A group of us in caravan and tents have just enjoyed a lovely weekend at this gem of a site.

Checking in on arrival was simple, as we were the first to arrive in our party, we were shown where we were all being pitched. We had hard standing and the tents were pitched opposite on level grass pitches.

The site is nicely laid out and has a separate area for Adults only - I am not sure if this is just for caravans as I saw no tents in this area. All pitches appear to be level and are separated by hedges and small fences.

The amenities block is kept spotless. There are 2 washing up areas with a good supply of hot water.

The site encourages recycling and the different bins are next to the amenities block and these are emptied daily.

It is in the middle of nowhere so is perfect for getting away from the rat race - but Shrewsbury is only 5 miles away should you wish to visit.

Fresh produce when available is sold at reception.

There is a Indian restaurant 1 mile away which does deliver to the campsite - which was brilliant for our party as we all arrived at different times.

We had a fantastic weekend and will use again.

Very pleasant 4 night stay at this site which has new owners who were friendly, obliging and helpful. Watched the night sky and eves dropped on expert in field next door. Fascinating and he is there each month. Whole area is well looked after and there's opportunity to buy eggs and home grown produce. Liked the look of adult only area too and as is true with most pitches they are very generous in there. Thanks, will be returning.

Greater by a very friendly owner. The site was well laid out, and some beautiful planting even at the end of the summer.

Spotless grounds and toilet block. Showers hot and free hairdryer. We chose the site because of its close location to shrewsbury and it's rating.

At £16 a night inc electric I felt it was excellent value for money.

The site accepts dogs and has a nice dog walk, which I noted had a freshly cut path, normally many places leave the dog walk to grow wild but here it was a pleasant walk around.

We were even invited to join the local astronomers who were setting up nearby to check out the night sky.

Even toilet block had flowers and hand cream, nice touch. Fresh produce also available to buy, couldn't get fresher as the owner picked us a cucumber there and then.

We were in the adult only part but the site didn't seem overly noisy or overrun with kids in fact I don't think I saw any.

What would make me give this 10/10? Probably heated flooring in the bathrooms and a nice pub within walking distance. But that's just being picky. Certainly 10/10 for customer service and value for money!

I hardly want to tell you about this gem of a campsite, I'd like to keep it to myself! We stayed in the Adult only section which suited us perfectly. The site is only a few miles from the Oxon Park & Ride to Shrewsbury and there are plenty of other interesting places to visit in the area.

The new owners keep the site very tidy and the pitches are well defined separated by trees and shrubs, there seemed to be a good few hard standings. The shower block was immaculately clean and we too appreciated the fresh flowers along with the slightly quirky shower curtains! The site is possibly more suited to caravans than tents at the moment as the shower block is small so there was sometimes a wait in the mornings for the loos and showers. There was often home grown produce for sale at the entrance.

We ate twice at the New Inn, as recommended by Kat the owner, and found the food superb and portion sizes good. We also bought a take-away from the Chinese by the Park & Ride which was very good.

We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Fabulous site. Really peaceful, just what we needed. Friendly owners immaculately clean showers and toilets. We didn't have children with us so didn't have reason to visit playground area, but judging from the laughter a good place to be. Fresh produce is available on site (home grown). Really enjoyed our stay.

The site is extremely clean and tidy with very good ground for a tent. The shower blocks are immaculate and well looked after. Everyone on the site were very friendly and helpful. Location is good for car or cycles making it great for trips out. Definitely will visit this site again and is highly recommended.

This is a super little site, which is very quiet and peaceful.

The new owners made us very welcome, recommending a pitch which caught the evening sun on the adults field. The pitches are level, and very spacious with hedges for a bit of privacy, and also providing a habitat for lots of birds.

There were nice touches, like garden areas in each section.

The toilet block was immaculately clean, with even a vase of fresh flowers in the ladies!

Although very quiet we were in easy reach of lots to do. Powis Castle is spectacular, and Shrewsbury is a lovely town.

The new owners said they wanted to make improvements, but I'm not sure what could be done to improve the site further!

We were met on arrival by new owner Chris and shown to our pitch where he helped us unhitch and site our Dandy to make the most of the view and the sunshine.

We were in the Adult only section and had a lovely relaxing 12 nights, the pitches are separated by hedges giving a bit of privacy. The shower block/toilets were kept spotlessly clean. The showers are roomy with plenty of hot water.

Both Chris and Kat are very friendly with good knowledge of the area, places to eat and local walks. We went to The New Inn at Baschurch on Kat's recommendation and enjoyed our meal very much.

We had our King Charles with us and found the dog area plenty big enough with the grass kept short around the perimeter of the field for walking and also the middle of the field where the children's play area is.

Both Chris and Kat along with their son were always tidying the area keeping the grass verges and hedges neat and tidy.

There was also a variety of home grown vegetables for sale also freshly laid eggs at a reasonable price.

They do have big plans for the future to improve the site and we look forward to revisiting in the future.

Normally go to this lovely site in our caravan but bought a tent for a bit of fun, had a great time with my sister and brother in law [jayne+pete]. We were recommended to the site a couple of years ago and we have also recommended it to others, nice location, pitches are separated by hedges, toilet block are very clean with good showers and what I like is cubicles with sink [a bit of privacy],

New owners of site are very welcoming and seem to be alway working on keeping the site in excellent condition,

We normally only go for fully serviced sites but found this one and thought we'd give it a go. We were far from disappointed! No up-front payment or even deposit. As soon as we arrived we got a good feeling about this place! Really friendly family (very new owners) who all mucked in (including their teenage son emptying the bins at least twice per day) We were close to the water tap so re-filling wasn't a problem at all. Gloriously peaceful with a great dog walk. TB's immaculate (nice little touches - body lotion/box of tissues etc. ) Easy commute into Shrewsbury and if you need to get any shopping then there's a very local farm shop for BBQ meat and the ENORMOUS co-op isn't far either. One really good thing was that on the day of departure, if they can accommodate a late leave, they only charge £1 per hour. We thought this was a great idea (not everyone wants to stay til 5pm) and wish more sites were the same. We stayed in the 'adults' section and had a most chilled stay! We wish this family lots of luck with their new venture. They have plans to modernise and re-structure the site in places, if visiting the area again we shall be sure to stay here.
