Twice in july 03 Suuny Hunny being only 90mins up the road on a good day after reading the reviews thought we would give it a go nice level piches in the stables field(ask for that Field if you have hay fever or an odd shaped tent like us because if the scented bush hedges). Hot Showers lovely and clean no queing we didnt do the club because we wont leave the dog alone unlike some will try that when we go on the 23rd july dog on his hols to kennels will update this then. lovely postion for the stables field u can hear the sea one minor moan the reception staff could issue bin bags on booking in it became quite frustrating looking for shopping bags to put the rubbish in more bin areas on he camping field would be good to. wuold we go again we are 23rd of july for 4 nights and the August bank holiday weekend. As for value u at £19 a night hi season for up to eight people and the dog with the use of pools bbq entertainment it aint bad think how much it would cost 8 people to go swimming Perhaps Campsite could organise a rally there it would be a nice place for one.

May and July 2003 Excellent everything!
Great clubhouse; kids loved the entertainment and my children (8, 4, 2) certainly didn't understand any of the risque elements (they completely passed me by too!)
Pool, toilets, showers all excellently maintained (second time though the shower water was scalding and there's no way to choose your own heat level, so this was a major problem trying to shower the little ones).
The shop is really well stocked and prices not as bad as our local village shop. Tesco a couple of minutes walk away for a big shop if you need it.
This last time we were situated next to a picnic area which was great for the bbq.
There is a stream flowing through the site with ducks and frogs which the children loved. Also a nice walk into Hunstanton which is lovely (Searles also have a road train). The surrounding area is beautiful too with many lovely little seaside towns to visit.
This site was our first caravanning experience and it really could not be faulted. We had no problems with noise or size of pitch (although we have a big tourer and were sited near the end of the site).
I paid for the booking by credit card and for purchases at the shop by credit card - although cash can be obtained from Tesco just over the road.
Will definitely return next year with the half dozen or so other caravans from the village we went with this year.

June 2003 Visited Searles after reading the recommendations on the website and must say that I was disappointed. Whilst I must agree that the facilities were good and very clean I felt that the site in general had some problems. On arrival I noticed that each pitch was surrounded by hedges which I thought was a good idea - until we tried to pitch our tent. Don't have the largest tent in the world, but it was a struggle to get the guy ropes out without going into the "road". Also, by marking out each pitch with hedging it was possible to put tents quite close together. This caused problems with the guy in the tent behind us sitting up until 3am talking very loudly (bit of a joke after he had called the police because someone was letting off fire works and were keeping his kids awake) and keeping everyone in close proximity awake. Entertainment in the bar was quite risque, especially as it was aimed for the younger generation. Certainly wasn't suitable for before 9pm with all the young children sat in front of the stage. If you don't like large, busy sites, then this site is not for you. If you like paying by debit/credit card then Hunstanton is not for you. I have never used so much case in one day.

April 2003 Searles used to be a favourite site of my girlfriend and I when we used to go camping about eight years ago. Well, my girlfriend eventually became my wife, and we recently decided to buy another tent and introduce our young son to the joys of camping. We chose Searles as our first destination, as we had high expectations of the site. We were not disappointed. The tent pitches were excellent, the toilets / showers spotless, the staff were very helpful & friendly, the food in the restaurant was excellent, and there are enough things to do on site to keep anyone occupied. It's just a pity the weather wasn't a little better! We will definitely be back soon. Highly Recommended.

various over 23 years I have visited this site so many times over the years and have seen so many changes, but no matter how big it gets it never loses it's charm or High High Standards. This is a wonderful (still family run) site for anyone to visit. Yes it has the Clubhouse and the entertainment but you don't have to use it to enjoy your stay at Searles. Obviously because of the facilities available it can be quite expensive, but it really is well worth it here because unlike on Haven or other large sites everything else at Searles is of such high standard.
The site is kept spotless and the staff are really friendly and helpful. When we first started visiting Searles the tourer field was just a circle with caravans around the edge and a childrens play area in the middle and the camping field was well just a field. I loved it as a kid and never wanted to leave, we now the same problem with our 4 year old. There are plenty of safe play areas for the kids to play.
All the pitches on the camping field are well laid out and are all hedged, they are level pitches and are WELL drained (believe me I've been there many a time when the heavens have really opened!!!!) For Tourers they offer the usual pitch preferences ie standard, electric, hardstanding and of course your all singing all dancing electric, water, waste and sat TV!!
The toilet and shower blocks are kept spotless and there are plenty showers available so you shouldn't have to wait in a queue to shower in the morning (isn't that the worst thing ever!!!!!)
The site shop is very well stocked and isn't that over priced really but last year a brand new Tescos opened just outside the site so the prices may have come down a bit, I'll let you know we are off there again on the 22nd April. Theres also a hire shop, fish & chip shop, (which does alot more than fish & chips) a laundrette, plenty of places to eat, fishing lake, golf course, bowling green and the ability to make great holidays.
Hunstanton it's self is a lovely seaside resort that hasn't got too commersialised over the years, and you are also well based to visit the surrounding Norfolk coastline and countryside (we like Sherringham and theres a great steam railway there too)
So whether you want a quiet holiday or a fun packed holiday I'm sure you will enjoy your stay at Searles.

April 1999 First of all I don't do clubhouses because I don't like cheesey music or gold sandals. Neither do I like sites where statics are hired to the general public as it attracts the gold joolery and staffordshire bull terrier brigade. Neither did I appreciate the 40 yr old thug that encouraged his children to play catch with a 2p coin in the swimming pool egged on by the attendant - they could have had somebody's eye out. Having said that the camping field at Searles is very good and the facilities are excellent as is the location - almost on the beach. I loved Hunstanton itself - very quaint with the old funfair complete with original fifties helter-skelter. The walk along sea wall from Searles to the town centre is wonderful and I particularly liked the pub at the top of the hill where you could sit outside and overlook the town and sea.
