Lovely campsite right next to a beautiful long sandy Beach which does also mean it can be a little windy at times.

Visited with my husband and 2 sons aged 11 and 13.

Hubby was happy as there is a golf course on the site.

The kids were happy with all of the excellent entertainment laid on we hardly saw them and had to drag them off the site to visit the beach.

There is a fair at the beach which is a bit expensive but you don't get any noise from it as it is further down the beach.

We went up to the evening entertainment a couple of times and found it very good.

Tesco close by but there is also a very well stocked shop on site.

Toilets and showers old but very clean.

Area very good for cycling.

Been several years running - pitching in the hedges area. Normally part of a group of 3 families, 3 pitches plus pup tents. Very large tent pitches with a private feel. 6 man and 2 man pop up plus a car down the side. We backed onto the river, so did not feel crowded. It is what it is. A commercial site. So maybe noisy for some. However the toilets and showers have always been clean, and we have never experienced a queue.

The entertainment was ropey, upgraded this year. Again - it is what it is. Expensive to drink there though you don't have to go to the club if you don't want.

The kids love it as it feels very safe and they go exploring.

We've booked again for next year. We pre book before we leave and reserve the numbered pitches that take our fancy!

Staff around the site have always been helpful and friendly.

One down side is the admin in the main reception area - very very VERY slow.

Oh - it also helps that is close to the North Norfolk coastal road. Get out there and explore!

Returned here for a week during the children's summer holidays. Nothing has majorly changed since my last review.

However I did find out the following.

We orginally wanted an EHU pitch. When I called to book, I was told no EHU left at all for the week I required and anyway our tent would not fit onto the pitch. I fully accepted this and booked the same pitch we'd had the yr before. We had to pay a surcharge to secure that particular pitch which we liked as it was on the end. I made my booking early Jan for an August stay. Whilst on site I chatted with several others on EHU both in the hedges and in our field, all who'd booked later than us and several had tents larger than ours. Was annoyed and asked at reception as to why they'd been able to book EHU after I'd asked and been told N/A. Was told it was due to cancellations. This I find hard to believe.

Whilst our toilet block was very nice as was the ones in the middle of the tourers, the one right by the main tent field looked tatty and neglected compared to the others.

Ours had toilets with sinks enclosed, theirs didn't. Ours had privacy sinks, theirs didn't. And our washing up area was more spacious. Also our looked cleaner, but that maybe down to the fact more people used the tent toilet facilities than those in tourers who had their own facilities.

I also found out about the freezing of ice blocks for those without EHU. You can freeze them in the shop, but it's a very hit and miss system. Esp as they do not explain that you will not get your own blocks returned. The not being told part was very annoying as we have thin blocks that fit into our box better. When we first left the blocks we asked for a carrier bag to put them and wrote our name all over the bag (blocks also named) At no point did the assistant query what we was doing, nor point out it was pointless. We only discovered this when we returned the next morning and was told sorry. We wasn't the only camper not be told and the other camper was also upset. So a useful service so long as you are made aware of the facts beforehand.

We enjoyed our stay at Searle and may return however the issue with the ice blocks and a problem with booking means we'll think before booking. This is a shame as this is the first site we've returned to.

The receptionist couldn't have been more accommodating as we changed our minds about where we wanted to pitch twice! There are loads of EHU plots all separated by hedges, with openings straight onto the road and also the neighbouring plots! This horrified me as we have 2 small children that I was sure we would either lose and the thought of cars constantly going by filled me with fear! So on this note I would say stay clear of the EHU plots if you have wandering children.

They do have a large open field right at the back of the resort that they open up on busy periods, this was ideal as it was safe with ample space for the kids to play games etc and we could relax.

Shower block was in my opinion dirty and the toilets were not good either. Childrens entertainer was good and very patient and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the evenings, indoor and outdoor pools were also great.

The site has a clubhouse, bar, restaurants, well-equipped shop, indoor and outdoor pools, launderette and play parks, as well as the expected toilets and showerblocks. There's also a large Tesco supermarket within half a mile of the site entrance.

The facilities were generally pretty clean and well-maintained. The clubhouse was impossible to find a seat in unless you arrived as soon as the doors opened.

We stayed in The Paddock which is where the oversized pitches are. However the pitches were more than a little on the small side - most tents were only a metre apart, and guylines were often pegged on the lines marking out the pitches. It felt very overcrowded. The Paddock was also very close to the seafront which meant that it was windy and quite exposed (on our last night there the caravan next door had its awning ripped off).

We had very noisy neighbours who had the TV on well after 11pm at night on more than one occasion. Because of the close proximity to one another you had very little privacy and could hear conversations between other late in to the night.

The pools where very pleasant, although because of the bad weather the indoor pool was very busy and you had to wait quite a while to get in as they operated a 1-in-1-out policy once 40 people were in the pool.

We come every year ( almost ) to searles however we feel it does need a revamp, the pool is looking a bit tired, was very expensive however that is expected, not good value for money

It was very crowded, and there did not seem to be a sense of control~ we left after 3 days, staff are ok,

It is a nice campsite with adequate facilities however when you are paying the amount we paid you would expect there to be some other free things not just the pool

This was the second visit for us, having stayed for a week at New Year. We returned because of the closeness to the beach, excellent indoor children's play area and friendly staff. We thought we'd like to try it in the warm this time!

We had a super-pitch, covered on three sides by large hedges, sadly this didn't stop the noise coming from a static close to our pitch, music on before going out etc. I paid the deposit for the family bathroom as we have a two year old, however the floor was quickly waterlogged and was in fact separating from the concrete below, very slippy too.

Good entertainment and large evening venue, restaurant tried very hard and we had some nice meals here, central atrium seems a bit a bit of a wasted space though, no real focus to it.

We went the week before the school holidays, however on the Friday night there was a huge influx of enormous RV's, motorhomes and caravans. We were glad to be leaving the next day, glad that we can still take holidays in term time.

After two visits I think we've seen everything there is to see in this area, leave it a while until we return.

Myself and my family have just returned today from a week at Searles and we are all very very happy. What a lovely place this is!

On arrival check-in was quick and easy and reception staff very friendly. I booked a standard EHU plot plus an extra car which cost £230 which I thought was fantastic for this time of year. When we arrived on our plot we realised they had given us one of the largest plots which are normally priced at £30 more a week because we needed the room for the extra car. We were enclosed by 3 hedges and a fence which blocked off the river. If you do get a plot by the river and you have children, they will love this as every morning, on the dot at 8.30am, saw the arrival of Mummy duck and 6 babies coming for their breakfast.

If you use the shower facilities near the hedges and wash way sites use the 3rd shower down on the right. (Ladies only) The showers operate on a push-button system and only stay on for 5 seconds, but in this shower you can push the button in and turn it right and it sticks so you get constant hot water! These facilities were fabulous. Regulary cleaned and never had to wait. Also plugs in every cubicle so no having to pay 20p to use the hairdryer!

The site in general is beatiful. Well kept lawns and flowers, etc .

My partner used the fishing lakes which are priced at £1 per hour. There are 2 lakes which are quite small but he got some beautiful fish from there.

The supermarket on site is well stocked but expensive as you'd imagine so only use this when Tesco is shut. Tesco is situated opposite the park entrance so very convenient.

There are plenty of eateries on site also. Theres a chippy, chinese, pizzas, italian and all your normal grub. We only ate on site once at Stripes which is in the plaza. We had a 12inch pizza, 3 slices of cheesy garlic bread, a huge bowl of chips and 2 kids happy-meals and it was £18, which we thought was very good. And it was beautiful too.

The alcohol on the other hand is quite expensive. Pints are £3.60. We tended to stock up from Tesco and drink the majority before going out in the evening.

There are 2 bars with entertainment. The Mariners and The Sundowner. We didn't use The Mariners as it was adult entertainment and we had a 3 and 4 yr old with us. The Sundowner was fab. From 7pm its a scream in there. There's a club called the tiny mites club from 7 till half past. The entertainer, Bernie, is fabulous with the children. She has a very annoying voice mind, but the kids love her. She has so much enthusiasm and clearly loves what she does. Then for the rest of the evening until 11pm there is a variety of entertainment from dancing competitions, to magicicians, to cabaret shows. We watched the Steptacular show, the Variety show and the Schools out show. These ARE NOT to be missed. The girls are fantastic and sooo friendly. We thouroughly enjoyed watching them.

As for the area of Hunstanton, its beautiful. We walked down the promenade to the town centre twice, and when its not windy its such a beautiful walk. A well priced fairground which the kids loved and we visited the sea life sanctuary too. If you do go here buy the tickets from reception at Searles as they do discounts.

We would of liked to go on the infamous Wash Monster which is a sea tour on a Searles boat. It was £12 per adult and £7 for kids for a 30min tour so too expensive for us, but apparently very enjoyable.

On a whole, a fantastic holiday. Were going back in October as I won a free 4 day holiday in a ladies pool tournament so really looking forward to that.

An excellent site, can't give it enough credit.

Toilet/shower facilities are fantastic and pitches spacious. Pitches are slightly more expensive then other sights but well worth it.

Great indoor/outdoor pool area's, good entertainment also.A great place for people of all ages, the site has plenty to offer with 2 different bars, fish shop, mini market, hire shop, laundrette etc.

Hunstanton itself is a gorgeous seaside town which isn't the typical in your face resort with too many amusement arcades, it seems to get the balance right and provides some great places to eat in the town. Tesco suppermarket within walking distance from the site also.

Will definitely be returning again and again

Very nice site and although may seem a little expensive @ £35 per night (Motorhome with 2 adults) we were left wanting for nothing. The ammenities were first class with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, entertainment for adults and children, all facilities- toilets and showers etc were very clean and tidy. Very close to beach and local shops (Tescos only 100yds away), but also well stocked shop on site. Various eating places on site to suit all tastes ranging from fish & chips to Chinese and pasta dishes. Hunstanton itself impressed us both being very clean and tidy with a variety of shops and entertaiment all within easy walking distance of the site. Would not hesitate to stay again in the future.
