On first arriving at this site it felt very soulless. The site was very quiet with a lot of dwellers in their caravans, and some tents in a top field, however we did warm to the site and ended up staying 4 nights.
The toilet/shower blocks were the cleanest we have ever seen. There was free electric for plug in hairdryer / straighteners. All washbasins had individual mirrors, shelves and big table in the ladies which we guess can be used for baby changing - they thought of everything! They also had 6 individual bathrooms, for the shyer campers amongst us. We used both. The cleanliness was maintained at all times.
The site is situated right on the coast parth, unfortunately, due to coastal erosion, you cannot walk the coast path into Cromer, however it is still intact (just) to West Runton, There are a few sheer drops which have been fenced, but I would recommend that lively dogs are kept on leads at some points.
We used the public transport during our stay. Excellent Coasthopper service £7 for daily rover ticket, which stopped outside the site every half hour, this will take you right along the North Norfolk Coast which was beautiful. We also used the train from West Runton station (15 min walk from site) to Norwich.
Excellent pub in West Runton called White Horse.
We would definitely recommend this site and hope to return soon.

A great site I would score this 8 out of 10 when all things considered
Site staff were very friendly and the site it self is well laid out, clean and tidy
Toilet / shower blocks are modern clean and well maintained and are easy accessible from all areas
Shop has all the basics you will require plus a freezer block service
There is a large play area for children with swings etc plus a games area for tennis and football. There are some games that can be hired via the shop like giant chess etc
Site is situated on the cliff tops just outside Cromer with fantastic sea views and the surrounding area.
Some of the site is flat and other parts nearer the cliff edge are slopped. The site can be quite windy being close to the cliff edge although there are good areas where to avoid the worst of the wind.
The site is next to the main road leading into Cromer so there is some road noise if you are pitched on one of these pitches but these are the better spots to avoid the wind.
There are a couple of good walks. One loop takes you into West Runton and you can return to the camp site along the road. The second loop takes you into East Runton and again return along the road back to the camp site. Both villages have pubs and restaurants to stop at as aprt of the walk
Cromer has lots of facilities and has a good large supermarket.

Very welcoming and organised reception staff gave a good first impression. We had booked a non serviced pitch and were directed to a large gently sloping field. Clean toilets, showers and wash up area with plenty of hot water available.
Toilet / shower block with family bath rooms was adjacent to the tent field and a reasonably short walk from all of the field. Behind the toilet block is a barbecue area.
Being on a cliff top facing the north sea it can be breezy! Whilst there we had tropical sunshine strong winds and a torrential thunderstorm,a baptism of fire in a new tent on first trip for about 20 years!
A basic children's play area and mini golf area are close to reception with a small shop.
Nicely sited for Cromer and Sheringham and cliff top walks, with plenty more to explore in the area.
If we go back to this part of Norfolk we will use Woodhill again without a doubt.

Our first time camping in our new tent - very professionally run and clean campsite. Large reception area with very helpful staff and on arriving we were given a map directing us to our pitch which was plenty big enough for our 4 berth tent.
Wonderful view of the beach if a little windy on the first night! However we had been expecting wind in Norfolk with so many windmills so this was not a problem.
Great facilities with family bathrooms which were always clean with plenty of hot water and not to far to walk from our tent. We have not children so can't really comment on the facilities for kids but it is a lovely area with a small play park.
Campsite is between east and west runton which would be easy to walk too if you so wished however the on site shop is also excellent for forgotten bits and pieces.
Overall we had a wonderful weekend there and woule definitely recommend and use again.

Visited this site last weekend. This is a lovely site, professionally run, kept very clean, and the staff extremely helpful. The family bathrooms are fantastic!
Frequent bus services run either way and the stop are situated outside of the main entrance of the site. Shop on site stocks essentials and the fish and chip van that calls on site is a plus.

Very friendly reception staff who gave me a map of where our tent pitch was located. The pitch was a good size for our kyham quebec 8 xc with good space between other campers. Had electric hook up, nice to get the heater on when it got cold at night.
The toilet/shower blocks were very good always clean with plenty of hot water. We paid a £20 returnable deposit and used the family / shower block option as we have a toddler, but even though you are given a key for these sometimes you have to queue for a while as they could do with more especially when busy.
The 2 older children 12yrs and 10yrs complained of being bored on the site as the play area is mainly for the younger ones and the zip wire was broken. The on site shop is good not too pricey.
Cant fault the location in between west runton and east runton with an easy walk from the site to west runton beach along the cliff path. Also cromer and sheringham within easy driving distence, had fantastic fish and chips at award winning mary janes in cromer our first night but the queues were huge when we tried to go again on our 4th night.
All in all this is a very good place to stay came away feeling very relaxed
And the weather we had was fantastic in the high 70`s every day. Will be returning again soon.

We arrived on the Saturday of the May day bank holiday weekend and were greeted at reception by a very helpful and friendly receptionist who gave us a map and pointed us to our pitch.
The site was very clean and the pitch size was easily big enough for our 5 man Atakama tent and out car. The shower blocks had been recently refurbished and were clean and in excellent order, there was plenty of hot water and we only had to wait a few minutes for a free cubicle.
The beach is a 10-15 min walk past two pubs and a shop. While we were there the wind picked up and being on top of a cliff we did have a sleepless night on our last night but what do you expect with 25-30 mile an hour winds!
There is a well stocked shop at prices decent for a camp site and on Saturdays a fish and chip van is on site for an hour or so. We will definitely be going back especially as repeat bookings get a discount of 30% during non peak times.

It was our first time camping so we really didn't know what to expect and we were not disappointed by this site. We got a level pitch on the serviced area (we didn't use the electric but needed the space for our XL tent!).
We were closest to the main toilet and shower block which is adjacent to the reception. This was immaculate, the showers were piping hot and the heating was on, which was a godsend as we had a couple of chilly nights!
Our plastic pegs were rubbish and next time we will be getting some more substantial ones for sure. The shop did have a selection of pegs to buy as well as the basics you would expect to need if you had forgot anything.
My children, aged 3 and 5, had a wonderful time playing on the park and using the crazy golf too. My dog loved watching the comings and goings and being free to roam on the beach at East Runton. It was practically empty and was stunning with the backdrop of the cliffs to add to its beauty!
All in all we had a fantastic time and are already thinking of going back in September before the season ends! Would highly recommend this site.

Spent a week on this campsite during the Easter holidays. Told on arrival that the toilet block we were parked next to was closed (and on talking to seasonal campers it has been for some time) however there are two more toilet / shower facilities on site. The new toilet block has toilets on one side and on the other side family shower blocks, which consisted of a single push button shower, open toilet and sink.
Kids play park was great, with a small crazy golf course and table tennis (50p charge per person).
The staff were very helpful and were informative during an unfortunate power cut, they could not be faulted.
Small shop with basic supplies (no alcohol !)
The scenery brilliant with a 15minute walk along the cliff edge to west Runton beach and 10 minute walk to east Runton beach. Great pubs and village shops in each village.
Great week at this site, only downside is that the walk to west Runton beach via the cliff edge is not fenced and although a great view can be a dangerous for small children and dogs off leads.

We visited this site for 3 nights in august and we are going back for a week in august 2010. We had a great time, the first impressions were very good and we were made to feel welcome. The pitch was spot on and we had no complaints about any of the facilities. Would highly recommend this site!
The beach was a nice walk away, but not too far and was never overcrowded. The on site shop had most things you are likely to need on a trip should you require them and staff were very nice. The children's play area is great and our 2 loved it (8 & 12). You also felt that they were safe on there and that helps you to relax. Roll on August!
