After reading all the reviews on this site,I thought it'd be an ideal one to go for a relaxing couple of nights away. Lovely little site as everyone points out, well looked after, friendly and helpful owners, very clean toilet / shower block.
Just one downside that spoilt our stay and actually forced us to not bother to stay for the 2 nights as planned. The site is situated right next to a busy road, we were on a pitch that backed straight onto it, just a hedge between us and the road.Very nice site. Shame about the location. Won't be returning.

Just returned from a wonderful break at this amazing site. Alan and Pat are two of the friendliest people you could wish to meet. They maintain this site to an exceptional standard.
Good size pitches, beautifully kept. Showers and toilets are spotless. Quiet and peaceful location the ideal place to relax and unwind. Hope to return as soon as possible.

One of our favourite sites. As usual it was busy but with silent nights. The facilities are always spotless and the water is always hot. Thanks Pat and Alan.
Lots to see and places to visit nearby. Not too far from coast or mountains either. Decent pub grub / a Co-Op supermarket and Shrewsbury park+ride all less than 4 miles away.
We cannot recommend this site highly enough. It is only a mile off the main road to Welshpool and Mid Wales so it is well worth considering as an overnight halt
If you need one. Telephone first though!

We stayed for 5 days in a tent just before the may spring bank holiday.
Excellent and large pitches.
Cannot fault the site or owners, everything clean and tidy with an exceptional toilet / shower block and washing up facilities.
If you have children there is a large playing area in an adjacent field complete with a small football field and a play area for younger children.
A nice quiet site with good views of the surrounding countryside and lots of footpaths for walking.
Shrewsbury is only 4 or 5 miles away which is excellent for shopping or walking by the river.
We have recommended this site and will be visiting again possibly with our caravan next time.

I can only agree with the other reviews that this is a 5 star site that doesn't cost the earth, we stayed 7 nights for only £73.50.
Good sized pitches which are well marked out with hedging between. Very peaceful and only a 10 minute drive into Shrewsbury town centre.
Toilets and showers couldn't have been cleaner even when the site was full. Showers powerful with plenty of hot water.
Would recommend this site to anyone and will be returning myself.

We really loved this little campsite. The owners were very friendly and you can see that they work hard at keeping this place in mint conditions.
The toilet block was very clean and well maintained. The pitch was leveled and well kept.
The owner went out of his way to explain us where to find a supermarket in town that late in the evening and they provided us with informational materials on the following morning when we left.
Very good value for money.

Cartref - what a superb find!
We stumbled upon this site as wifey had been to the Shresbury Folk Festival and it seemed ideally placed to meet up afterwards for an extra break.
Sited about 5m out of Shrewsbury, it seems in the middle of nowhere when you're on site, the peace is fabulous.
Although a small site (35 pitches at our stay), Cartref is kept immaculate with very generously sized pitches, all of which are nicely bordered without appearing 'regimented'.
The toilet block is spotless and there are good facilities for the usual waste, fresh water, hot showers, disabled access, small laundry etc. (The block is only a few years old and custom built). EHU all within easy reach to the pitches and the gardens are beautifully landscaped and maintained.
There's a separate field for dog exercising which also includes a small play area for the kids and this is readily accessed and safely positioned.
There's no club or shop, it's simply a well positioned, quiet site.
Alan and Pat are most welcoming and bend over backwards to help if required.
Cartref is a site we shall be booking into again and comes highly recommended.
PS: A mix of grass and hard-standing at our time or visit, but Alan has a keen eye for ongoing improvements and is planning on extending the hard-standing to all pitches, plus plans to expand to a further field.

Very friendly little site and with very helpful owners that reversed my caravan onto our pitch for me. They have a little tractor to help those of us not blessed with lots of reversing caravan practise. Beautifully planted area in centre of park, that was lovely to look out on. Only negative for me was the children's play area - a little bit tired and out of the way, in a separate field. (Great, however, for those who don't have children).
Showers, toilets, etc.Good and kept very clean.
Location excellent for exporting the greater Shrewsbury area and for delving into Wales.

I won't wast time saying what has already been said so many times before about how good the site is, I will just say we agree.
I will say what feel from a disabled caravan owners point of view.
Prior to booking I asked about the disabled facilities and Alan chose us a site appropriate to our needs. On arrival at the site Alan directed us to our pitch then got out the tractor and with Pats help sited and levelled (about 3cm on the left wheel)our van for us. This was most welcome after a long journey.
The disabled bathroom was clean and warm with everything we needed to make showering safe. The only thing missing was a mop to clean the floor after use but pat made short work of the talc spilled.
It is a pleasure to have met both Pat and Alan and will return again in the future even if the price increases which I think it should given all the effort that goes into making your stay so relaxing.

What a great site! we had lots and lots of rain but Pat and Alan worked very hard at keeping things clean, sure it was impossible but they managed. We could still walk in clean showers and toilets even though the weather was bad. Well done! They take a lot of pride in their site and it shows. Lots of things to see and do in the area,we stayed 4 days and didn't get to see half of it .Rates are really reasonable will be returning!
