of the busy A road which you can hear from many parts of the site but after the first day we didn't really hear it and it didn't bother us.
The pitches are set out in rows and I like the fact that your pitch is marked so you know which is your area. We didn't have any problems with people walking across our pitch, other than a few people who walked past close to our tent late at night talking loudly! Although busy during the day we didn't have any issues with noise at night.
One of the best things about this site is the large open field for kids to play on with tennis nets, football goal, crazy golf, sandpit and play equipment. My kids loved it and there was enough room for everyone to play away from the tents and caravans.
The site has a great shop and its open long enough to be really useful. So nice to be able to pick up a newspaper and a pint of milk without having to get in the car.
I could only think of a couple of small niggles. The showers in the main block were very very hot. My 12 yo couldn't stand under the water. This block is starting to look a bit tired and the facilities appeared to be only cleaned once a day which really isnt enough when the site is full. At times the potwash, showers and toilets were really dirty. There are family bathrooms and you can hire a key but we didn't bother with these.
My kids say its one of the best sites they have been to in 8 years of camping - praise indeed! -and we will definitely go back for another visit.

Had a lovely holiday. My 5 year old loved it too
Check in really easy. Staff friendly. Site shop well stocked. Had lovely bread and buns from local bakery. Prices not too expensive.
Had premium pitch, pitch 47, where you could just see the sea. Campsite looked full but was never very noisy. Was very peaceful and quiet when sat outside.
Good play area and field for kids. Well away from all caravans and tents so that helps with noise. The site is next to a busy road so would recommend a pitch nearer the coast as couldn't hear the road from there. Tent field was near the road and had a lot of traffic noise if pitched on the edge.
Showers always clean but one block was so hot you couldn't stand under them. The other block was a bit cool. A couple of the showers you had to press the button for water every two seconds which was a bit annoying. Family showers were lovely so we used them most. Only had to queue once all week.
Dog Walk along coast was lovely. The sunset was amazing. Short walk into West or East Runton was good. Had lovely meal in the Village Inn in West Runton. Lovely big beer garden. Short walk to Cromer was great too. Didn't need to bother getting the car out which we liked. All beach from West Runton and through East Runton, all the way into Cromer was dog friendly which was brilliant. Sand and sea was very clean.
The free WiFi was poor. Could very rarely get it and then it kicked you off it after 10 mins. But didn't really bother us.
Overall the site was lovely, small issue with showers but the location is fantastic. Would definitely visit again.

We stayed at Woodhill for 7 nights from the end of July to beginning of August so it was peak summer holiday time.
We booked in advance & were allocated pitch 27, close to the shop & main toilet block. It was great for amenities but we discovered that the view was rubbish (view of tents/caravans & nothing else). My tip would be to ask for one of the pitches further up with a sea view (probably have to pay for a premium pitch).
The site has well defined pitches but not much privacy (as others have mentioned). The pitch was a standard one & plenty big enough for our tent (Outwell Montana 6 with awning).
Sadly the steps & cliff path have crumbed into the sea so you have to walk to either East or West Runton to get down to the beach (15-20 mins). Someone mentioned the beaches not being dog friendly but I think they are in places - the locals were down there walking their dogs in the mornings (on the stretch from East Runton to Cromer).
Showers were free & pretty good (hot) but got quite grubby because of the volume of people using them, however they were cleaned regularly. I didn't have to queue because I usually went early. The site was fairly noisy because of the time of year - loads of kids around, but it was quiet after about 10pm.
Shop was fairly well stocked - they don't do freezing of ice packs, they only offer their own to use - you have to put £1 deposit down on each ice pack you use & then pay 30p for each replacement. No problem getting deposit back.
Local amenities were OK - a few shops in East & West Runton. The Village Inn did nice food but expensive. Walking to Cromer only takes about 30 mins but there's also a bus stop outside if you don't want to walk. Road to Cromer has a footpath all the way but road is busy and noisy (wouldn't fancy it in the dark or with small children).
I would stay at Woodhill again but I'd request a premium pitch and ask for a better view. I'd also avoid summer holiday time because it was a bit too busy for my liking.

This is one of the poorest campsites I've ever visited. The toilet facilities are not properly cleaned as the cleaner popped her head in and then signed the sheet.
No recycling facilities found on site and the family shower blocks are terrible as they are small and not very family friendly.
The shop is well stocked and they have a great play area for the kids but it was littered with empty booze bottles
I don't recommend here and wont be visiting again
