Just returned from a week at Woodhills. Was disappointed as pitch backed onto the main road and was very noisy day and night didn't get one full nights sleep (despite the vodka), also pitch near to the kissing gate entrance which had a constant flow of people returning around 10pm - 11PM. The showers were also inadequate for the size of the site and trickled out, turning off, . And constantly pushing the button. On the positive side the pitches were quite large and the staff were very friendly but we still returned home a day early and would not return to this site.

This site is well located and within easy reach of the beach and the local town, which has 2 pubs and a small number of shops. Reception was easy to find and the lady on the desk was friendly. There is a regular bus service that you can pick up at the end of the site's entrance.
We found the showers to be extremely busy and were only 8 showers in total for all of the campsite. Unfortunately, we didn't find them to be the cleanest and did not appear to be cleaned at regular intervals, they were always full of grass and mud. We found two sets of toilet blocks and one of them ran out of paper regularly and the soap dispenser was empty for two days running. We did take into consideration that it was was peak season and understand that the site is to be updated with some more shower facilities later this year.
The dog walk area was massive and was a pleasant walk along the cliff tops. However, I do find it hard to understand how a dog can be charged more per night than a child! A dog doesn't use the facilities ie: showers, toilets, etc and most responsible dog owners will always clean up after their pet.
Overall, we had a good stay and would consider returning to Woodhill at a quieter time and hope that the shower facilities will have improved and been updated.

Great Site!
Didn't need to book as we were only staying two nights and June was still considered early season.
The tent (6 man tunnel + front extension) only just went on the pitch allocated to us and would expect that these would be quite a squeeze in August.
Facilities were excellent and the small toilet block at the top of the site is scheduled for improvement further in September '08. Dish washing facilities the best I've seen, very well organised. The main toilet/shower block was very clean and showers always the right temperature (not too hot for the youngsters).
There was a good little shop on site, with a good stock from tent pegs to toys and groceries. The office also has a good stock of local OS maps and things to do.
Very reasonable rates for the night and you don't pay any extras for showers.
The beach, whilst it looks a short walk, isn't as there is a steep cliff face. The play area on site was great, it took ages to get my 6 year old off the zip wire!
We will definitely visit again.

This was our first visit to this park. The site is very open there is no privacy at all. All the caravans are in a huge field with no hedges / shrubs or anything so you are completely open to everyone else. Although the pitches were big enough for a caravan , awning and car it didn't leave much extra space. There is a well stocked (expensive) shop and the ladies in reception are helpful. The children's playground it very good but does get very full and not many parents stick around to supervise. The Toilets and showers are clean but there was only 3 showers in the block on my field which must have had 150 caravans on it. Also the water in the showers was too hot. The park is in a good location near Cromer and Sheringham. I would not return to this park.

This was only our second camping trip and were pleased to pick such a good site. The facilities were good and clean, although as main toilet and shower block were cleaned midday, by the evening the floors were a little dirty (especially as it rained a fair bit!) The showers were also very hot for young children with no means for adjusting the temperature. A well stocked shop and reception, with lots of information on things to do, and a great play area. Would recommend Bewilderwood as a great day out with the children and the seal watching was also fantastic. The only down sides were the washing up sinks were placed right behind a toilet block and had the chemical toilet disposal between them, so it was a bit like washing up in your bathroom, although the views when you turned round were wonderful. With 2 young children we also found it very noisy at night, the park rule stated no loud noise after 10pm but this did not happen, with still quite a lot of noise at 11.30pm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A stunning cliff top walk down to the beach. All in all a good site.

We visited this site in our family tent, we were met at the gate by a friendly warden who showed us straight to our pitch. We booked a superior pitch with electric hook up which is a little extra but viewing the standard pitches which were packed in well the extra is well worth it. However this was august height of the season. The shop was well stocked and again very friendly. There was a massive children's play area with lots for them to do.The toilets and showers were clean and fairly modern 7/10. Good site would visit again without hesitation

This site is very nice indeed, we have already had to visits this year. The facilities are very clean and tidy (toilet block near tent field is a bit dated, but still very clean) The children's play areas are excellent, my 8 and 13 year old boys were very impressed.
On our first stay we had a full serviced pitch which was a nice luxury, but bear in mind that they are not as long as the normal pitches. (I would not have fitted on with my full awning with 2 annexes)
The second stay we had an enormous pitch (enough room for full awning etc and even a badminton pitch (too windy to play though))
Local village is only 10 minute walk away with very friendly pubs and a members only club (membership is £1 a year)
As mentioned in other reviews this is a cliff top site, so although it offers superb views, it can be a bit windy up there.
We will definitely visit this lovely campsite again.

This is one of the best campsites I have been to.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The grounds and pitches very well kept and large, we weren't crammed in and the kids had lots of room to run around and make friends, also the Play area is a good size and has lots to offer for any age.
The walk to the beach along the cliff tops is about 15mins and quite dangerous in places due to erosion but this is not down to the campsite.
It takes 5 mins each way to drive to either Cromer or Sheringham and lots of things to do in both towns.
I enjoyed this break very much and will go again soon.

We visited for the second time last weekend. We has an unserviced pitch last time for our large tent but found the pitches a bit cramped so went for a serviced pitch this time which was much roomier and perfect for our Sunncamp vario 600+. The site is next to the A149 coast road but the only time we noticed any road noise was late at night before we went to sleep.
There is a large play area for the children and a separate dog walking field which is great for the dogs to have a run around on. There is a shop and a launderette on site and also a warden. A fish and chip van visits on Saturday evening from about 5.30. The village inn is a lovely 25 minute slow stroll away and has a beautiful beer garden. They even provide water for dogs.
Plenty of hot water in the showers which are of the push button variety which does mean you cant alter the temperature if it is too hot for you.
Only very slight criticism is that the toilets close for 1 1/2 hours each day for cleaning. This isn't a problem in itself as they don't all close at once but they do only get done once so by late evening / early morning they could get a bit untidy and I would imagine if it rains quite messy. It would be useful if they were cleaned early morning and late evening instead possibly.
Overall a fantastic site with very helpful staff. We cant wait to go back again.

Visited this site over the bank holiday as we were visiting family in the area.
The first thing to bear in mind about this site is the location. It is situated right on the cliff top, so if the weather is a bit blowy beware. Even though we had gusts up to 40mph, it didn't affect the holiday too much, just remember to peg out well.
We had an ample pitch, and were given very strict instructions to place the jockey wheel exactly on the pitch number with the awning on the right, and the car on the right of the awning, and this had to be strictly adhered to. I guess it is their way of separating the caravans, which worked very well.
The site itself was excellent. Staff very friendly, a good childrens play area and also a field for ball games and flying kites etc, clean toilet blocks with lots of hot water, but can get crowded at busy times.
Nearby there are plenty of pubs and restaurants, our particular favourite was the Greek restaurant in East Runton, well worth visiting.
Would certainly recommend this site, and would definitely visit again.
