We stayed here the first weekend in april so it was a bit cold through the night, there was a mix up with checking in, we were went to the reception queued for a while only to be told we were checking in at the wardens office. When we got there the warden had all our checking in papers ready from reading our number plate.
When we got set up on our pitch we were in an ideal position right next to dishwashing area, toilet block and the play area.
My daughter enjoyed the play area so much we hardly saw her. The pool was excellent, the indoor one, we didn't use the outdoor pools a the were closed and b it was not warm enough. The entertainment block was huge with bars and restaurants. The evenings entertainment was a bit cheesy but enjoyable.
There is a well stocked supermarket on site but very pricey, there is a Tesco store right outside the main entrance.
Overall we found our weekend a real pleasure and will definitely be booking this site again

Searles has a large touring site with good pitches, many are hard standing with hedges either side. Pitches can be expensive and bear in mind that check in is 2pm. Our pitch was located on The Paddocks a the very back of the site away from the main area (10 minute walk) BUT this area is nearest to the Country Club and golf if you are going there for that reason this would be a good location for you. The Paddocks looks like quite a new area to me as the hedges were not yet established and therefore offered no shelter or privacy. The toilet/shower blocks were good and were not too far away. Each pitch had a night light on the hook up however we found this annoying as it shone directly into the children's sleeping area of our caravan.
The indoor pool is a fairly good size (there is a limit of max 40 people at a time) and was warm with good changing facilities and showers. The outdoor pool with slide and separate toddler area looks like something my kids would love in the summer.
There are 2 good play areas located in the touring areas better suited to age 4+. The indoor soft play area was larger than I expected and for free was a great bonus, beware of the cost of drinks here though- it was £1. 95 EACH for a fruit shoot or a small plastic cup of hot chocolate (like the pack of 10 for £1 in Poundland!)
The food on site looked quite reasonably priced, I cannot comment on the quality as we dined off site.
The entertainment was adequate and suitable for all, plenty of seating in both venues, plenty of staff serving etc
There are 2 arcade areas which offer more traditional games and 2p machines etc rather than the more up to date ones. There is also an indoor area with 3 pool tables, giant connect 4, table tennis and plastic ten pin bowling.
There is crazy golf on site (£2 adult/£1 child) and go kart and bike hire- £5 for a 1/2hr on a 2 seater go kart I believe.
There is a Tesco with cafe on the opposite side of the road from the main entrance which is much cheaper than the on site shop of course.
The Searles land train will take you from the site to the main Hunstanton town (by the Princess Theatre) for £2 per person, it runs every half an hour. You can also catch it for the return journey. If not it is quite a walk (45min-1hr) but pleasant along through the fun fair and along the sea front where you will find the Sea Life centre, Oasis swimming and skating centre, crazy golf, amusements and food stalls etc There are lots of cafes/pubs and individual shops in the main town area- Sainsburys, Mackays, Boots are the main 'branded' ones.
NEGATIVES: The Searles website mentions Silk Road chinese takeaway on site but we never saw this or a building where it could possibly be located. The fish and chip shop had quite limited opening hours for our liking.
Some of the areas of the stream were full of rubbish which is a shame for the wildlife.
The toilets in Captain Willies soft play were not nice, dirty with no soap or paper towels only a normal hand towel thrown on top of the waste bin- gross! I am sure it was the same towel for the duration of our 3 day stay.
The dedicated tourer check in was closed, ourselves and several other guests checking in rang the number on the board to find out what was happening only to be told we had to check in at the entrance to the main site- something none of us were told so we had to walk back up to that end of the site. Such a shame the lady on reception had to be so rude and condescending in tone!
OVERALL: Great location, good site with above average facilities, would visit again IF the price is right.

This was our first outing with a caravan, having been avid campers for a while. We booked online for 3 nights on a super pitch for a bargain amount of money, our pitch was ideal - very sheltered and with all the desirable bits on the bollard. We found upon arrival that all facilities except the indoor pool were closed due to a private party booking - not ideal with a 3 year old. The lady on reception said we should have been informed, but somehow we were missed, this was my only gripe on an otherwise enjoyable trip. The toilet block was spotless and toasty warm, which was nice when it was chilly outside.
The proximity of the beach was a big plus to us, letting our greyhound run freely on the expansive sands. As it was out of season, quite a lot of the local places were closed, but there was still plenty of shops / eateries in the town.
We liked the site so much, we stayed for another night.
The low rating for site facilities was purely due to them being closed, otherwise it would probably be another 10/10.
We will be returning in the summer, and will report on the facilities.

Booked initially for one night but ended up staying for three.
We had a hard standing fully serviced pitch that had a good bit of grass as well. It was a spacious pitch surrounded on three sides by hedges. The touring part is the nearest we have been on to a foreign site very well set out. The toilet blocks were large, very clean, and the showers were the push button type, powerful, hot and free. The blocks were also under floored heated.
There were a couple of good sized kids play areas that were fenced off.
There was also a motorhome service area which in our experience seems to be a rarity in this country.
On site there is a bowling green. A nine hole golf course, a driving range, tennis courts, a small fishing lake, a club house (golf club style) although they call it 'a country club', a hire shop, chippy, supermarket, and a bars / entertainment area. We had a snack in one of the restaurants that wasn't too expensive but they did use frozen chips that were quite tasteless. I was going to say that the beer was expensive at £3. 40 for a pint of Johns but after paying the same at a pub in the town I suppose it wasn't too bad.
They did show sky sports in one of the bars as well.
Its a short walk to the beach which is quite sandy when the tide is out but shingly when its in but the one nearest to the touring part lets dogs on all year.
Its about a 10 minute walk into the town where there are a few asmusment arcades, pubs and cafes etc, the walk along the seafront also passes an amusement park.
There is a Tesco across the road from the rear entrance.
It is expensive but you get what you pay for.
Will definitely return

Just had 6 nights at Searles for New Year. We arrived on 27th December. There wasn't much open on site, the indoor pool and the Country Club were open the main facilities didn't open until 29th, even then not all the facitities opened. The supermarket was closed, non of the cafe's in the Piazza were open. The site was quite busy from the 29th with tourer's, motorhomes, static and lodges being occupied. I think there should be more open esp as your paying top premium for touring pitches, as much as you would in summer.
I have to agree that the showers are looking a bit dated. The showers in the Men's were powerful and warm, push button type but the water seemed to last ages. My wife said the showers in the Women's were rubbish as only a trickle of water came out and you had to keep pressing the button, which she found awkward when washing her hair.
There were performances from the on site entertainment team on three nights, songs from the charts, songs from the shows and songs from the variety shows. I don't think they need to do this every night. A quiz with disco and maybe karaoke would have gone down just as well on one of the nights as most of the people there were up for a laugh.
That said we did enjoy the New Year's Eve party. There was a hot and cold buffet, which might not be everyone's choice, but we had plenty to eat. There was kids entertainment, which did go on a bit long. Once the disco started it was a Great night. The DJ was brilliant.
We would go again in summer but I'm not sure about New Year.

Lovely site, very well kept and good facilities on site.
Probably very good for families with children as there are lots to do.
This is our third visit and all have been very good.
Negatives
None really except that the showers are now looking very very tired, the grouting in the tiles looks a bit grubby and the wooden side panels are looking quite worn at the bottom.
However they were spotlessly clean at all times.

We have camped at Searles for 4 years now, and have always had a good holiday, whatever the weather throws at us.
Our tent is the Meridian 10, so we need plenty of room, and The Paddock is just perfect for the larger tent, with space for at least one car and still room for the children to play swingball.
The site is always busy, but is kept spotlessly clean, with ground staff continually cleaning the site and looking after the pitches. There are plenty of shower/toilet blocks, and dishwashing areas, which are all cleaned regularly. The showers are free, and are of the push-button type, and are always warm, with underfloor heating and music while you shower!.
The site is very handy for the beach, which is just across the road. There is a well stocked shop, laundry, chippy and various other food outlets on the site. Bike hire and crazy golf are also there, and are priced reasonably. It has a nice indoor/outdoor pool area, but we have been turned away from the indoor pool twice because it was full.
Hunstanton is a lovely holiday destination, with plenty to do, although it has definitely got busier over the 4 years we have been visiting.
Close by are Norfolk Lavender and Sandringham, both worth having a look at.
There is a Tesco store right outside the entrance to the site, and funfair and Sea Life Centre within a few minutes walk.
Overall, it is a very nice site in a good position, with plenty to do on and off the park.

Took the grand kids to this site during the summer holidays. This was an ideal site for families. A mixture of statics, Tourers and campers. The facilities were good. There is a Tesco at the top of the main drive. The beach was close by. It felt safe which is important when you have youngsters. Pitch was a full serviced plot. Overall a good experience.
The whole place is geared up for a good family experience. Having not been to Norfolk previously we found the area really nice. The land train from the site takes you on a your of the town.

This was my first time camping after always swearing I would never camp, and it certainly didn't put me off!
We got a great deal on their website at £10 pn off the usual tariff! This was great value as there was 7 of us in our large tent, and no additional person charges like you would normally pay.
The non electric pitches are the furthest from the clubhouse/pool, but it was only a 5 minute walk.
The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived and checked in, and throughout our stay. My daughter left her makeup bag in the changing rooms, and everyone she asked was most helpful, even taking her address in case it turned up after we left - however she was soon reunited with it!
The pool is fantastic, with toddler pool and fountain type play area and we spent the majority of our stay in the outdoor pool being blessed with beautiful weather. The indoor pool is also nice. There are some comments that the changing facilities are not great, however we were impressed and chose to shower here, rather then use the slightly outdated block on the stables field where the non electric pitches are located.
The camp shop is very well stocked, and the fish and chip shop was good value (although very busy and I felt so sorry for the young girl who seemed to be running it single handedly!)
The location is excellent, just a 10 min walk along the seafront takes you to the heart of Hunstanton - although there seems to be a lack of proper pubs in the vicinity! There is plenty to do for all ages in Hunstanton and we had a wonderful time on the day we spent in the town.
We didn't make use of the majority of the other facilities offered on site, choosing to spend time at the tent, but there certainly was a good vareity on offer.
We will certainly look to come back to Searles next year, as its an ideal site for families with young children.

When we arrived we thought this site would be too busy, it is a really big site. But when your in does not feel over crowded, the site is a stones through from beach and a huge long walk along the front.
The facilities are a bit worn but clean.
The pool was busy as the weather was so good but is a great place.
The hard standing pitches have everything, some are a bit small so make sure you get right size. Staff are all really nice and helpful.
This is a great place for things to do as there are loads going on.
The chip shop sells the best chips ive ever had,
We will be going back next year.
