Yet another great visit to Woodhill Park.
Our last visit was with a tent which we enjoyed a couple of years ago, but this time we have upgraded and now have a tourer.
On arrival we were booked in promptly and told where are our pitch was, which was fully serviced, well worth the money. The pitch itself was sloping slightly but easily overcome with a levelling block. One thing to bear in mind is that some pitches are near the road but this is fenced off so there could be some road noise. TV reception is not the best but the channels picked up are clear.
Our pitch was located near the play area which was great as we could see our daughter playing with new found friends, play area is very large with plenty for kids to do.
Facilities on site are kept very clean and well maintained, the availability of family rooms is very handy if you have small children as these have a toilet, shower and bath.(There is a returnable deposit for a key £5).
The whole site is kept very clean and tidy, the shop on site does only have the bear essentials, but there is a Morrisons down in cromer for the bigger things.
Cromer is about a 20 min walk, a lovely little town. Plenty of other things to do, inc cliff top walks and other nice places to visit.
Would recommend this site, will be returning again ourselves.

We chose this location for our first camping trip as it was not too far from home and it had good reviews.
First impressions were good, the reception staff very helpful. The site was not too busy as busy as I expected over the BH weekend.
The cliff top location is lovely if not a bit windy. The site is well maintained. There is a small shop and laundrette. The park for the children was very good with crazy golf, sand pit and assault course.
The toilet block was nice and clean and I really like the separate family shower rooms which housed a toilet, shower and basin. I thought this was a great idea and I enjoyed the privacy when washing.
There are also family bathrooms which I believe you need to hire a key for. My only complaint would be that the hot water in the showers was very poor. It was a push button shower which lasted only seconds and changed from hot to cold in an instant.

We stayed for one night on this site, booking over the phone was simple and straightforward and they were very helpful.
On arrival first impressions were that the site was well kept, reception was nice and clean with friendly staff who explained all you needed to know.
The pitches are clearly numbered and boundaries well marked, pitches are a good size for a standard pitch (around 8m x 10m). The facilities were lovely and clean (refurbished in 2009) with separate family shower rooms which we thought were a great idea, but our only criticism’s with them was there was no where to hang your toiletries when you were in the shower. The timer on the shower tap was extremely quick and the water temperature was running intermittent hot and cold. Not too bothered as it was only one night but wouldn’t want that for a whole week.
There is a small bbq area with picnic seats provided which again were very well maintained.
Fantastic views of the countryside and only about 25 mins walk to Cromer with a few nice pubs along the way. The nearby road is quite busy during the day and traffic is fairly regular at night, being light sleepers we found this a little disturbing but it's not bad enough to put us off returning again.

Great site, excellent location. We have stayed several times this season and enjoyed every minute. The facilities are clean and well maintained.
The site is on a cliff top on a slight slop, if you like peace and quiet ensure your pitch is away from the main road. There are some great walks along the cliffs or the beach and it's about a 20 min walk in to Cromer. All in all it's a good site highly recommended with lots of play equipment for the kids, don't hesitate to book you won't be disappointed.

We have stayed at Woodhill over a number of years, BUT will not be returning and neither will our friends who were also on this site. It was full of tents and seemed more like a refugee camp than a touring/campsite.
Then the site became very closely packed with tents and caravans next to each other, where you could hear personal arguments and drinking/ shouting until late at night. This is now a site that we are all agreed will be off our list for the future. The staff are very good and it is unfortunate that whoever owns the site is more towards pack em high and not particularly cheap.

We stayed here for four days at the end of August/start of September. After an initial battle with the winds and a hill top the campsite was fantastic. They even offered as an alternative pitch but we chose to continue our battle. Pre booking the site were very helpful with our request to be away from the road and preferably not in the middle, which we requested due to having three children under four.
There are family bathrooms on site (bath, separate shower, toilet, baby change) which are available by way of a returnable deposit (£20) which we took. All the toilets and showers are clean, well lit and spacious though.
The play area is lovely, ours spent hours digging for treasure in the giant sand pit. There is a large field too, giving them plenty of space to run/play games. The BBQ area is also good with picnic benches, brick BBQ spaces and plenty of bins.
You can walk across the cliffs to the beach at West Runton and easily walk in to East Runton. The North Norfolk railway was worth a visit and the town of Holt at the other end is lovely. We ate at the Kings Head there and would recommend it.
Would recommend the site!

We had a fabulous stay at this campsite. Very well organised, so that even novice campers like us could work out what we were supposed to be doing!
Showers and toilets were always reasonable, and were certainly cleaned regularly. We only used the main block near reception but there was another block further up the site. Water was nice and warm although the push button showers were a little annoying.
Dish wash area was often busy, particularly early evening, but never had to wait too long. Not undercover though and the water here didn't seem as warm, we quite often boiled a kettle and washed up at the tent if we didn't have a lot to do.
So much to do, both on site and off. We stayed for a week with 3 boys (aged 4,5,7) and never went more than 3 miles from the campsite. Children's play area was fantastic, giant chess and Jenga and a beach within walking distance!
We also walked into the funfair at East Runton which was 99p a ride - bargain! and visited the Wednesday afternoon carboot in a field next door to the campsite - great for spending the holiday pennies. Also a nice walk from the campsite onto a hill, the children really enjoyed being able to look down onto the campsite and spot our tent.
The on site shop had everything we needed, there is also a handy shop in East Runton and a Morrisons in Cromer.
Staff were friendly and helpful and did seem to actively manage the site, including asking a large party to quieten down one evening late on, and also intervening when a group of unsupervised children were causing some problems near the site entrance.
All in all, a very positive experience, good value for money, and we would definitely return.

Woodhill is one of our favourite campsites for family holidays and weekend breaks. Good clean facilities, huge play area for the kids with plenty of room for football, baseball, kite flying etc, and well situated for Sheringham, Cromer and coast walks.
One side of the site backs onto the road between Sheringham and Cromer but we have never found traffic noise to be a problem. There are various pitches all of a good size and on level ground. There is also a family friendly pub just a few minutes walk away.
All in all a great site & recommended!

Spent 5 nights at Woodhill Park on a standard pitch (no electric). I agree with previous reviewers that the pitches were on the small side with only the minimum amount of space to sit out. Also quite crowded, but this was to be expected mid August. Some road noise, but the wind made more noise on several nights. Due to the cliff top location it really was very windy on one occasion. Need to ensure tents/ gazebos/windbraeks are well pegged down!
Staff pleasant, location great for visiting Norfolks attractions. Norwich and The Broads easily accessible as well as Cromer and Sheringham.
Our 9 and 6 year old loved the playground and spent many hours playing there. There was a tennis net and football goals set up and plenty of room to run around. There was supposedly a 'no ball games' rule around the tents but this wasn't adhered to.Toilets and showers clean. Family shower rooms good idea, with loo, shower and washbasin all within the cubicle. Had to queue most days for showers in the morning, but again to be expected in August. Shop was stocked with usual bits and pieces of food and camping stuff that you may need. They charged £1 deposit then 30p for each freezer pack (wouldn't refreeze our own).
In East Runton (5 minutes walk) there is an outdoors/army surplus shop, fish and chip shop (very nice but busy), local shop and pub (didn't try) as well was access to the beach. In the other direction the cliff top walk goes to the beach at West Runton.
It would be possible to walk into Cromer, but we felt our 6 year old wouldn't be keen on walking back again. Large Morrisons supermarket in Cromer, as well as many smaller shops, cafes etc. Sheringham has lots of small shops including butchers and greengrocers and an 'old fashioned' hardware shop.
Loved the area, and the site was fine but probably wouldn't go back as the pitches were very squashed in together and we prefer a bit more space.

We visited Woodhill Park for a weekend in 2010 to try out our new tent. The pitch was nice and big and we made use of the hook up. The location was lovely and I was able to take some great photos from the cliff top. As others have said, it can get windy but this goes hand in hand with the location!
The site shop was small but useful. My biggest plus for this site is definitely the family bathrooms. We had to wait to get a key but once we had it, our 2 year old daughter was able to wash and bath in a clean, spacious bathroom.
The site was nice and peaceful in a great location. What a wonderful weekend break!
