Ideal for attractions within North Norfolk, with West Runton beach about 1 mile walk from the site through the meadows.
We stayed 4 nights on a basic pitch. The only way to describe the layout of these is that of a car park. Measurements were provided on booking but we did find fitting in our 4man tunnel and car a bit of a squeeze. Another impacting factor was a lot of overheard conversation in the evenings, we felt uncomfortable turning the radio on as not to disturb other campers.
The site have invested in a eco hot water system (good on them) although it is a North Sea front holiday park in England. I'm sure solar power works well in the south of France but not Nth Norfolk. I can't remember washing my hands with hot water and the only hand dryer was out of action all week too!
The toilet facilities were clean and well looked after although we found there to be an ever lasting queue for the suprising shortage of showers.
The shop was well stocked with all the essentials you would require, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent play facilities for the children, our 6yr old had a fantastic time with the crazy golf and amount of play equipment.
There is the potential for it to be a fantastic site although at the moment its quantity of pitches seems to have outgrown the basic showers and washing up facilities.

Just spent a week here and very happy. Quite a big site but very clean and very big pitches. Sited on cliff top between Sheringham and Cromer but 2 smaller villages either side.
Nice walk along cliff top to West Runton and excellent pub with good beer garden, good beer and food. Sheringham is 10 min drive and is lovely with little streets and numerous places to eat and drink (The Lobster has very good food).
Anyway, site has loads of stuff for kids, playground, crazy golf, giant chess & Jenga, big playing field plus of course the beach. Shop has good stock but no beer! All in all an excellent base to explore Norfolk

Bank Holiday Weekend: On our arrival at reception we were met with staff frantically apologising to a customer. They had pre-booked a certain pitch nearly 9 months in advance and had arrived to find that the space had been double booked.
Once the family had been sorted out we finally got our allocation. Proceeded to pitch only to find that people have been encroaching. After a little shuffling the caravan's jockey was on the concrete number block. (A rule of the campsite)
Went to the shower block to find there were 3 showers for the ladies and the same for men. There appeared to be only two blocks of facilities and the site was very busy. There was a lot of queuing for the showers.
There was one field mainly for tents and trailer tents. The other field was primarily for tourers and motorhomes. The units were close together.
The site is right on top of a cliff and there is no protection from the wind as we found out Sunday. It was blowing a gale and our awning had collapsed. By the end of Sunday the tent field was empty.
Did not use the shop. The Fishing Boat Inn in the village gave a warm and friendly welcome. Easy walking distance from the site.

We visited this site for a long weekend in august, staff were very friendly and helpful (we arrived late) Toilets and shower blocks were clean and not too busy considering the site was pretty much full.
The site has small shop which is reasonably priced. There is a large play area for children which ours enjoyed. It is a good location for visiting Cromer or Sheringham.
All in all very good site recommend for families.

This was a very nice campsite, with lots of things to keep the children amused such as a good park area, huge playing field, crazy golf, giant chequers, and giant jenga.
In close proximity was east and west runton and they both had excellent convenience stores for our basic needs. East runton has a nice but very popular chip shop and also a outdoor clothing store which proved useful as we forgot to pack enough jumpers! West runton has a nice pub with a big garden for children.
Close by was Cromer and sherringham, sherringham hosts the north norfolk railway with a lovely steam train which takes you to the nearby village of Holt. Sherringham itself has a pebble beach mainly and a few cafes on the sea front.
Cromer, has a Sandy beach with a small amusement area for young children. A short distance from the beach in Cromer is a Morrisons which proved very useful for us.
We personally preferred the beach in west runton as it was a lot flatter than some of the other beaches and had great access for making sandcastles and for crabbing and also had a nice little cafe/souveneir shop.
On site there is a good little shop but it is only open from 9-6 during the week even at peak times so be warned if you think you are going to need anything out of these times!
The site also had a visiting chip van but you have to be quick because cos the food runs out quickly. It is very reasonably priced and convenient though.
The site has many shower blocks which were clean and well presented although I feel that there was not enough family shower rooms and the ones they had were rather cramped if there were more than 2 of you.
There are family bathrooms but you have to pay a £20 refundable deposit for a key, which is well worth it but we didn't know until the last day! my only gripe about the showers is that I found them too hot and you cant control the temperature which was an issue with my little girl who also does not like hot showers.
The toilet blocks were very clean at all times and there are more than enough toilets, we never had to queue at all.
The site has a good barbecue area with seating and rubbish areas to keep it tidy. This is close to the washing up area which got quite busy at times but we didn't usually have to wait more than 5 minutes to use a sink!
There are lots of drinking water, waste water and waste points all around the site as well, and the site does recycle 85% of its rubbish, all they ask is that you put food waste in one bag in the bin and everything else loose into the bins.
We found that being on top of the cliff meant it was quite windy most of the time with some days being quite harsh winds! a windbreak or 2 is definitely recommended.
All in all it was a lovely holiday, 8 nights away from the hustle and bustle of homelife at a nice clean and attractive campsite. We will definitely be returning next year!

We spent four nights at the site. On arrival we discovered that the previous occupants of our pitch hadn't vacated and couldn't be found. This only unnerved us briefly as the staff immediately allocated us a pitch retained for such occurrences.
We also got a little concerned that we needed to make sure car/ropes etc remain strictly within the boundaries marked out for the pitch, imagining it to be small (we have a big car and a big tent). No problem though - the pitches are much bigger that most, which gives plenty of space for windbreaks and privacy.
Facilities on the site are excellent. Toilet and shower blocks are clean and plentiful. Adjacent to the large and well-equipped play area is an empty 2/3 acre field, ideal for dog-walking / kiting etc. The shop was well-stocked and not over-priced.
The only negative for us is the positioning of pitches 287-304(we were in 300). They are adjacent(about 2m) to the A149 main coast road, and much as I love Harley Davidsons - not at 6.00am! This wouldn't deter us from returning though, we'd just be selective about where to pitch.
Finally - we are frequent(4/5 times a year) campers and rarely have we met site staff as polite and helpful as those at Woodhill.

We stayed at Woodhill Park in late August and found it to be the most cramped campsite we have ever stayed on. We were lucky enough to have an electric pitch backing onto the road which gave us more space than the other campers but all that was separating us from the busy road was a wire fence and even with ear plugs in I could hear (and feel) the traffic thundering past.
The main toilet block was always dirty with often no loo roll or soap and one evening someone had even been sick all over one of the sinks which was stomach churning when you are cleaning your teeth. We did manage to get one of the bathrooms (£20 deposit to share a private bathroom with up to 9 other pitches). This was often very dirty too.
This campsite could be really lovely if perhaps they didn't cram so many people in and moved everything around - say putting the huge (and really good) play areas at the front of the site and moved the camping areas further back and across away from the noisy road. The location is actually lovely with good walks across the cliffs to nearby beaches.
Sadly we would not consider returning.

Visited end of July 2010, site very clean with friendly helpful staff. Toilet blocks were clean and tidy. You may have to queue a while for the showers though. The girls enjoyed the kids park, also on the site was giant jenga and giant draughts games ! Excellent views of the sea from the site (as became known as 'telly tubby hill ')
A ten minute stroll into east Runton took us to the beach which is great for swimming and crabbing. The village itself has a small supermarket a fish n chip shop, a pub with entertainment and FREE pool table also bingo on a Sunday evening. Cromer and Sheringham are close to the site, with the Coasthopper and other bus companies stopping right outside the site on a very regular basis. All in all a lovely site with great views amazing sunsets and happy kids

Just returned from Woodhill Park and we were pleased with the location, there is lots to do in the area, from crabbing off Cromer Pier to browsing the quaint shops in Sheringham.
Further afield Holt, Holkham and all the little villages along the Coast Road are all worth a visit. With kids, we enjoyed the new Amazona Zoo, its small but very safe and you do get to see the animals up close for feeding times without all the crowds. The Radar Museum at Horning was very interesting and the kids loved the hands on approach to all the fab gadgets.
No trip to Norfolk is complete without a day at Great Yarmouth. Kiss Me Quick and Roller Coasters a plenty.
Woodhill had a great play area, plus open fields for the kids to run about with a big hill at the back for great views. There is a path to the sea which is very enjoyable and easy to manage. There are two shower blocks, one newish with 4 individual units and a bathroom. Most of the time they were clean. Shop had what you needed, all the staff were fab.
We stayed on the standard pitch and this is our only gripe. The pitches are in rows of marked bays, each bay is a little tight, just room for the car and the tent. The tents back onto each other so sometimes the neighbouring conversation is too close making it noisy. We would go again but not on the standard CAR PARK style piches.
The weather. It was lovely, little light rain but mostly dry and sunny. Be warned, the clifftop location is beautiful but the severe wind that pops up now and again is not. It was extremely windy and the tent took a bashing. Plenty of pegs to keep it all safe. Enjoy.

A great site. Sometimes windy, but so is most of Norfolk! Easy to get to Cromer, the Runtons and Sheringham.
Good size pitches with plenty of room between caravans. Lovely clean showers and toilets. Excellent facilities for water and waste.
Our dogs love the dog walking field, we love the efforts to keep the wildflower meadow in good order. There were two families of larks learning to fly while we were visiting.
For the charges it is a great site and we will be happy to visit again in the future.
