We've just come back from our third stay at Searles this year - which says it all, really. We have found it the ideal place for my adult brother-in-law who has learning difficulties.
To ensure peace and quiet we have preferred to go out of season, but this last weekend the site filled almost to capacity and to our surprise there was almost no problem with noise or overcrowding, and the loo blocks were still immaculately clean. The maintenance team keep the whole site spotless even cleaning up the dog poo.
The facilities are excellent with plenty to do - swimming, basketball, mini golf, and a land train into Hunstanton. Best of all for my brother-in-law is the relaxed attitude towards special needs, particularly by the entertainments team who really encourage participation.
As well as the excellent campsite shop, there is a Tesco by the entrance, which makes it so simple to look after the necessities! We will certainly be going back again (and again.)

We visited Searles for a weekend break in August peak season. The cost was rather dear but I suppose thisis normal for such a site.We really are in 2 minds over this site, as it had its good points but also a few negatives for us.
Firstly we found check-in for tourers a bit of a pain. There is nowhere to park up your tourer near reception which is at the entry to the park but yet there was a queue to check-in, so therefore we had to park up where we were not supposed to, to accommodate the queue. There is a small space by the actual touring office to park but yet you do not actually check-in at the touring office! This space was full so parking in a wrong place was not negotiable.
The toilet facilities were very good. They were cleaned regularly & always smelt fresh! Hand soap was always topped up & loo rolls never empty. The showers were large enough & plenty of hot water. There are also free hairdryers & shaver points. Could'nt fault these facilities.
The pitches are slightly questionable. There is a mixture of hardstanding, shingle & grass pitches. We felt that they were slightly small to accommodate a tourer, awning & 1 car. There were larger pitches on The Paddocks but these were mainly grass pitches which are not always suitable for some people.
The entertainment facilities were good for children & the swimming areas have 1 indoor pool & 3 outdoor heated pools.
The shop was very well stocked & reasonably priced.
The site is within walking distance to the beach, although not signposted.
We liked the site but unfortunately hated Hunstanton. Obviously everyone has different tastes, so if you like a seafront full of fairground rides, chip shops & asea that resembles a muddy puddle, then you will like this place. There are some local locations that are of interest & better viewing i.E Wells by the Sea.

Having visited this site as a child many years ago it was nice to return with my children.
The site was very clean and tidy and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
We had a pitch which was enclosed by hedges and were very close to the toilets. The toilets were spotless and there was always music playing night and day whenever you made a visit.
The club looked if it had just recently been refurbished and the decor was lovely. The entertainment was not as good as what we expected as it was done 'inhouse' and if it seemed if there was no cabaret bought in from outside the camp. We visited the carvery on site on the Sunday it was not overpriced and we thoroughly enjoyed it. My only complaint would be that it was expensive to stay there as you can visit other sites around Norfolk for less with the same facilities.

We booked a deluxe tenting pitch for the first week of the school hols 20th July to 27th. Unfortunately that week was a complete wash out weather wise!
The pitch itself was fairly large, we managed to get our 6 berth tent and car on with no problem. We had friends on the pitch beside us as we'd booked together.
The first night was a disaster, both our tents were unable to withstand the downpour and the pitches became waterlogged and muddy. Since we had young children and only lived 40 miles away we retreated home and left the tents to the weather.
Arriving back next day it was no better, so our friends decided to fetch their caravan and used that on their pitch for the rest of the week. We didn't have a caravan so struggled on against the elements.
In the end we only slept under canvas one night out of the 7. The other nights we either went home or crammed into our friends caravan. In that regard our £217 spent on the pitch was wasted, but you can't blame Searles for the weather.
On the plus side the facilities were good. Bar and nightclub was excellent. Good live entertainment for adults and kids. Restaurant nice. A well stocked shop with fresh local produce and really great fish & chip shop.
Toilet blocks were first class, but busy as you'd expect at that time of year. Bike hire for the kids was quite expensive.
The local amenities were close by, good beach and nice little funfair for the kids. And a Tesco supermarket!
To sum up: This would provide a lovely holiday depending on the weather. We were unlucky in that regard. If nothing else it prompted me to buy our first caravan. No more tenting for us!

Is is an excellent site for families. Tesco is a short walk away. Five minutes from the beach, with a little fun fair for kiddies. The weather wasn’t great but we have a really good time, there is evening entertainment, outdoor and indoor pools, you can hire bikes and go karts. The on-site shop was well stocked also. Very well laid out park. Good park for kids to play on. Lovely little stream running at the back of us with ducks and ducklings wandering around the park. A land train would take you to town and beyond. All in all a great site. Would definitely come here again soon.

Had a weekend break. This was our 3rd time at this site. The shower blocks are cleaned at least 3 times a day and are always clean and tidy. Excellent when you have young children. The staff are friendly and helpful. Special mentions for Doug and Ben, both very helpful. There is a shop on site but you always have to queue to get served - very slow. The site is well maintained - clean and tidy On the Electric hook ups there is a light above the boxes which is very bright and if you have to pitch your tent with sleeping compartments at the box end you don't get much sleep. Light need a lower wattage. As always in camping there are a couple of families who feel the need to be as loud as they can. Although there is security patrolling, they don't seem to be around on entertainment room kick out time. Site needs patrolling then. There is a gaming room but there is a lack of change machines unless you only want 2p's. Need more of a variety of change giving machines. Also need a change machine in the laundrette. This is a site that is highly recommended.

We stayed at this site for 2 weeks .We found the staff very helpful and friendly nothing was to much for them. The pitch we had was of good size and we fitted on it comfortably plus the car,our trailer tent is 7m-4.5m so you can see it was a good size.If you have a big tent I would reccomend pitches from 54 to 64 as they are large pitches .Toilets were immaculate throughout our stay. The site had excellent faciilities,a good shop but if you need a supermarket tescos is just minuites away from the site.Entertainment was really good and our children had a fab time, there was plenty for them to do at this site. The beach is a very short walk from the site, whilst we were there water ski-ing championships were on .It is a lovely walk along the seafront into hunstanton .Theres a fantastic chinese takeaway in heacham which is minuites away.Overall a great site and a fab place for a holiday we are certainly going to go again ,one of the best we have been on.

Have mixed feelings about this site, there's loads to do for everyone - swimming, tennis and golf to mention a few - the evening entertainment is great with both family bars and adults only bars for a 'quieter' drink, with a well stocked shop with long opening hours. Showers and toilets were kept clean and never felt crowded even though the site was very very busy (it was a bank holiday weekend). Downsides were that the pitches seemed small - you would not fit a large tent and a car on your pitch - and I struggled to find the dog walk area, some signs would have been useful. The gate to the beach was locked early Saturday evening (we didn't know why) so getting the dogs on the beach was difficult which was a shame as it's a nice walk along the seafront. The weather was dreadful, heavy rain and high winds. We did not stay the full time we were booked for as the winds got even stronger and tents were capsizing - the site were helpful in giving up to date forecasts and advice but as larger tents were not surviving the strong winds we decided to head for home. Hunstanton is a quiet little town with the usual seaside things to do and Norfolk is a lovely county for exploring further but I honestly don't know if I would return to this site - it's great for families with children but I would try to find a slightly more dog friendly site - it's their holiday too!

Stayed at Searles for the May Day Bank Holiday. Good all round site with lots to do and very close to the beach and town. It is quite busy and although there is go-cart and bike hire I felt it was too busy to be safe for children. We had a mains pitch and there was plenty of room on it but concrete under the awning so we didn't get all our pegs in. We were close to the showers, which were adequate but a bit dated but clean on the whole apart from when abused by some messy visitors. Were were also close to the Country Club and the kids and hubby played golf and tennis but there is a dress code for golf, trainers are allowed but you need a collared shirt/polo shirt and trousers, kids got away with cargos. The staff were very helpful and lent us equipment when our pump didn't work and we had no water into our unit, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend as a good family site with lots of amenities and a family atmosphere.

Have just had a brilliant weekend here, our pitch was huge. Toilets were very clean and disabled shower room the best we have been to (you need a radar key to gain access). Even though we waited a long while the fish and chips were cooked for us and were great. The tourer area did seem a way from the main facilities area and pushing our son in his wheelchair seemed to take for ages, but we loved being able to walk into Hunstanton and leave the car behind. Even though the site had a lot of dogs on it they were never a problem, we had left our dog at home and felt quite lost! The only down side and I guess this happens everywhere was the swimming pool the "regular" people hogged the jacuzzi and with our son having cerebral palsy this would have helped his legs relax.that a side we had a great time and would recommend this site to anyone with a disabled person in their party. Basically its a great site and all the staff were very helpful.
