We stayed at Searles for 5 days in August 2011. When we arrived we were told to find a pitch in a certain field, for which we were given directions.

The pitches were a bit close together for my liking, but that was the only negative.

The site was huge, fantastic for young children, due to the kids club, entertainment and swimming pool on site. Fully equipped shop also on site, with groceries and souvenirs.

Groceries can be a little overpriced, but there is a Tesco near the main entrance. There is a chip shop and restaurant, bike hire, playgrounds, clean toilet and showers.

The town and beach are very nearby and have all sorts of the usual attractions, ( sea life centre, fairground, indoor play area, amusements etc. ) Great place to holiday with young children.

This was our first time camping here, having previously stayed in the sites caravans.

We arrived saturday, and had to queue for 20 mins to be given our pitch details, we were on no 55 which was big enough for our 7 by 7 tent and car, even though it was a 5 by 5 pitch.

Site was clean as were shower blocks, the new ones are better near the tourers, the camping showers in the old block stopped evry 10 seconds and had to keep pressing button!

Our pitch was thankfully dry as there was about 10% grass and the rest just dust/soil.

A short stroll to the beach, kids took their bikes so we had some nice rides up to the lovely beach of old hunstanton.

We didn't use the clubhouse as had good weather so found other things to do, however the kids did enjoy captain custard in the plaza at 5pm some days!

We ate at the american diner at the plaza reasonably priced and tasted fine. Pizzas were nice!

Washing facilities were fine, a bit of queuing at peak times, but that was fine, some friends stayed at the non electric pitch at the bottom pitch who said its much quieter there, tescos is nearby and you could easily walk it, did find the prices a bit more but that's quite usual in seaside towns.

The indoor pool was nice and warm, could of been cleaner though, was a bit cloudy! very busy in chilly weather infact they had to close it off, outdoor pool is cleaner and surprisingly warm.

We found this a friendly site, maybe a bit noisy for us but ideal if you like a lively site, would of course be much quieter outside school hols.

Go karts were good fun, very popular!

Shop on site well stocked, but very expensive, far better to pop to tesco round corner, we spent £40 on what would have been £20 elsewhere!

A nice safe site, my 5 year old cycled around (with us) quite safely as its a 5mph limit.

We had our first camping holiday here with our four children and all I can say is WOW! We were down the end near the 'old' toilet block but they were very clean loadsa hot water and even though the site was full never had to queue for anything (apart from fish n chips! But they were worth the wait!)

We used the outdoor pools which were nice and clean and everyone on the site was very friendly. Even had an visit from 'Captain Custard' and even though we are not great fans of 'Holiday Park Entertainment' He was very entertaining and the kids love him!

Nice walk along the prom to Hunstanton Town, Tesco's at the park entrance and sainsburys within walking distance,

Been looking around for another site to try before the end of the season but finding it hard to find anywhere that looks as good as Searles!

Will definitely be visiting again.

Our 3rd year running on this sites still the same clean and well maintained as ever.

The site is well located for shops and beach (beach near the sites not dog friendly so head to old hunstanton beach is far better golden sand and goes for miles).

Tesco's about 10 mins walk there's a on site costcutter that's sell about everything you could need. A great 'chippy' very nice fish n chips sold here if you have kids try the fish bites my daughter loved them.

The pool outdoor is now heated and is very warm never had to use the indoor as outdoor was warmer. The club is clean and does have live bands (some nights)and a entertainment team preferred the live bands as the searles teams are so so but for the bar prices you would expect better entertainment.

Just returned from a 8 night stay. The shower block was ok, showers were hot, but felt I had to wear my crocs whilst in the shower. part from that they were clean, and considering it was a very busy site I never had to queue.

Pitches were on the cramped side, and not a lot of room for your car to be near your caravan.

The entertainment was brilliant, there was always something for the family to do, and the clubhouse entertainment was excellent. It was lovely being so close to the beach, which really was in walking distance.

Even though I have had a few groans, I will come back as it was excellent for my kids, hardly saw them as they loved the play park and the pool.

We stayed with our motorhome and awning for 8 nights (2 adults and 2 kids - ages 10 and 7yrs). As it was not a drive-away awning we were dependent on our bikes and public transport to get about. As other reviewers have commented the site is so well situated this wasn't too much of a problem.

Kids loved the site, we played tennis (very reasonable) had a go on the driving range and umpteen goes on the crazy golf! Had one night in the Sundowner disco and one night at the Country Club steak night. All excellent! Would agree with other comments re the pools - the outside is nicer. The indoor pool felt mucky to us!

We had a lovely full service pitch (bit tricky putting in tent pegs for awning which was on that plastic matting stuff which was a bit hard on your feet).

The shower/toilet facilities are excellent and plenty of them (large shower cubicles with plenty of room for clothes etc, underfloor heating - radio 2 in the background and individual wash sinks with electric sockets for your own hairdryer/straighteners - though there is also a wall dryer free of charge).

The only negative thing I have to say is the push button showers only stayed on for 3 seconds which reduced showering to a one handed operation - tricky at the best of times but I did hear parents trying to wash younger kids which sounded virtually impossible!)

All the staff were absolutely excellent and very welcoming - faultless!

We weren't too impressed with Hunstanton I'm afraid (but we are from Cayton Bay Scarborough so I'm afraid any beach/seaside town has a lot to live up to for us). The beach houses all along the front are fascinating - clearly Hunstanton have absolutely no planning rules whatsoever!

We did visit Snettisham Park by bus which we all thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend (excellent cake and venison for the BBQ!).

Would definitely visit Searles again and recommend to others but I think it is worth having a car to see more of the area as Hunstanton itself doesn't have a lot to offer - that said it did keep us busy for a week!

Not my favourite place on earth and yet every year we are back for a night or two because it is clean, well organised and practically on the beach.

Everything you need for a family break is there, albeit quite expensive, as it is practically a holiday village rather than a campsite.

I suspect we'll continue to pitch up once a year for ever as long as the kids don't try and make me attend the entertainments :-D.

Searles does what it sets out to do very well. It's no wonder that it is so popular.

We chose to visit Searles with our tent as the facilities are good and location great. Once you arrive you don't need to use the car again! Easy walk to the beach, stroll along the prom, walk to town and pop out of the main gate to Tesco!

The site was very quiet when we arrived and check-in was quick, easy and friendly. We were advised that the tent area would get busier over the weekend and it sure did! However the toilet blocks stayed clean throughout our stay, plenty of hot water for showers and good washing up facilities.

Outdoor pool was lovely and warm, indoor pool slightly refreshing but all very clean. Bit disappointed that waterslide was only open for short 15 min spells. Take your own folding chairs to outside pool if you don't want to sit on the grass. Loungers and chairs are in short supply even at quieter times!

Tennis court just £3 to hire and these were in good condition. Had an enjoyable meal in the Country Club on Saturday night (Steak night). Service was quick and staff very friendly.

Our Mains Serviced Pitch had plenty of space but we were disappointed that it was 90% bare earth and hardstanding blocks with just a narrow strip of grass around the outside. Mature hedges do give a bit of privacy but don't stop the noise!

This is marketed as a family park but at gone midnight on the first night security were asking neighbours to keep the noise down, the second night there was noise, loud talking, amorous campers and fellow campers bellowing 'cut the noise'. Yes Security were making their rounds too! On our last night we got back to the tent at 11. 00pm to hear a tent 2 rows away with the A-Team or something similar booming out of their TV. Then at gone midnight cars revving, and from 4 or 5 pitches away, constant loud and foul language until gone 1am.

All in all, good facilities, friendly staff, great location, fantastic weather, unlucky with pitch allocation on this occasion but let down by some loutish behaviour late at night.

We stayed at this site whilst visiting family in Norfolk. On arrival pretty quick check in at reception. But the access road to the touring part of the site is quite windey & tight in places (when you have an 8m caravan)the touring side of the site is at the end of the site, its mainly static caravans which you have to drive past all them to get to the touring side.

Once at the touring side we found our pitch, again tight access to get into the gravelled area. But I noticed the EHU & water point wasn't to one side of the pitch so you had plenty of room to manoeuvre, it was quarter of the way into the pitch making reversing more difficult, with privet hedges in front also. We got there in the end. Set up camp no problems.

Toilet cleaned regularly, shop was well stocked up, run by costcutter. Sold everything.

Outdoor pool was good, apart from the millions of green flies knocking about driving you crazy, Bar was expensive £8 for a bulmers cider & white wine & soda. I also thought that there was rules for the staff & rules for the guests, my family & I were sat around the pool having a few drinks in the sun, there was a sign outside the bar entrance saying ' no wet swimwear & t shirts must be worn' fair enough, having forgot my t shirt, my wife was going to the bar for us, then I noticed guests getting served with no t shirts on, so I tried it & got served no problem, an hour or 2 passed & then the pool closed so the life guards asked us to take our drinks inside, so we did no problem, as we were finishing our drinks off, the barman came over to ask me to put my shirt on, and I replied I didn't have one with me but were going now, just at that, the lifeguards came into the bar area dripping wet from messing around in the pool, water all over the wooden floor, but yet nothing was said. Most annoying!

Tesco shop & garage only 1 minute drive away.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay and we really enjoyed it, it is our first visit to a big site and we will definitely be returning.

On arrival at reception we had the route to our pitch highlighted to us on the site map, we were located on pitch 319 in the paddocks field, which is a large serviced pitch area with a mixture of tourers, campers and tents, there was water and waste disposal points close by, and a toilet/shower block a short walk, the shower block was well kept and clean but there is no temp control and my shower was far too hot.

The site itself is very well kept, I was impressed by the upkeep, there was always people strimming the grass, servicing the pitched after people had left, there are outdoor play areas for the kids to play in.

There is a hire shop on site, we wanted to hire a 4 person kart but they are only available to hire in half hour intervals, there were bikes available to hire too, we will definitely be taking our own next time we go.

There was also a laundrette, chippy and supermarket, the supermarket was well stocked if a little pricey, we used the tesco just outside the main entrance.

Across the road is the main plaza which houses the arcades, indoor play area (chargeable) American diner, indoor and outdoor pools, the gym and the mariners bar/restaurant and sundowner bar.

We ate at the mariners 3 times during our stay and the food was good if slightly overpriced, the indoor pool was fine if a little cold, the outdoor pools were a lot warmer then I expected, actually warmer then the indoor pool, my only moan was that the slide was out of order.

The entertainment was great from the kids through to the main show especially the Celtic dream show which we thought was brilliant.

The site is right next to the beach where we talk a walk and enjoyed the location of the park is great.

I would thoroughly recommend this site and we will definitely be going again, I hope when we go to Mullion in August that its as good!
